Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 830: Chapter 536: Mutual Pursuit

Zhou Yun realized that this matter should actually be discussed after the wrap-up of the drama.

Leaking the news at this time makes everyone restless, unable to fully engage in filming.

On set, their eyes would occasionally glance over at her, and what their gazes meant was clear without needing to say.

Zhou Yun felt quite helpless, yet she didn’t know what to say.

She could understand their feelings, but on one hand, she didn’t want to make it her unilateral decision; on the other hand, whoever is chosen would be unfair to others.

However, of course, a drama is made to earn money, not for fairness, and considering the final distribution of interests and balance is not a simple matter.

Based on the amount of screen time, it should be Cheng Shenlv’s turn, but Cheng Shenlv is a new actor and is signed by Yuehai, with no ties to ”Under the Grand Dress” production. Why should such benefits be given to others when it’s clearly favorable for the actors?

He Yong wanted to secure this opportunity for Lin Luyao and Jian Man because Lin Luyao and Jian Man are signed by Chengqian. Their benefits are Chengqian’s benefits.

But Zhou Yun and Zhou Jianfeng, as the leading actors, are already signed by Chengqian. Not all benefits should go to Chengqian’s actors.

Chengqian is merely the production company for this drama; there are other investors, who wouldn’t want all the benefits to go to Chengqian either.

In the end, the forces behind the scenes are in a tumultuous struggle.

Everyone knew that resolving Zhou Yun would resolve the issue.

No one would go against Zhou Yun’s wishes in this drama.

This was the first time Zhou Yun experienced this since her acting debut. It was also in this drama where she truly felt why some actors lose themselves after becoming famous. In such an environment, it’s hard not to lose oneself!

Basically, whatever she said, no one would oppose.

Strange indeed.

Of course, Zhou Yun knew this was because several of the drama’s key producers and production companies, like Zheng Xiaowen, He Yong, and Zhou Lan, had intricate ties with her and were absolutely willing to follow her lead unless it was a matter of principle.

Everyone hoped she could make a decision, but she wished it wouldn’t be her to resolve this matter.

This stalemate lasted for days, and the filming of ”Under the Grand Dress” reached its final stage.

The entire filming process was exceptionally comfortable and pleasant for Zhou Yun.

Ning Yufeng is truly a good director.

Zhou Yun told Ning Yufeng, ”Director Ning, if you have a role that fits in your future projects, don’t forget to let me know. I’d really love to film a few more dramas with you; the filming was so comfortable, and I really like your style and rhythm.”

Such a straightforward confession startled Ning Yufeng.

Before, Ning Yufeng only worked with newcomers, and collaborating with a celebrity like Zhou Yun for the first time, he initially thought it might be challenging, but Zhou Yun completely changed his stereotype of celebrities.

Ning Yufeng laughed, ”Would you be willing to play a supporting role?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”If you think the supporting role is worth me playing, I trust your judgment.”

Ning Yufeng felt embarrassed to continue joking.

Zhou Yun was quite serious.

She also knew not all roles are solely highlighted by the lead. In many dramas, the supporting roles shine intensely. Like in ”Farewell My Concubine,” Jiang Wenli’s character, a prostitute who appeared only for a few minutes, made Zhou Yun think that if there were such a drama, a role, a director, she’d be willing to take it. Of course, many might say that character was ordinary, and it’s the actor’s great performance that made the role classic. But that’s the point; Zhou Yun didn’t think she had to fixate on playing the lead.

The key is whether this director is trustworthy and whether this character is good.

By the wrap-up day, there was no conclusion on who would replace Zeng Lili in managing those promotional resources.

Zhou Yun saw a hint of resentment on many people’s faces.

She felt quite helpless.

But after filming the final scene, everyone found it hard to part ways.

Such a large crew—except for the likes of Guan Siya, who was uniquely annoying—most people, most of the time, despite having different personalities and thoughts, had fought side by side for such a long time, meeting daily, talking, collaborating on the film, and had long formed an emotional bond.
