Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 846: Chapter 541: Just Give Up (Part 2)

The two parties have reached a preliminary agreement on cooperation.

He Yong needs to take this to the Chengqian Group headquarters to communicate with his higher-ups about it.

Regarding the matter of Zhou Yun’s tenure at this level of personnel, He Yong also has to proceed with extreme caution.

After meeting with He Yong, Zhou Yun asked Zhou Lan, ”Sister Lan, do you think He Yong and his company will agree to this cooperation model?”

Zhou Lan shook her head and said, ”I can’t say for sure. After all, we’ve never had this kind of model before. The artist belongs to the company, but her agent does not. In their view, this actually has a significant disadvantage; the artists’ sense of belonging to the company becomes very weak. As you know, most of the artists’ attachment to the company comes from their agents. Compared to a cold, unfeeling company, the artist is more psychologically dependent on the agent they see day in and day out. Moreover, our relationship is enough to sound alarms for them. They probably don’t want to see another agent, like me, set up their own firm and poach the company’s artists.”

Zhou Yun said, ”But if we’re willing to give Chengqian Entertainment some equity in this studio, technically, it’s not completely setting up our own shop, right?”

”But we’ve requested the right to independent operations, meaning they can’t interfere in any of our decisions.” Zhou Lan shook her head, ”This means only dividends for Chengqian. But as you know, in the artist management business, relationships bring returns greater than dividends.”

Zhou Yun: ”So, I’ve kept my agency agreement with the studio, which means it’s still with Chengqian Entertainment, and I haven’t moved to another agency.”

”That’s crucial. If it weren’t for this, He Yong certainly wouldn’t even consider it. Currently, what they value most is you. As long as you don’t leave Chengqian Entertainment, everything is negotiable.” Zhou Lan said, ”However, on the other hand, they probably don’t want to see our relationship getting closer.”

Zhou Yun laughed, pursed her lips, and said, ”I certainly won’t get closer to He Yong.”

Between them and He Yong, at best, it’s considered a friendly cooperation. The things He Yong has done before make it impossible for Zhou Yun to develop a more intimate and trusting relationship with him.

In the evening, Zhou Lan held a welcome party for Yuk Chu, inviting many people from the company to attend.

Almost everyone in the company knows about Yuk Chu’s relationship with Zhou Yun, and since Zhou Lan hosted the party personally, naturally many people showed their support.

Everyone enjoyed themselves together.

Wang Jing also attended.

Someone with ill intentions asked her, ”Zhou Lan signed another actress; won’t this affect you?”

Wang Jing smiled and threw the question back, ”Affect me how?”

Actually, after the news of Yuk Chu signing spread, many people discussed it privately.

There are unknown numbers of newcomers at Chengqian Entertainment who are envious and jealous of Wang Jing because she was favored by Zhou Lan, which led her to soar to the top, not to mention the excellent resources, and she was nominated for the Lingjun Award for Best Supporting Actress alongside Zhou Yun.

But now Yuk Chu, who has an even closer relationship with Zhou Yun, has arrived, and people can’t help but watch the drama.

Without even thinking, Zhou Yun will definitely take better care of Wang Jing.

In this way, won’t Wang Jing be greatly affected?

Many people think so.

Wang Jing maintained a very upright mindset. On one hand, Zhou Lan told her that Yuk Chu wouldn’t affect her at all. They currently have ample resources and wouldn’t clash with each other. On the other hand, Wang Jing now has the momentum to stand alone. Since she received the Lingjun Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, many roles have actively approached her, and she is no longer the newcomer who needed to go to auditions everywhere.

Zhou Lan once said, ”Xiao Jing, both you and Yuk Chu are in a rising phase now. Our market is big enough not to exclude two rising actresses. If her arrival gives you some sense of crisis, I think it’s actually a good thing. In any case, no matter what others say to you, the one thing you must contemplate is whether your career development will be influenced by Yuk Chu.” She continued, ”Consider how Sister Xiao Yun reached where she is today; by strengthening yourself, no matter who comes to compete with you, she never concerns herself.”
