Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 838: Chapter 538: A Lawsuit (Part 3)

No one knows when it started, but Zhou Yun no longer heard anything other than praise at work.

Everyone seemed to genuinely compliment and admire her.

But was it real?

Zhou Yun bid farewell to everyone with a smile and got into the car.

Suddenly, someone caught up with her.

”Xiao Yun, Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun almost closed the car door, but leaned out to see that it was the photographer from earlier.

He smiled at her and said, ”Xiao Yun, could I trouble you for ten minutes? I have something to discuss with you.”

This photographer was Zuo Mo, a very famous photographer.

Zhou Yun nodded and asked, ”Why don’t you come into my car? We can talk here.”

Zuo Mo nodded in agreement.

Zheng Xiaojue and Cao Jun got out of the car first, giving them some space.

With the car door open, Zuo Mo got in and said to Zhou Yun, ”I won’t be too formal, here’s the thing — I’ve opened a photography studio. If you need any shoots, whether promotional photos or videos, you can look for me.”

Zhou Yun suddenly realized he was advertising himself to her.

”Teacher Zuo, with your reputation, do you still need to gain clients like me? Aren’t you already overwhelmed with demand?” Zhou Yun laughed.

Zuo Mo said, ”Well, I used to have a contracting company to help me with connections. Now that I’m on my own, I have to find ways to get more clients. If your friends need anything, you could recommend me. My skills are still top-notch in the country.”

”Of course, that’s why I’m surprised. With your name, just saying the word would have many seeking you out.”

”I don’t take every job,” Zuo Mo winked at Zhou Yun. ”Regarding this matter, please help me out.”

Zhou Yun nodded with a smile, ”No problem, if I or my friends ever need anything, I’ll reach out to you.”

Zuo Mo smiled, ”Thanks a lot, I’ll give you a friendly rate the first three times.”

”I definitely have to take advantage of such a deal.” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Yun later talked to Zhou Lan about this. Zhou Lan explained, ”Do you know why he’s so eager to reach out to you? It’s because he had a falling out with his company. Not only did they argue, but it was quite unpleasant. His company is one of the largest in the country with many collaborators. I’ve heard they even threatened to block his future work.”

”Really? It got that serious? What caused their disagreement?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise.

Zhou Lan said, ”Supposedly, Zuo Mo was unhappy with the profits division, and this issue had been brewing for a while with the company.”

”Is this small issue enough for the company to cut him off?” Zhou Yun thought it wasn’t worth the company going to such lengths against Zuo Mo.

Zhou Lan said, ”Who knows? That’s the word on the street, maybe there’s more behind the scenes.”

This news made Zhou Yun understand why Zuo Mo approached her for this matter.

Suddenly, she thought, ”Then this time with the Jinling Jewelry shoot, did Zuo Mo take it on his own or did his company set it up for him?”

”I’m not sure, the magazine and Jinling Jewelry coordinated to choose the photographer. I only know the fees are settled by Jinling Jewelry.”

”Alright.”

But no one expected that due to Zuo Mo’s issues, Zhou Yun would face an unexpected disaster.

Zuo Mo’s company suddenly released a statement three days later, accusing Zuo Mo of contract violation and taking on work privately, specifically the shoot for Zhou Yun’s endorsement.

Zuo Mo wasn’t widely recognized online, but with Zhou Yun’s name attached, the story made the news.

Many people paid attention to and discussed this matter.

Zhou Yun, caught in the discussion, wasn’t negatively affected as the incident wasn’t related to her. But there was one aspect that concerned her: Zuo Mo’s agency sent a lawyer’s letter to Jinling Jewelry, stating that Zuo Mo breached their contract by accepting the shoot, and urged Jinling Jewelry not to use the resulting images, or else face legal action.

The consequence for Zhou Yun was that if the images couldn’t be used, she’d have to reshoot.

Zuo Mo eventually spoke out on Weibo, claiming that the company breached the contract first, rendering it invalid, and that he was pursuing legal action.

No matter which side was telling the truth, Jinling Jewelry was unfortunately caught in the middle.

The shoot was meant for next season’s main promotion. With the legal battle, who knew how long it would drag on? Even if Zuo Mo won eventually, the shoot would become outdated and useless.
