Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 840: Chapter 539: Farewell, Ning Yao (2)

Zhou Lan: ”Why else? Someone’s been gossiping a lot to him, saying He Yong has given up on him, specifically signed a newcomer to train, and won’t focus on him anymore. You know Li Ci’s temperament.”

”He Yong is the boss of the agency, what’s so hard to understand about him training newcomers?” Zhou Yun sneered, ”He’s probably feeling too much of a crisis himself now.”

”That’s part of it, too. His public opinion hasn’t been good lately, and his reputation is getting worse.”

”If I were He Yong, I’d also plan ahead. Can’t wait until Li Ci is completely out of favor before training someone new,” Zhou Yun said.

”Without He Yong, Li Ci wouldn’t be this popular either. Li Ci entirely relies on He Yong’s management,” Zhou Lan said, ”Ultimately, if Li Ci had real skills, he wouldn’t worry about being replaced.”

”Zhang Mo is quite nice, has good acting skills. As long as He Yong is willing to allocate resources, he can definitely become popular,” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan disagreed, ”In this industry, whether you become popular is really a mystery.”

After chatting with Zhou Lan, Zhou Yun immediately went to contact Zhang Mo.

”Heard we became colleagues now.” Zhou Yun said with a smile.

Zhang Mo also smiled and said, ”Hello, senior sister.”

Zhou Yun laughed out loud.

”Are you in Shanghai now?”

”Yes,” Zhang Mo said, ”I just came to sign the contract today.”

”Congratulations, I’m not in Shanghai now. When I get back, let’s have a meal together.”

”Sure, let me treat you to dinner, as a thanks,” Zhang Mo said jokingly.

”That’s necessary,” Zhou Yun said, ”Has the company arranged an agent for you?”

If not, Zhou Yun thought she could let Zhou Lan try to secure it.

”They arranged Yuh Jiangxing, I heard he’s President He’s relative.”

”Oh.” Zhou Yun understood as soon as she heard Yuh Jiangxing, realizing He Yong really wants to support Zhang Mo. Otherwise, he wouldn’t let Yuh Jiangxing manage him, ”That’s good, he’s quite capable, even though he’s a relative, he has plenty of resources and surely won’t treat you unfairly.”

”But I heard he also manages Xu Siyao? Heard Xu Siyao has a lot of demands?”

”Don’t worry, just keep your distance from her.”

Zhang Mo chuckled.

...

Zhou Yun didn’t know what impact Zhang Mo signing with Chengqian would have on Chengqian’s situation.

But Zhang Mo’s entry should affect Lu Zhongting and Huang Zicheng.

No choice; being similar in age, there’s bound to be competition for resources.

That night, Zhou Yun had already fallen asleep, and didn’t know when Song Chi returned.

She didn’t even open her eyes, instinctively got close to him, and continued sleeping.

The next day, after lunch, Zhou Yun left to return to Shanghai.

She had work the next day.

Song Chi took her to the train station.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi shared a goodbye kiss in the car.

Reluctant to part.

Back in Shanghai, Cao Jun picked Zhou Yun up at the train station and took her home.

Zhou Yun made a simple dinner for herself, ate, read at night, and went to bed early.

...

The next day’s work was a magazine shoot.

It wasn’t a large publication, but because Jinling Jewelry collaborated with them, they needed a cover shoot and a set of inside pages.

Zhou Yun arrived at the set ten minutes early.

Jinling Jewelry hired a makeup artist and stylist, specifically to design several looks highlighting their main pieces.

During makeup, the person in charge from Jinling Jewelry came by to greet her.

Zhou Yun exchanged pleasantries with them.

They asked Zhou Yun about her future plans, and she mentioned two dramas.

They asked with some confusion, not signing any movies?

Zhou Yun responded that she hasn’t found a suitable script.

”That’s right, if there isn’t a suitable script, it’s not worth settling,” they laughed, adding, ”But it’s better not to do too many TV dramas.”

Zhou Yun asked why.

They hesitated and said something about the current production quality of TV dramas not being as good as movies, or movies having a more international reach, etc.

After listening for a while, Zhou Yun understood—they felt that acting in too many TV dramas reduces one’s status in the public’s eyes.

Jinling Jewelry, being in the luxury goods sector, places great importance on their spokesperson’s public image.

It’s noteworthy that some luxury brands have had to replace their spokespersons due to complaints and dislike from target customers.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel a bit helpless.

But this is the reality.
