Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 820: Chapter 533: Crisis of Being Shelved

Cheng Shenlv was dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.

Jian Man’s expression looked extremely angry, and for a moment, Cheng Shenlv couldn’t tell if Jian Man was truly angry or just exaggerating.

She also didn’t know what to say.

Just then, Zhou Yun suddenly appeared.

”Why are you all standing here?” Zhou Yun glanced at them curiously. ”The director said we need to have a meeting together, didn’t you get the message?”

Cheng Shenlv immediately reacted and said, ”Oh, right, I’m just on my way to the meeting, Sister Man, let’s go together.”

Jian Man hadn’t checked her phone earlier and was unaware of the meeting, feeling puzzled, she asked, ”What meeting is it?”

Cheng Shenlv said, ”I think it’s to discuss the follow-up shooting issues.”

Jian Man pouted, confused, and said, ”What are we discussing this time?”

Zhou Yun said, ”You’ll find out soon.”

Once everyone was present, Ning Yufeng appeared.

Zeng Lili didn’t come.

He didn’t say any lengthy opening remarks, just said directly, ”I’ve called everyone here because there’s something we need to discuss together.”

”Director, we’re only filming one or two scenes a day now, we’re pretty much just idle,” said Lin Yun, an actor who had been in the industry for over ten years, jokingly. ”What’s the directive?”

Ning Yufeng chuckled and said, ”I’m sorry, I know recently we’ve kept you waiting longer than usual, but this situation will be improved soon. I ask everyone to be a little more patient, it’s a special circumstance, and we ask for your understanding.”

”Of course, we understand this kind of situation, it’s fine,” Luo Zi said.

”Exactly, we support you, Director,” Liu Lingqi echoed.

Ning Yufeng nodded to both of them and said, ”Alright, I won’t waste your time with idle talk. Here’s the situation: a week ago, Guan Siya asked for leave to leave the crew, claiming she needed to record a program. But after she left, she never returned. We’ve urged her team several times, but they kept giving vague answers until yesterday when we learned from other sources that she has actually taken up another role in a different crew and is currently filming there.”

”What?” Jian Man widened her eyes in shock.

Others also showed surprised expressions.

Only Zhou Yun sat in her place unfazed.

”How bold is she? I remember it’s clearly stated in our performance agreement that during the contract period, outside roles are not allowed, right?” Luo Zi said in amazement.

”Yes, Guan Siya is really daring, which crew did she go to?” Jian Man asked.

Ning Yufeng said, ”Which crew she went to is not important. The reason I called everyone here today is to clarify something with everyone. I know recently, due to the adjusted shooting schedule, you may only have one or two scenes to shoot each day, but please understand, the decision wasn’t made to intentionally waste your time here but because Lily has a special circumstance that requires us to finish her scenes first to allow her to finish up early. To do this, not only during the day but every night, we have also been working overtime to ensure filming returns to normal as soon as possible. However, this is not a reason for individual actors to ignore our pre-established contract. Up until now, we haven’t actually delayed any of your time, and there’s plenty of time left in your performance schedule. For Guan Siya to dare to do such a thing, we won’t let it slide easily; we will certainly pursue it thoroughly. I hope everyone thinks carefully and does not lose something great over a small benefit.”

Jian Man said, ”Director, just because Guan Siya lacks professional ethics doesn’t mean you need to call us all together to warn us, right? We are not Guan Siya. Honestly, when I first saw her, I thought she was someone with too many tricks and unreliable.”

”It’s too late to say anything now, but rest assured, we all have professional ethics,” Luo Zi said. ”Even if filming requires an extension, I will surely cooperate. Having been an actor for so long, a good role is more important than anything else.”

Everyone began to talk noisily.

Cheng Shenlv’s mind was in chaos. She was stunned when she heard Ning Yufeng say that Guan Siya had secretly gone to another crew to act. She knew Guan Siya had always been daring, but she hadn’t expected Guan Siya’s audacity to reach this level. Cheng Shenlv’s heart was pounding, unable to fathom why Guan Siya would dare to do something like this?
