Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 273: Chapter 235: Rise: 71

The contract terms did not bind Zhou Yun to wear VX for every significant event, no artist would accept such terms.

The contract that Zhou Yun signed with VX only stipulated that Zhou Yun should wear clothes from VX a few times during public activities.

Zhou Lan said, ”Several top brands implied something, saying they are willing to give you a Title after your contract with VX expires.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Just stick with VX.”

”Alright.”

”But didn’t you say before that they would change my brand ambassador role to a spokesperson?” Zhou Yun said, ”Sister Lan, can you discuss with Zheng Xiaowen, if she isn’t planning to resolve my spokesperson status this year, then I will not renew the contract next year.”

Zhou Lan smiled knowingly and nodded, ”I had the same idea.”

Zhou Yun’s cooperation with Zheng Xiaowen wasn’t unpleasant. After all, during several of Zhou Yun’s public opinion crises, VX did not, like some brands, rashly inquire about what had happened.

Zheng Xiaowen had always been very supportive of Zhou Yun.

Thus, in returning the favor, Zhou Yun didn’t wish to wear other brands’ clothes on the Venice red carpet.

”Several domestic top brand stylists have contacted me, proactively offering to style you for the red carpet, and they can give a discount,” Zhou Lan said with a smile.

Zhou Yun said, ”That makeup artist you recommended last time, I really like her. Is she available?”

”She’s about to give birth,” Zhou Lan said, ”By that time, she would have just had her baby.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Then we’ll have to find someone else.”

”Teacher Li Chunhong’s team has also contacted us,” Zhou Lan said.

Li Chunhong was the style director for ”Heart Inquiry” and had cooperated with Zhou Yun before. Several of Zhou Yun’s looks were personally designed by him.

Zhou Lan hesitated for a moment and said, ”Does Teacher Li want to style me?”

”Yes,” Zhou Lan said, ”There is no stylist who wouldn’t want to be on such a big stage, every celebrity that walks the red carpet is their work.”

”Then, Sister Lan, you meet with Teacher Li, please also invite Zheng Xiaowen to see if there are any good ideas.”

”Alright.”

”There’s one more thing, Jinling Jewelry wants you to be their spokesperson, and they also hope that you can wear their jewelry at the red carpet event,” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun said, ”Jinling Jewelry? I remember that their spokesperson was Su Yan before?”

”That’s right, it was Su Yan, but their endorsement contract with Su Yan will expire in August, and they do not plan to continue cooperating,” Zhou Lan said, ”They wish to invite you to be their spokesperson.”

Zhou Yun hesitated for a moment and said, ”If I take on this endorsement, Su Yan would probably curse me in secret even more.”

”As you become more and more popular, you’ll have more and more competition in the future,” Zhou Lan said, ”In film and TV shows, endorsements, events.”

”I know.” Zhou Yun sighed, ”Just didn’t expect to reach this point so soon.”

”The future will bring more situations like this. Xiao Yun, the only thing you lack compared to them now is experience and works. But think about the works you’ve finished and those awaiting production; Director Kang Xin’s ’Heart Inquiry’, Director Wen Bing’s ’Life’, the ’Dingfengbo’ you are currently filming, ’Gentle Little Horse’ that will be shot in October, another film by Wen Bing, ’Two Tigers’ starring Liang Yuanpu, ’Falling Leaves’ which has a signed contract produced by Shi Luoqi, and the script Hugh is customizing for you. I’m not lying, such resources would make any actress envious. Both commercial and art films, domestic and international markets, you have it all covered, you know? Even the company headquarters is paying attention to you, waiting to see how high you can climb in the next three years.”

Zhou Yun covered her forehead with one hand.

”Feels like a lot of pressure.”

”Take it easy, no rush,” Zhou Lan said, ”You just focus on acting, I’ll share with you what you need to know, the rest I will handle.”

”It’s good to have you around.”

The changes Zhou Yun has been through these past two years were akin to riding a rocket. From the brands and partners she connects with, to the interpersonal relationships that need to be handled, from the complex networks of the production circles, to the balancing on various cooperation platforms, from the overt and covert suppression and scandals from various sources, to the rapidly changing public opinion dynamics, it’s not that Zhou Yun became popular and everyone should accommodate her whims.

If an agent is even slightly less capable, Zhou Yun would face chaos and mistakes amidst such tremendous changes, inadvertently offending many people.

But Zhou Lan firmly managed the situation without making any major mistakes.

Zhou Yun knew how important Zhou Lan’s presence was for her. Because of Zhou Lan, she could concentrate solely on filming on set. Looking at Hugh, it’s apparent that not renewing the contract with Zuo Jing and opting for a different cooperation model, starting his own company - he must personally deal with many things. Now, even in the filming crew, he has to handle a lot of other matters, stretched to his limits.

Zhou Yun tactfully tried not to bother Hugh too much.

But she didn’t go to bother Hugh, yet he took the initiative to contact her.

”Congratulations, your first film has made it to an international stage,” Hugh sent his congratulations at night.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Have you finished work for the day?”

”I’ve just finished, wrapped up a meeting,” Hugh’s voice carried a hint of fatigue.

”When will your new agent take their position?” Zhou Yun asked.

Hugh said, ”The talk is settled, but it will take some time for him to resign from his current company.”

”I’m glad someone can come to help you now,” Zhou Yun smiled, ”I suddenly feel that having a good agent is really important.”

”Why such a sudden realization?”

”I just thought of Su Yan’s agent; back then when we were filming ’Heart Inquiry,’ Su Yan refused to return to the set from the hospital, and her agent didn’t stop her, even adding fuel to the fire. If it were Sister Lan, she would definitely not allow me to do that. The most important thing for an actor is to act well, she always emphasizes this to me,” Zhou Yun said.

Hugh: ”Zhou Lan is good indeed.”

”When will your film wrap up?”

”Soon, the film will wrap this month, the exact time depends on the director’s progress,” Hugh said, ”What about you?”

”I’m also about to wrap up, it should be finished this month,” Zhou Yun said, ”Finally, I can take a proper rest.”

”Do you have time in August?” Hugh asked.

”Ah?” Zhou Yun was taken aback.

”If you’re free, then I’ll organize a small party,” Hugh said, ”Invite a few familiar friends to have some fun.”

Zhou Yun was surprised.

”I also haven’t had a break for a long time,” he said.
