Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 843: Chapter 540:

”Mm.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”At that time, ’Falling Leaves’ encountered a bit of an accident and had to stop filming for a while.”

”Back then, not many people supported you making ’Behind the Scenes’, right?” Ning Yao asked with a smile.

Zhou Yun nodded.

”That’s how it is. When you’re a newcomer, people think it’s okay for you to take risks since there’s nothing much to lose, but once you’re no longer a newbie, the cost of taking risks seems to increase.” Ning Yao said, ”I admire your courage. I thought about it, and if it were me, I might not dare to do it.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Actually, I was very hesitant at the time.”

”By the way, have you heard that Hollywood is planning to make a movie with a Chinese Warrior as the main character?” Ning Yao suddenly asked.

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”I’ve heard about it.”

”Did they contact you?” Ning Yao asked.

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”Not yet, why?”

”They contacted me, wanting me to play the main villain.” Ning Yao said with a laugh, ”I turned it down because I have schedule conflicts.”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”They wanted Sister Ning Yao to play the main villain? That’s so strange, what were they thinking?”

”I guess they thought it would be a contrast for the Chinese audience because I’ve never played a villain before.” Ning Yao explained, ”I thought they might have reached out to you. They mentioned to me before that they were quite interested in you.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I might not have time either, I have a lot of projects lined up.”

Ning Yao said, ”I saw the news and was quite surprised. Why did you take on so many projects?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Some I really liked the script, and some because I liked the director. I did think about whether I was taking on too much, but sometimes I feel that if I don’t take them on, I might regret it in the future. I don’t want to regret it, so I’d rather tire myself out a bit.”

Ning Yao nodded and smiled, ”I went through this phase too, I understand, it’s the rising phase of struggling.”

The two of them chatted for a long time.

Suddenly Ning Yao remembered and said, ”By the way, I’m having a party for my birthday next month, would you like to come and have some fun?”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”Can I come?”

”I’d be delighted to have you there.”

”Then I’ll come.” Zhou Yun agreed without hesitation.

After the event ended, Zhou Yun was about to leave when someone stopped her.

The person was a producer wanting to add her as a friend.

Zhou Yun hadn’t heard of his name, but she added him as a friend anyway.

She got in the car and searched online, only to find out he mainly produced animated films in the past and had quite a rich experience.

Zhou Yun found it quite amusing.

She originally thought he wanted her to act, but it turned out he was an animated film producer.

Just as she was thinking this, the director named Wui Lai sent her a message: ”Hello Miss Zhou Yun, I’m Wui Lai, an animated film producer. I’m currently working on a domestic original animation, it’s a story based on ancient Chinese mythology. I wonder if I could have the honor to invite you to voice the female lead in the animation?”

Zhou Yun was taken aback.

Voice acting?

So after all this, they were still looking to collaborate with her?

She was happy too soon.

But, voice acting for animation?

Zhou Yun couldn’t deny that she was a bit interested.

She had watched a lot of animation since she was a child and was an animation fan herself.

However, domestic animation seemed to have been lukewarm all along, without particularly phenomenal films.

This was the first time an animated film had approached her.

Zhou Yun thought for a moment and asked, ”Can I first learn more about what kind of animated film it is?”

Wui Lai replied immediately: ”Of course, no problem! If you have time in the next few days, I’d like to invite you to visit our studio and I’ll introduce our project to you.”

Zhou Yun didn’t think this person was a fraud.

After all, this person had produced many animated films, his experience was available online, and his works had been properly released in cinemas.

Zhou Yun took a screenshot and sent it to Sister Lan, saying: ”Sister Lan, let’s find some time to go and have a look.”

After seeing the message, Zhou Lan immediately called Zhou Yun.

”This producer named Wui Lai, do you know him well?” Zhou Lan asked.

”Not well, I just met him at the event and added him on WeChat.” Zhou Yun said, ”I searched for his information online.”

”I asked around a bit, Xiao Yun, there’s something I need to tell you in advance. I heard there’s a problem with the funding for his current animation project, and he’s inviting you to voice the female lead possibly to leverage your participation to attract more funding.”
