Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 289: Chapter 251: Rise: 87

”I don’t like him.” Yuk Chu’s answer was very certain.

Zhou Yun was actually a bit curious.

”How can you be so sure that you don’t like him?” Zhou Yun said, ”Isn’t finding someone interesting generally the first step to falling in love with them?”

”That’s not it at all.” Yuk Chu said, ”Liking someone doesn’t feel like just finding them interesting.”

”Then what does it feel like?” Zhou Yun asked.

Yuk Chu said, ”Think about it yourself, what was it like when you started liking Song Chi, was it because you found him interesting?”

Zhou Yun was stumped by the question. After pondering awhile, she thought, indeed, that wasn’t the case.

”So what kind of guys do you like?” Zhou Yun asked.

”If we’re talking about looks, definitely someone like Song Chi, but personality-wise, someone a bit cooler.” Yuk Chu said, ”Last time I went to Song Chi’s house, I found that although he’s really handsome, he’s not my type. He’s a bit gentler than I imagined. I don’t really like such warm guys, I prefer someone cooler.”

”...Huh?”

Yuk Chu said, ”When you were in high school, were there any tall and thin boys who hardly spoke?”

Zhou Yun gave it some thought and realized that there indeed were.

”That’s the type I like.” Yuk Chu said.

Zhou Yun hadn’t expected that Yuk Chu already had a clear preference for the type she liked.

”Given that explanation, Ma Chunlin really doesn’t fit the type you like.”

”Yeah.” Yuk Chu’s voice had a hint of gloom, ”But once I reject him, we can’t be friends anymore, and I actually quite like being friends with him.”

Zhou Yun: ”Just talk to him properly, it’s not like you can’t be friends if you can’t be lovers.”

”I’d rather not hold onto that hope.”

Yuk Chu’s words also made Zhou Yun let out a sigh.

Pessimistic emotions spread.

But what Zhou Yun didn’t expect was that something even more ridiculous happened.

Wei Heyun suddenly came to her, wanting to hear her opinion.

This opinion referred to Wei Heyun planning to make a grand public confession to Yu Sitian on a huge screen at the Shanghai Wanda Building on her birthday.

Zhou Yun’s first reaction to this plan was ”If anyone dares to confess to me like this, I’d blacklist them forever.” It was too embarrassing and, moreover, too baffling.

Zhou Yun didn’t understand at all where the romance was in a public confession.

It was all about the thrill and the embarrassing lack of a way out.

”Mr. Wei, you shouldn’t go through with this. I see Yu Sitian as soft and fragile, she might not like this way of doing things, she might even get scared.” Zhou Yun chose her words carefully, trying not to sound too sharp, not to sting the heart of this love-struck young master, ”This kind of confession can be troubling, especially when... she doesn’t like you yet, right?”

Wei Heyun covered his own heart with one hand.

”Why are you so blunt? Can’t you be more subtle?”

His tone was somewhat irritable.

Zhou Yun unexpectedly felt that Wei Heyun seemed less unreachable in this state; he seemed more like a normal person. She started to laugh, her cautious awareness also began to relax a bit.

”Actually, I think you should face reality sooner.”

”I came here for your help.” Wei Heyun emphasized.

Zhou Yun said: ”I’m not a god, even Matchmaker Yue can’t just pair anyone together. Forced love is not sweet.”

Wei Heyun irritably waved his hand, frowning, ”Why do you have the same attitude?”

”Mr. Wei, have you ever been in love with another girl before?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wei Heyun: ”Why do you keep calling me Mr. Wei? Do I seem old to you?”

”Then I don’t know what to call you, we’ve only met twice,” Zhou Yun pointed out.

”You could just call me by my name. What’s this Mr. all about – what kind of master am I supposed to be.” Wei Heyun pouted, ”We’ve only met twice? It does seem strange; looking at you feels like I’ve known you for a long time.”

Zhou Yun stared in surprise.

”The way you say that... it sounds like you’re expressing a fondness for me?” Zhou Yun said.

”What are you thinking?” There was clear disdain in Wei Heyun’s eyes, an incredulous glare, ”How could I like you, the person I like is Yu Sitian.”

”Then I’m relieved.” Zhou Yun said, ”You haven’t answered my question yet, have you ever liked another girl?”

Wei Heyun shook his head.

”No.”

Zhou Yun: ”First love, huh? That can be tricky.”

”What’s tricky about it?” Wei Heyun asked, puzzled.

”It’s hard to get over a first love.” Zhou Yun said, ”It’s the first time in life.”

”What about your first love then?” Wei Heyun asked, ”Have you gotten over it?”

”My, my first love is none of your business, okay? It’s you who’s seeking my opinion, not the other way around,” Zhou Yun said sternly.

”Why are you angry? Isn’t Song Chi your first love?”

”None of your business, mind your own.”

Wei Heyun laughed brilliantly, ”It seems I hit the mark, who else have you liked in the past?”

Zhou Yun threatened: ”If you keep nagging me with these irrelevant questions, I’m going to leave.”

”So tell me, what can I do to touch Yu Sitian’s heart? You’re a girl too, around the same age as her, tell me how to do it.”

Wei Heyun’s tone was forceful but lacked the initial condescension.

Zhou Yun sighed, emphasizing seriously, ”Did you not listen to what I said before at all?”

”I don’t want to hear those things.” Wei Heyun’s tone became even more assertive.

Zhou Yun let out a helpless sigh.

”Wei Heyun, since you asked me to call you by name, I’ll do so, and don’t say I’m rude,” Zhou Yun said with one hand on her hip, ”Girls can’t be won by sheer effort, it’s not the same thing. You must be prepared for the possibility of not succeeding, in order to properly understand your relationship with Yu Sitian.”

Wei Heyun looked disdainfully at Zhou Yun, saying, ”Which guy would be prepared for failure while pursuing someone? Only a fool would do that.”

Zhou Yun was unexpectedly persuaded by Wei Heyun’s words.

Indeed... no guy would do that.

”Okay, okay, but you have to admit, you can’t always succeed at everything you want to do,” Zhou Yun said.

Wei Heyun thought for a moment, then said seriously and innocently, ”But I’ve never failed before.”

”...That’s because you have a capable family background.” Zhou Yun said, ”Ordinary people face failures in life.”

Wei Heyun: ”You and your moral lessons, I’m asking how I can win over Yu Sitian.”

”Then ask Yu Sitian, why are you asking me?” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m not Yu Sitian.”

Wei Heyun’s eyes suddenly lit up.

”You mean, I should ask Yu Sitian directly?” Wei Heyun had a look of sudden realization, ”Right.”
