Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 292: Chapter 254: Upward Phase: 90

Song Chi suddenly sent a message, asking: Have you left home yet?

Zhou Yun saw the incoming message on her phone, silently turned off the screen, and didn’t want to reply.

She still hasn’t fully accepted the fact.

The phone vibrated again, still Song Chi: I asked Zhou Lan, and you’re free this Saturday, let’s go watch a movie together.

Zhou Yun continued to ignore it.

After a while, Song Chi sent another message: Do you want to watch a romance, or a blockbuster?

Zhou Yun really couldn’t stand it anymore, finally replying with a sentence: I don’t want to watch anything right now, be quiet.

Song Chi finally went quiet.

She felt very conflicted inside.

But, whatever happened, it happened, she couldn’t pretend like it didn’t.

Put bluntly, it was all her own doing.

Zhou Yun sighed countless times in her heart, took out her phone, and messaged Zhou Lan: I have something to tell you.

Zhou Lan instantly replied with a question mark.

Zhou Yun said: Song Chi slept at my place last night.

Zhou Lan immediately replied with an exclamation mark.

The next second, as expected, Zhou Lan called.

Zhou Yun said before she could speak up, ”I’m on my way to the high-speed train station, let’s talk when I come back.”

Zhou Lan: ”...You really did something.”

”Song Chi didn’t tell me before he came over last night, and I don’t know if we were captured by paparazzi,” Zhou Yun said, ”If we were, you’ll have to see how to handle it.”

Zhou Lan drew in a breath of cold air.

”I know, I’ll wait for you at your place tonight,” Zhou Lan said with an ”I’ll deal with you tonight” attitude.

Zhou Yun covered her face.

”Then I’ll hang up first,” Zhou Yun said.

”Hold on.”

”Huh?”

Zhou Lan asked: ”The last key question, did you take safety precautions?”

Zhou Yun felt truly embarrassed to answer this question.

”We did.”

Zhou Yun clearly heard the sound of Zhou Lan exhaling with relief on the other end of the phone.

Zhou Yun: ”...”

Is it really necessary to be so dramatic?

It’s good that she had work today. Work allowed her to temporarily shift her focus from this matter.

By evening, back in Shanghai, Zhou Yun finally accepted what had happened.

When she got home, Zhou Lan was indeed waiting for her in the living room.

Zhou Lan sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, scrolling through her phone with a tense expression.

Zhou Yun walked in, saw Zhou Lan not lifting her head, and said to her: ”Sit.”

The atmosphere was somewhat ominous.

Zhou Yun sat down.

Zhou Lan finally looked up, her gaze filled with a thousand words, she took a deep breath, and sighed first.

”I usually hope every day for you and Song Chi to get closer, closer still, but you, once you make a move, you go all the way to the top.”

Zhou Yun squeezed out a forced smile.

Zhou Lan was a bit disappointed, and said, ”Isn’t that too fast?”

Zhou Yun held her forehead with one hand, and said, ”Sister Lan, I didn’t see it coming at all, I was utterly unprepared, but, somehow, it just... just...”

”Enough, what’s done is done, no more of this ’I didn’t want this’ nonsense. I thought you were rational enough, but when the time came, you still couldn’t resist,” Zhou Lan said, ”Alright, Zhou Yun, I’m going to ask you a few very key and important questions. Normally, this would be your private business, but since you both are popular artists, your privacy can’t be treated as 100% private, I have to professionally understand the situation and prepare for crisis management and public opinion.”

”Ask away,” Zhou Yun obediently behaved like a schoolgirl.

Zhou Lan asked, ”First question, do you intend to make it public?”

Zhou Yun shook her head, saying, ”We haven’t discussed this yet, but personally, I don’t really want to go public with it.”

Zhou Lan: ”Then if the journalists captured you together, what would you say? Continue to insist you’re just friends, or what?”

Zhou Yun: ”I don’t know.”

Zhou Lan: ”You need to know. There’s a way to do it if you go public, and there’s a way if you don’t, but in this case I respect your opinion. For you, whether you go public or not, the impact isn’t that big.”

Zhou Yun: ”Then let’s not go public.”

Zhou Lan: ”You communicate with Song Chi about that, make sure you’re on the same page, and I’ll touch base with his agent too.”

Zhou Yun: ”Okay.”

Zhou Lan: ”Second question, are you guys seriously dating, or... just friends with benefits?”

Zhou Yun was dumbstruck, with a blank expression looking at Zhou Lan, ”Huh?”

Zhou Lan: ”Don’t ’huh’ me, I’m being serious.”

Zhou Yun: ”Of course it’s... seriously dating.”

Zhou Lan nodded, said good.

”Planning to get married in the next few years?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun shook her head, saying, ”Impossible.”

”You say ’impossible,’ but now I find it hard to believe you,” Zhou Lan smiled.

Zhou Yun felt even more helpless.

”It doesn’t have to be that way, Sister Lan.”

Zhou Lan: ”You dating Song Chi, honestly, Xiao Yun, I don’t think you two can hide it for long, not to mention the attention both of you get, but even the paparazzi following you every day, as long as you two date, there will always be some clues.”

Zhou Yun sighed, ”If we really can’t keep it hidden, then we’ll have to go public.”

Zhou Lan smiled, asking, ”Once it’s public, the pressure won’t be small then, then you’ll become Song Chi’s first publicly acknowledged girlfriend since his debut.”

”Then... I have no choice,” Zhou Yun said dejectedly, hugging Zhou Lan, leaning against her, ”Sister Lan, I suddenly feel the future is bleak.”

”The future is bleak? Don’t be scared, you earned your own capabilities, nobody can criticize you for that,” Zhou Lan said, ”Going to the Venice International Film Festival this time is a lucky break, as you become more famous and achieve more, earn a few Movie Queen titles, then nobody can say you’re not good enough for Song Chi.”

Zhou Yun: ”I feel even more bleak about the future, it’s not that easy to win the title of Movie Queen.”

Zhou Lan laughed.

”Let’s progress one step at a time, stay true to ourselves.”

Clinging to Zhou Lan, Zhou Yun suddenly felt at ease.

At this moment, she couldn’t help but feel emotional, having a good agent is truly important.

When most needed, she could provide strength.

”There’s one more thing,” Zhou Lan suddenly said.

”Huh?” Zhou Yun said, ”I thought you were done talking.”

”That was just the beginning, I have to schedule a special course for you later on,” Zhou Lan said, ”But I won’t tell you tonight, this is something Song Chi entrusted me with. He asked me to let you know, when you have time, give him a call back, he’s waiting for your response.”

”... ” Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t want to contact him at all right now.”

”Feeling ashamed?” Zhou Lan laughed.

Zhou Yun said, ”I think I was just drunk yesterday, not clear-headed; I definitely wouldn’t have agreed otherwise.”

”Alright, enough, it was mutual consent, no point saying you definitely wouldn’t have agreed, it’s a fine romance, enjoy it.”
