Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 287: Chapter 249: Rising Phase: 85

Zhou Yun slapped his forehead and said, ”Sister Lan, you’re thinking too far ahead.”

Zhou Lan said, ”I’m not joking with you. I don’t care about you young men and women accidentally firing, but make sure you take safety measures. You don’t want to get pregnant at a young age, do you?”

Zhou Yun didn’t want to continue discussing this topic with Zhou Lan and quickly stopped it, saying, ”Okay, okay, I won’t talk to you about this anymore, I’m hanging up.”

He ended the call as if it were a hot potato.

Song Chi’s housekeeper had already started bustling around.

Song Chi, who had opened the door for them, said, ”You guys are quite fast. I just got here.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Where are your friends?”

”Hey!” A tall man with a gentle face came over from the living room and smiled at them, ”Finally, we meet. Song Chi, this jerk, kept dragging his feet about letting us meet you.”

He came over to Zhou Yun enthusiastically and extended his hand, saying, ”I’m Ma Chunlin.”

”Hello, I’m Zhou Yun,” Zhou Yun said with a smile.

”Oh, has Zhou Yun arrived? Has he?” Suddenly, someone ran down from upstairs shouting while running.

Zhou Yun was startled and looked toward the newcomer.

This person was shorter, wearing a plaid shirt and black-framed glasses.

His eyes fixed on Zhou Yun, he stopped in his tracks, let out an exaggerated ”wow,” and then said, ”You’re so pretty in person!”

Zhou Yun was a bit overwhelmed by the compliment.

”Hello, hello, I’m Li Ge,” said the man with the black-framed glasses, equally enthusiastic as he extended his hand to Zhou Yun.

”Hello, hello.”

Zhou Yun looked awkwardly at Song Chi for help.

Song Chi knocked on the heads of Li Ge and Ma Chunlin, ”You two, tone it down.”

Ma Chunlin draped his arm around Song Chi’s neck and told Zhou Yun, ”Come on in.”

Acting even more like the host than Song Chi.

”Talk amongst yourselves; I’ll go get the wine,” said Song Chi.

”Go ahead, we’ll take good care of your girlfriend,” Ma Chunlin said.

Song Chi, Ma Chunlin, and Li Ge were high school classmates and have been close friends ever since.

”Chunlin is a lawyer, specializes in divorce cases,” Li Ge introduced to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun looked at Ma Chunlin in surprise, ”A lawyer? Wow.”

Yuk Chu also let out a surprised sound.

”What?” Ma Chunlin paused, holding a kitchen knife, brows furrowed in confusion, ”Why the wow? Is there something surprising?”

”I thought lawyers were very serious,” said Zhou Yun truthfully, ”I didn’t expect there to be lively lawyers like you. You know, lawyers usually seem very stern, in suits and all. You look kinder and cuter, not as fierce as a typical lawyer.”

Li Ge was shaking with laughter.

Ma Chunlin glanced at him and said, ”What are you laughing at?”

Li Ge told Zhou Yun, ”Your reaction is exactly like ours when he first told us he was studying law. We were just as baffled.”

”How did you guys become friends?” Zhou Yun asked curiously.

She had her own motives, wanting to learn more about Song Chi’s past from Ma Chunlin and Li Ge.

Li Ge said with a smile, ”In high school, Song Chi was very handsome. Ma Chunlin couldn’t stand it, especially since the girl he liked had a crush on Song Chi, so Ma Chunlin picked a fight with Song Chi, and that’s how they met.”

”Hey, can you leave me some face?” Ma Chunlin protested loudly.

Zhou Yun’s eyes lit up, and she fiddled with her hair casually, asking, ”Many girls must have liked Song Chi back in high school, right?”

Ma Chunlin and Li Ge both paused in their actions.

Ma Chunlin said, ”Li Ge was Song Chi’s classmate; he knows better.”

Li Ge immediately put down the dish in his hands and said, ”But it was you who fought with Song Chi, so you obviously know better.”

”No, that’s not what I meant,” Zhou Yun hurriedly said. ”I just casually asked. If it’s inconvenient for you to say, then forget it—I—I admit, I just wanted to ask if Song Chi had ever been in a relationship during high school?”

”Wow!” Ma Chunlin and Li Ge exclaimed exaggeratedly at the same time.

Li Ge swallowed and said, ”You better ask him that question yourself.”

At that moment, Song Chi came over with two bottles of champagne.

He heard the last sentence Li Ge said and asked, ”What question?”

Everyone looked at each other.

Seeing this, Song Chi frowned, ”What’s up? Is it still inconvenient to tell me?”

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”I asked them if you had been in a relationship in high school, and they wouldn’t tell me. They really are your good friends.”

Song Chi curled his lips.

”Do you want to know if I’ve been in a relationship?” He walked over to Zhou Yun, set down the champagne bottles, and asked, ”Would you rather I had been or had not?”

Zhou Yun thought seriously for a moment and said, ”I really hope you haven’t been, but if you haven’t, I might wonder if there’s something wrong with you.”

”Wow!” Ma Chunlin’s eyes widened.

”Is this a conversation we should be hearing?” Li Ge mimicked with wide eyes.

Two jokers.

As Zhou Yun’s friend, Yuk Chu just had to help her clear these obstacles.

”All right, you two, why don’t you come help me figure out how to turn on the TV,” Yuk Chu said, ”Your guest tonight isn’t just Zhou Yun, okay? There’s someone else here too.”

”Sorry, that was rude of us.” Ma Chunlin bowed artificially.

Li Ge slapped Ma Chunlin on the back of his head and said, ”Yuk Chu, are you still single? Ma Chunlin just got dumped by his girlfriend; he’s single now.”

Yuk Chu: ”...I better figure out the TV by myself.”

Ma Chunlin cast a disapproving glance at Li Ge and followed, ”Let me help you look at it.”

Li Ge looked at those two, then at the other two, and followed Ma Chunlin.

Now only Zhou Yun and Song Chi were left.

”Your two friends, they have quite different personalities from you,” Zhou Yun said. ”Very lively.”

”They’ve always been like this, you’ll get used to it,” Song Chi said, ”They are really good people.”

”Mhm, I know, they are your friends.” Zhou Yun looked around, ”So, what should we do now? What else needs to be prepared for the vegetable soup?”

Suddenly, Song Chi embraced Zhou Yun from behind.

”It’s already ready.”

”Hey, what are you doing?” Zhou Yun gently slapped Song Chi’s hand.

Her cheeks were slightly red.

Song Chi said, ”I thought you didn’t care about my past at all. If you want to know something, just ask me directly, I’m absolutely honest with you.”

”Asking you would be too embarrassing, but your friends really keep tight-lipped,” Zhou Yun laughed.

”My friends,” Song Chi said, ”But they like you too, and you’ll become friends with them in the future.”
