Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 284: Chapter 246: Rising Phase: 82

Xu Siyao did not show up at this event.

Avoiding suspicion?

The entertainment industry is complicated with people and events intertwined; no one knows who is involved with what behind the scenes.

Therefore, it’s best not to offend anyone and to be extremely careful.

There wasn’t any deep hatred between Zhou Yun and Yu Sitian, just some discord caused by Song Chi.

More than that, Zhou Yun wanted to know if Wei Heyun was aware of Yu Sitian’s feelings for Song Chi?

Logically, he should be aware.

If he knew, would Wei Heyun intentionally make things difficult for Song Chi because of it?

Zhou Yun subconsciously thought this.

At that moment, Song Chi entered.

His arrival always attracted much attention. The difference between Li Ci and Song Chi was right here, their popularity was almost equal, but when people talked about Song Chi, they referred to him as an actor, while Li Ci was described as a celebrity; the default was that Song Chi’s status was higher because he had many memorable roles that blended into his persona, creating a legendary aura.

Zhou Yun thought, even if Wei Heyun was annoyed by Yu Sitian liking Song Chi, he probably didn’t have the capability to hinder Song Chi.

Song Chi had been in the industry for many years; he wasn’t just there idly eating his rice.

After Song Chi entered the inner area, Zhou Yun distinctly felt that the atmosphere had changed somewhat. It seemed as if something in the air had been dyed, causing a restlessness to arise. Those people’s glances drifted over her in an almost imperceptible manner. Their intentions were clear without words; they were waiting, or perhaps expecting, something to happen.

Zhou Yun could guarantee that Li Ci felt the same way.

The love and hate among the three of them could be turned into a novel.

Those unbelievable twists and stories.

Zhou Yun held her glass, not making the first move towards Song Chi.

Luckily, Yuk Chu was also here today. With her around, Zhou Yun didn’t have to stand out awkwardly by herself. When the others’ gazes subtly passed over her, she could pretend to be joking with Yuk Chu, displaying an airy casualness.

Sometimes, just that bit of airy casualness, even though clearly pretended, could make her feel a bit more composed.

Yuk Chu whispered, ”Song Chi is walking over here.”

”Later, you must keep an eye on Li Ci for me. If that idiot is really persuaded by others to come over, you must pull me away in advance,” said Zhou Yun. ”I’m afraid I’ll be distracted and won’t notice if he comes.”

”Don’t worry,” Yuk Chu laughed.

Song Chi walked over.

”Hey, you two are chatting here, didn’t you notice I came?”

”We knew, but did you expect us to come over and greet you?” Zhou Yun whispered, ”So many people are waiting to see me throw myself at you.”

Song Chi quirked his lips.

”So when do you plan to throw yourself at me?”

”Heh, maybe in the next life,” Zhou Yun said.

”Brother Chi,” Yu Sitian came over with a coy attitude and called him sweetly.

Zhou Yun gave Song Chi a meaningful smile.

With one hand in his pocket, Song Chi caught Zhou Yun’s glance, raised an eyebrow helplessly, and gave a faint smile to Sitian, saying, ”So you’re here too.”

His tone was casual and distant.

Sitian’s expression suddenly looked a bit aggrieved, yet she dared not make it too obvious, gently biting her lip.

”Brother Chi, I had someone send you a box of chocolates I bought overseas, did you receive it?” Sitian said to Song Chi as if no one else was around, ”You mentioned before that you don’t want to accept expensive gifts, but chocolates should be okay, right?”

Her tone was cautious.

Song Chi said, ”I received it.”

In Sitian’s eyes, there seemed to be a burst of light, as if something brightened.

Zhou Yun saw joy spring onto her face.

Zhou Yun suddenly felt a bit jealous. Rationally, she thought she shouldn’t feel this way. Sitian placed her affection for Song Chi openly on her face, in front of everyone, so she could look at Song Chi unabashedly, revealing her true feelings. She couldn’t, not because someone stopped her, but because of her own calculations, her own decision. This was nobody’s fault but her own for making that decision. But human emotions are like unpredictable weather; when it wants to bring you a storm or a rain, you can’t stop it.

Suddenly, she completely understood Sitian’s former dislike for her.

It didn’t need a reason.

Sometimes, emotional changes aren’t because of a reason, but because something triggered them.

Zhou Yun admitted, she darkly envied Sitian for being able to do what she couldn’t.

Yuk Chu must have noticed, otherwise she wouldn’t suddenly hug her waist.

Zhou Yun turned her head and smiled at her.

Sitian still stood there, unmoved. Her eyes seemed to see no one but Song Chi. Such focused gazing was rare among today’s youth. Even Zhou Yun was startled by it. She pondered that she would never gaze at another person with such focus in her lifetime, not even Song Chi.

Song Chi nodded to Sitian politely and distantly, indicating that was it for now.

He turned his head, and said to Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu, ”Didn’t you say you wanted to take a photo together just now? Let’s do it.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”I’ll take it for the two of you.”

She took Yuk Chu’s phone from her hand.

”Just the two of us? You’re not in the photo?” Song Chi seemed a bit surprised.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll take one for you first, then we’ll take one together.”

Song Chi did as she said, standing with Yuk Chu for a photo.

Zheng Xiaojue actively said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, you should join, I’ll take one of you all together.”

Actually, there was no need for them to take it, people around were already taking photos of them.

But afterward, it wouldn’t be easy to ask these people for the photos, they could only take some themselves.

Zhou Yun was pulled into the middle by Song Chi and Yuk Chu.

Frequent flashes of cameras made Zhou Yun’s eyes ache. There were too many people wanting to greet and take photos; Zhou Yun hardly had a chance to talk properly to Song Chi. Both were celebrities and constantly approached by people, and soon they had to part.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect that Wei Heyun would come to find her.

”Miss Zhou.” Wei Heyun approached Zhou Yun politely, ”May I have a word with you?”

”Yes, go ahead,” Zhou Yun masked her surprise.

”I have a question I’d like to ask Miss Zhou, please answer it truthfully,” Wei Heyun remained polite.

Yet his posture and tone already carried a hint of condescension.

Please answer truthfully. Was this a request, or an order?

Zhou Yun looked at him.

”Are you and Song Chi actually boyfriend and girlfriend?” Wei Heyun asked.
