Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 258: Chapter 220: Rising Phase: 56

”Resolve it? That’s not something that can be resolved.” He Yong never had any intentions of doing so, ”With two bombs, all you can do is move them to different places.”

”Then aren’t they both about to shoot the same film, Dingfengbo?” Yuh Jiangxing said.

He Yong: ”Let the coordinator separate their scenes, that’s all we can do for now.”

”What if Zhou Yun doesn’t feel relieved and continues to hold a grudge against you, cousin, what will you do?” Yuh Jiangxing asked.

He Yong glanced at Yuh Jiangxing and asked, ”Can’t you hope for something good for me?”

”How can that be? I’m just talking about what if,” Yuh Jiangxing said, ”We must prepare early too, in case she changes her mind and backstab us, leaving us unprepared.”

”It won’t come to that. She’s much smarter than you, having already made her stance clear initially, she wouldn’t revert back to her old ways, and Lu Yicheng wouldn’t believe her either,” He Yong said with a sigh, ”It’s just that this matter is indeed headache-inducing. If she refuses to cooperate in the future, I’ll be in a difficult position.”

”I’m telling you, Zhou Yun is just relying on having Song Chi backing her up and doesn’t even take the company or you seriously. Apart from her, which artist would dare to throw such an attitude at their own boss?” Yuh Jiangxing said. ”Even Li Ci has never thrown such attitude.”

”Li Ci is different after all,” He Yong said. ”If Zhou Yun was someone I groomed from the start, I wouldn’t care regardless of how much attitude she gave me today.”

”Cousin, as I see it, she’s just an artist anyway, who knows how long she’ll stay popular,” Yuh Jiangxing said carelessly, ”As long as we get through this difficult time now, with your vision and abilities, is it difficult to promote a couple of popular celebrities later? Let Zhou Yun regret it by then.”

He Yong didn’t say anything.

He thought to himself that if Zhou Yun was that kind of hollow celebrity, no matter how famous she became, it wouldn’t affect him.

But he knew Zhou Yun was different. She was too good at acting; he had seen the snippets from Heart Inquiry, he even considered how to help Zhou Yun win Best Supporting Actress. Zhou Yun also had good luck; many TV actors who wanted to move to the big screen needed plenty of effort and sometimes struggled to adapt. Yet, Zhou Yun’s movie career had been smoother than many movie-born actresses, first securing a supporting role in Warm Little Horse, then going against public opinion to shoot an art film, Life, and now she had even been picked by producer Shi Luoqi for the leading role in Falling Leaves.

Regardless of how these movies ended up, these opportunities came to Zhou Yun under the circumstance where she only had one flop film, Eighth Heartbeat, released.

Every year in the entertainment industry, many actresses like Zhou Yun rose to fame, but it seemed no one had better luck than her.

Luck was a mysterious thing, somewhat believed in by people in the circle.

He Yong had a premonition that as long as Zhou Yun didn’t sabotage herself, her path ahead would be long.

So, giving up on Zhou Yun? Forcing her into hiding? He Yong never even considered those options. He only had one path to take, and that was to improve his relationship with Zhou Yun.

Dingfengbo was a large drama crew.

Zhou Yun had just finished filming Life and was finding it a bit challenging to adjust back to a big, fully-staffed crew.

The director of Dingfengbo was called Director Cong, a very renowned director in the industry. However, TV dramas usually don’t glorify directors, so while he had directed many works, his fame wasn’t very prominent in the public eye.

When Zhou Yun joined the crew, Dingfengbo had already started filming a few days earlier.

Her first task was naturally to meet the director.

Director Cong was shooting a scene with Li Ci.

Li Ci’s acting was quite mediocre and he wasn’t very good at filming. But his popularity was so high that even if his acting wasn’t great, lots of producers and bosses still sought him out for roles, offering the best treatment as long as he was willing.

Simply put, Zhou Yun’s current pay wasn’t low, but Li Ci’s salary was still several times hers.

Zhou Yun didn’t have much to say about this, as you get what you pay for. Li Ci’s commercial value justified his price; his presence meant platforms were willing to spend several times more to purchase Dingfengbo.

Therefore, even though Li Ci was frequently NG (No Good takes), Director Cong had no signs of dissatisfaction, instead expressing concern about Li Ci’s frequent NGs affecting his mood, often saying comforting words to him.

Only when Director Cong was finally free did Zhou Yun go up to introduce herself.

”Director Cong, hello, I’m Zhou Yun.”

Director Cong naturally shook hands with Zhou Yun quickly.

”I’ve been waiting for you. You’ve finally arrived,” Director Cong said with a smile. ”Is everything settled?”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”Almost, I came specifically to report to you.”

”There’s no scene for you today, have a good rest, and we’ll have a good talk tomorrow,” Director Cong said.

Zhou Yun said, ”If you have time today, we can talk today too, I’m available anytime.”

”Sure, I’ll see how the filming goes later,” Director Cong said, ”If there’s time, I’ll come to find you.”

Dingfengbo, being a crime thriller detective drama, had a special set built for filming.

Zhou Yun hadn’t done her makeup and styling tests yet due to tight schedules. She expertly went to do her makeup and styling trial. She was to play a news reporter who specifically covered crime and thus had many interactions with the policeman played by Li Ci.

After the makeup artist finished her work, Zhou Yun looked left and right, shook her head, saying: ”I don’t usually need to make up so finely when I’m working; my profession doesn’t allow me to be so exquisite all the time, it’s better to be more casual.”

The makeup artist said, ”But it won’t look good on camera if it’s done like this.”

”If I appear on screen like this, it’s like I’m ready for a photo shoot anytime. It’s too unrealistic,” Zhou Yun stated.

After some negotiation, the makeup artist said, ”I can’t decide this directly, I need to ask for instructions.”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”Then you go ahead, I’ll check the clothes in the meantime.”

Upon checking the clothes, Zhou Yun was taken aback.

The clothes weren’t hideous, but the clothes prepared by the crew for her were all very fashionable, too fashionable, like a fashion blogger’s wardrobe.

”This won’t do, these clothes are too fashionable,” Zhou Yun said.

The stylist showed a troubled expression and said, ”But these clothes are provided by the sponsoring brands.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Is this all here?”

”That’s all for now.”

”How can this resemble the clothes a journalist covering societal news should wear?” Zhou Yun said, ”Moreover, they haven’t been made to look worn.”

Everyone didn’t expect Zhou Yun to have such substantial opinions.
