Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 296: Chapter 258: Rising Phase: 94

Wei Heyun came looking for Zhou Yun.

As soon as they met, he had a gloomy expression on his face and asked, ”What should I do?”

Zhou Yun, confused, said, ”Big brother, what should you do about what?”

Wei Heyun said, ”I feel so miserable right now. No matter what I do, Sitian doesn’t like me. I think I’m a total failure.”

Zhou Yun gasped.

”Big brother, just because Sitian doesn’t like you, you think you’re a failure, but even if Sitian liked you, it wouldn’t mean you’re a success, right? Are you sure you’re not misunderstanding what success and failure mean?”

Wei Heyun suddenly looked up, his eyes fierce, but of course, Zhou Yun wasn’t scared.

”I’m really upset right now, and you’re not saying anything comforting?”

Zhou Yun, feeling helpless, said, ”How do you want me to console you?”

Wei Heyun said, ”You could tell me how I can win over Sitian.”

Zhou Yun: ”Please, how am I supposed to know how you can win over Sitian?”

Wei Heyun said, ”Both of you are women and both of you are actresses, and you’re about the same age.”

Zhou Yun: ”But we’re not the same person.”

Wei Heyun: ”...So you just don’t want to help me?”

”I don’t know how to help. Honestly speaking, who in this circle wouldn’t want to please you? If there was a way to help, who wouldn’t?” Zhou Yun said helplessly, ”Wei Heyun, you can’t just focus on Sitian; don’t you have other things to keep you busy?”

”You mean work? I don’t need to work,” Wei Heyun said proudly.

”You see, that’s why you’re so fixated on Sitian,” Zhou Yun said. ”You need to find a job.”

Wei Heyun said, ”My family doesn’t need me to earn money.”

Zhou Yun maintained a smile for several seconds before she managed to hold back a roll of her eyes and said, ”Work isn’t just about making money. Of course, I’m not qualified to talk about high and mighty topics like life and values, but don’t you have things you genuinely want to do? Childhood dreams, aspirations towards certain careers, desires to achieve something, those impulses? You must have felt them at least once.”

Wei Heyun: ”...Anything I want, I just need to ask and I get it.”

Zhou Yun: ”Okay, I, a mere mortal, wouldn’t understand.”

”Since you say so, it makes sense. I really don’t know much about Sitian’s job or what you actresses do every day. How about this, I’ll be your agent for a while,” Wei Heyun said, his eyes gleaming with this sudden idea, ”This way, I’ll get to know what Sitian’s work environment is like, and we’ll have more in common. Don’t you girls always say it’s important to have things in common?”

Hearing this, Zhou Yun felt faint.

”Big brother, don’t mess around, I have my own agent, okay? Plus, if you become my agent, Sitian will only get mad at you,” Zhou Yun said. ”You probably don’t know this, but Sitian really dislikes me. Now you’ll have even less of a chance.”

Wei Heyun looked despondently at Zhou Yun and said, ”This won’t work, that won’t work either.”

In Zhou Yun’s mind, a million curses raced by.

She controlled her irritation and said, ”Why do you always come to me?”

Wei Heyun said, ”Because... you’re not as pretentious.”

”Huh?”

”Others never tell me the truth,” Wei Heyun scoffed with a sneer. ”It’s like they think I enjoy their flattery.”

”You don’t like it?” Zhou Yun asked.

”It’s not that,” Wei Heyun’s expression changed again, ”but when everyone is flattering me, it’s boring. You’re more real.”

”Haha?” Zhou Yun slapped her forehead. ”Am I real?”

If she were truly 100% honest, she would have impatiently told Wei Heyun to scram by now.

But obviously, Wei Heyun would never realize this.

There’s also something else Wei Heyun wouldn’t realize, or rather, wouldn’t care about, even if he knew. His presence beside a woman drags her into the whirlpool of public opinion.

A young man from an influential family naturally comes with this baggage.

Wei Heyun repeatedly appearing around Zhou Yun, these signals slowly spreading, became a topic for some.

Speculations arose with the wind.

After all, these years, Wei Heyun’s attention has remained on Zhou Yun, rarely involving any scandalous news.

Zhou Yun became the first one.

Not to mention, Zhou Yun has always been a celebrity prone to scandals.

In some people’s mouths, the words became unpleasant.

For example, Su Yan.

Why would Su Yan ever say good things about Zhou Yun.

”Zhou Yun’s behavior has always been like this, think about it, since her debut, how many men has she been rumored with? Song Chi, He Yong, Gu Huaichun, Li Ci, and now Wei Heyun—it’s only been two years, hasn’t it? Next time don’t come to me talking about how talented Zhou Yun is. Oh, talent, how common is that in the entertainment industry without a patron to cash it out? I actually think Zhou Yun is impressive, I truly admire her, she’s very clear on what’s most important at such a young age.”

These words were spoken by Su Yan in private.

Once the words leaked out, stamped with Su Yan’s name, true or not, the impact was significant, and the protagonist would not come forward to claim or refute.

Zhou Yun laughed angrily when she heard Su Yan’s words.

The next time Wei Heyun came to pester her, she bluntly said, ”Wei Heyun, could you maybe not come to see me so often next time? Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused me?”

Wei Heyun, surprised, asked, ”Did Sitian come to bother you again?”

Zhou Yun: ”Not Sitian, the rumors—how many people are saying you’ve switched your target to seduce me, oh, no, that I, ambitious, have trapped your heart.”

Wei Heyun burst into laughter, slapping his thigh, ”Are these people out of their minds? That’s too funny.”

”Funny my ass, do you know how much trouble this has caused me?” Zhou Yun said irritably, ”You’re too much, don’t pester me again, I don’t know how to help you with Sitian.”

This was the first time Zhou Yun got really angry, and her tone also grew irritated.

Wei Heyun stared at her in shock, disbelievingly looking at Zhou Yun for a while, then said, ”If you don’t know, you don’t know, why be so fierce?”

Zhou Yun: ”Because you’ve brought me a lot of trouble.”

In less than two days, Zhou Yun deeply regretted saying that.

She didn’t understand why she had complained to this rich young master whose thought processes were clearly flawed: ”You’ve brought me a lot of trouble.”

She didn’t realize then that the rich young master had a simple idea: I’ll just solve those troubles for you.
