Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 831: Chapter 536: A Two-Way Journey (Part 2)

Zhou Yun took photos with many people as mementos and said many things, the most frequent being that they would work together again if there was an opportunity in the future.

Waving goodbye to everyone, Zhou Yun finally hugged Ning Yufeng.

She whispered in his ear, ”Director, I hope that shooting this movie with me has dispelled your aversion to working with celebrities and big-name actors. Although good big-name actors like me are rare, with your good nature, you’ll certainly attract many capable actors.”

Zhou Yun’s words left Ning Yufeng filled with mixed emotions.

Many people had said he liked using newcomers, but only Zhou Yun realized he didn’t dislike using mature actors, he just resisted it.

Ning Yufeng said, ”If I can’t secure funding for my films in the future, please help me.”

”Ask Song Chi,” Zhou Yun said, ”he’ll definitely help you.”

Ning Yufeng nodded with a smile.

”Do you have any projects in mind for your next film?” Zhou Yun asked.

Ning Yufeng said, ”Still looking, no rush.”

”Yes, no rush. Once ’Under the Grand Dress’ airs, you’ll definitely become the most sought-after director in the industry,” Zhou Yun said.

”I just fear that everyone will approach me to make fashion dramas,” Ning Yufeng laughed.

Zhou Yun said, ”No worries, if I find a script I like, I’ll ask you to consider directing it, if you’re interested.”

”Sure,” Ning Yufeng nodded.

In the end, Zhou Yun pulled Zhou Jianfeng aside.

”The film is finally completed. There’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time, and now I finally can,” Zhou Yun smiled at Zhou Jianfeng.

Zhou Jianfeng pursed his lips, looking like an obedient student ready to listen.

”I know I initially wanted Yu Zhiyang to play your role in this movie, which has concerned you and made you worry about being replaced. But, Jianfeng, I hope you understand that no actor is the only choice for any film. The so-called only choice is something fans and audiences create. Insecurity is a fate actors must face, and being chosen is a situation actors must confront. From your perspective, I’m selecting you; in reality, I’m also being chosen by others. I, like you, am not always the first choice, like for ’Life’ and the director’s other film, ’Falling Leaves’. But I’ve never let it discourage me. I tell myself that not choosing me is their loss. I hope you find your own confidence. Your value will not diminish because others don’t choose you, and once an opportunity is in your hands, you’ll use your brilliance to show everyone that you’re worth it.”

Zhou Jianfeng felt a swirl of emotions listening to Zhou Yun’s words.

”Sister Xiao Yun...”

”I told you not to call me Sister Xiao Yun,” Zhou Yun patted Zhou Jianfeng’s shoulder. ”I’m glad you were the lead actor in this film. You did a great job, and I’m very satisfied.”

Zhou Jianfeng smiled.

”Really?”

”You see, why are you still asking if it’s true or not? You need to be confident,” Zhou Yun concluded, ”Without confidence, how can you endure the innate sensitivity and vulnerability of being an actor? Be confident. From now on, you’ll reach new heights in your career. Don’t lose yourself. Learn from Lili, don’t follow the paths of Guan Siya and Xu Siyao. Acting well is your biggest asset.”

Zhou Jianfeng nodded and said, ”I understand. I will.”

”Let’s have a drink together sometime.”

Finally waving to everyone, Zhou Yun left.

As usual, after filming, both assistants, Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Yun, would take turns on break for a while.

Zhou Yun herself didn’t have much work, and it was arranged efficiently.

Zhou Lan was used to her personality, preferring to schedule work in blocks and leave the remaining time for her to rest.

After hearing Zhou Lan’s schedule, knowing she could rest the day after tomorrow, Zhou Yun cheered and went home happily.

Song Chi had already joined a film crew, so no one was waiting for her at home.

Upon opening the door and seeing the quiet, empty house, Zhou Yun felt a moment of disappointment.

The joy and happiness of coming home evaporated instantly.

After taking a shower, she finally calmed down.

She called Song Chi, but he didn’t answer. It wasn’t until 9:30 PM that he called back, saying he was filming earlier and had just wrapped up.
