Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 834: Chapter 537: His Film Crew (Part 2)

He thought for a moment and said, ”I’ll give Mo Yu a call and ask him. Wait for me a bit.”

Zhou Yun responded with a ”hmm”.

After a while, Song Chi came back and said, ”Mo Yu knows the owner quite well and agreed to save us a spot. Let’s head over now.”

Song Chi drove Zhou Yun to the location of the private restaurant.

The private restaurant is quite famous locally, attracting many visitors because of its reputation.

Song Chi and Zhou Yun searched for a while before they found the place.

They both wore sunglasses as they entered and met the owner.

The owner led them to a secluded corner, shielded by a slanted bookshelf, and said, ”Please sit here.”

”Thank you, boss,” Zhou Yun replied.

The arrangement was clearly considerate of their status, placing them in a more private spot.

The sunlight was perfect at this spot.

Golden sunlight streamed through the glass window, falling upon the two of them.

Nearby, there were faint voices of other guests chatting quietly, but the distance filtered them into mere whispers of life without feeling chaotic.

Zhou Yun was pleasantly surprised by the place and said, ”The environment here is really nice.”

Song Chi said, ”Mo Yu brought us here once before. There are a few signature dishes you should try when we order.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Yun nodded.

After a while, the owner returned, pen and notepad in hand, and asked, ”Ready to order?”

Song Chi nodded to him and listed off a string of dishes.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yun quickly said, ”That’s enough. It’s just the two of us. Don’t waste too much.”

Song Chi said, ”It’s okay; the owner will make portions suitable for two people. He won’t prepare too much.”

The owner nodded with a smile.

Only then did Zhou Yun relax.

Even though she’s no longer in want of money, she still dislikes extravagance and waste.

Fortunately, Song Chi shares the same sentiment.

”Ah, filming ’Under the Grand Dress’ went quite smoothly overall, but it was the first time I felt how difficult it is to make decisions. Clearly, there are people who can make decisions, yet they all prefer to pass them onto me. Whatever I say goes. Honestly, I’m still young and don’t know how to make a lot of these decisions and have to push them back. I’ve realized that it’s better to involve myself less in film production in the future. Right now, I lack various experiences, and it’s easy to make mistakes.”

”The film ’Under the Grand Dress’ was completely made because of you, so it’s understandable why everyone wants you to make various decisions; no one wants to upset you or risks getting fired by offending you,” Song Chi pointed out. ”Generally, unless a movie focuses entirely around you, such situations wouldn’t occur again.”

”I’m afraid this situation will become more common. I’ve heard that the drama ’Half City Rain’ is basically Xu Siyao’s show. She adds scenes as she wishes and even brought her own scriptwriter to modify lines,” Zhou Yun said.

Song Chi chuckled and said, ”That’s not an issue. For such a series, Xu Siyao’s participation is critical to improving ratings and securing more investments. If they want to be led by her, it’s because they are willing to accept it. This phenomenon cannot become widespread because platforms and producers won’t always hand over control to actors. They are compromising now only because it brings more significant benefits, aiding what they care most for.”

Zhou Yun nodded in agreement with Song Chi’s opinion.

”Initially, I wanted to invest and produce ’Laissez-faire,’ but despite their politeness, they showed no intention of compromising on this matter.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”So now when you act, you can earn dividends, right?”

”Some films offer them, others don’t,” Song Chi replied. ”For this movie, they gave me two options: either a fifteen million fee or an eight million fee plus box office dividends, and I chose the latter.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”That’s good.”

”Generally, if dividends are available, it’s better to take them. It also helps reduce the production’s financial pressure,” Song Chi said. ”It’s actually a better arrangement.”

Their conversation revolved entirely around work-related topics.
