Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 264: Chapter 226: Rising Phase: 62

Didn’t expect that?

Zhou Lan smiled with her head lowered.

Strictly speaking, this was actually snatching opportunity from He Yong.

From the beginning when He Yong planned to have Wang Jing play the supporting female role, it was clear that he saw potential and external development in Wang Jing.

Such a precious opportunity, of course, He Yong would want to use it on someone he favored.

So, it wasn’t that there weren’t other agents in the company to guide her, but that she had already been selected by He Yong.

Zhou Lan’s action was akin to pulling a tooth from a tiger’s mouth.

But with the opportunity right in front of her, Zhou Lan felt that not trying would be a waste of this great chance.

Normally, Zhou Lan wouldn’t bother. After all, competing against He Yong was almost futile; no newcomer would abandon the boss to choose someone else. However, He Yong himself had handed this opportunity to Zhou Lan. He Yong let Xu Siyao replace Wang Jing, and although Wang Jing didn’t say anything, she couldn’t be without complaints in her heart.

These seemingly minor but disappointing actions are the easiest to breed resentment.

Zhou Lan also felt that as Zhou Yun’s agent, she could access resources far beyond the demand, and whatever Zhou Yun couldn’t take on, ended up wasted.

Though Zhou Yun and Wang Jing had different styles, their age difference wasn’t significant. Many resources that Zhou Yun couldn’t use could be given to Wang Jing.

Especially since Zhou Yun was likely to continue with films and wouldn’t frequently shoot TV or web series. It would be a pity not to find someone else to take over these resources.

Zhou Lan had no intention of handing these resources over to anyone else in the company.

Feeding a tiger is asking for trouble.

Zhou Lan made up her mind, promptly bought a ticket, and headed to the Dingfengbo film crew.

”Sign Wang Jing?” Zhou Yun thought for a moment and said, ”Sister Lan, how come you suddenly had this idea?”

”On one hand, there are so many projects approaching you, signing a newcomer could also cover some,” Zhou Lan said, ”On the other hand, isn’t Xu Siyao always troubling you? Wang Jing happens to follow the same path as her, we create trouble for Xu Siyao, so she won’t bother you anymore.”

Zhou Yun smiled wryly.

”Sister Lan, that’s quite mean.”

”Don’t blame me for being mean, we fight fire with fire,” Zhou Lan said, ”We give Wang Jing the resources, letting her have a smoother start as a newcomer, she helps us create competition and trouble for Xu Siyao, each taking what they need.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Then... in this case, should we also expose the matter of Xu Siyao stealing Wang Jing’s role?”

”Expose, why not?” Zhou Lan said, ”Exposing it just saves us a sum of Wang Jing’s publicity fees.”

Zhou Yun: ”What should I do?”

”Get He Yong’s approval, let me become Wang Jing’s agent,” Zhou Lan said, ”Once the company agrees, I will immediately arrange for someone to release the statement.”

”Won’t He Yong come at you with a knife?”

”No worries, you are backing me up, he won’t dare,” Zhou Lan said, ”I now fully understand one thing, his attitude towards me never depends on what impression I make on him, but rather on my image and value in his eyes.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Alright then, seems like I also need to vent some anger.”

That night, under He Yong’s continuous apology messages for so many days, Zhou Yun finally replied: President He, stop apologizing to me. Since you have brought Xu Siyao by my side, whatever I do to her later, don’t turn around and blame me.

He Yong’s call came through the next second.

”Xiao Yun, after all, you guys are fellow apprentices and sisters, go easy on her.”

”Me, go easy? Do you know that she came up to me on the set and told me she would stomp me into the ground?” Zhou Yun furiously scolded.

He Yong was at a loss for words.

It seems he hadn’t heard about this incident. Probably he would be dumbfounded upon hearing this. No normal person would expect Xu Siyao to be so audacious, to spout such nonsense in front of a senior celebrity who is of higher status than her.

Zhou Yun said, ”President He, what do you think, is it my problem or hers?”

He Yong, unable to conjure his official tone, paused before saying, ”Don’t be angry, I will definitely reprimand her later.”

”Oh, reprimanding her? Don’t do that, she’s currently the darling of our company. Wouldn’t it be my fault again if President He, you upset her because of me?” Zhou Yun said sarcastically.

He Yong was left speechless.

”President He, I’m tired of the official talk, two things, first, the theme song and the ending song of Dingfengbo, give one to Chen Yuwei to sing.”

”Ah? Xiao Yun, it’s not that I don’t want to agree to you, but the singers for both the theme and the ending song are already decided.”

”President He, I’m not asking for your permission, of course, you can also ignore my opinion,” Zhou Yun stated straightforwardly.

He Yong was speechless once again.

Zhou Yun, so assertive, he didn’t know how to respond.

”The second thing, Wang Jing, since President He, you’ve made her give way to Xu Siyao, please hand her over to Sister Lan,” Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t mind helping her out.”

”Wang Jing?” He Yong’s tone even went up.

Zhou Yun said, ”President He, can’t bear to part with her?”

”It’s not that but Wang Jing...”

”Well, Wang Jing, isn’t Xu Siyao supposed to be giving me trouble? I’m giving you a big problem in return, President He, I’m working for you, helping you cultivate a female celebrity, you don’t want it?”

Those words struck at He Yong’s core.

What was He Yong most lacking now? A female celebrity!

Zhou Yun was fully set on cultivating Wang Jing to challenge Xu Siyao, which means Wang Jing would definitely be a key training focus for both Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan.

And it wouldn’t even utilize the company’s resources.

Indeed, it was a worthwhile deal.

He Yong: ”Since Xiao Yun, you’ve spoken, I must agree, but...”

”Okay, I’m hanging up,” Zhou Yun said, ending the call without a second word.

Cool and suave.

As for what He Yong thought... she didn’t care!

Sister Lan was right, she had seen through him. There’s nothing personal to discuss, as long as she remains popular, He Yong would have to hold his peace.

As for Xu Siyao...

Zhou Yun scoffed angrily: ”Just you wait!”

The company was quick to act, and it was soon agreed that Wang Jing would be managed by Zhou Lan.

The next day, widespread coverage appeared online about the newcomer Xu Siyao from the same company stealing the role from Wang Jing.

The gist was very straightforward, the already decided supporting actress role, due to Xu Siyao’s fancy, the backgroundless newcomer Wang Jing had to withdraw tearfully.

Keywords of Xu Siyao stealing the role directly sent her skyrocketing to the hot searches.

Soon after, Zhou Yun ”accidentally” liked a Weibo post condemning Xu Siyao’s unethical action in stealing the role, instantly drawing the attention of the entire internet.
