Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 290: Chapter 252: Rising Phase: 88

Right? Right about what!

Zhou Yun was shocked by Wei Heyun’s bizarre thought process, but Wei Heyun, looking like he had cracked the code with excitement, didn’t wait for Zhou Yun to say anything. He turned around and walked away, eagerly heading forward.

”Wait a minute! Wei Heyun, you—”

Zhou Yun was pulled back by Zhou Lan.

”Xiao Yun.”

Zhou Lan looked at her with a strange expression and asked, ”Since when have you and Wei Heyun become so close?”

Zhou Yun watched Wei Heyun disappear, sighed, then turned to Zhou Lan and said, ”If I tell you the reason, you’d think it’s inconceivable.”

Zhou Lan’s expression became even more astonished.

”What do you mean?”

Zhou Yun: ”He came to consult me on how to pursue Yu Sitian.”

Zhou Lan’s face showed an expression of disbelief.

Zhou Yun made a gesture that meant ’let’s leave it at that’, ”Don’t ask me what happened or why. I myself am completely baffled.”

”I saw him leave with a happy face.”

”I reckon he’ll come back to me in a rage soon enough.” Zhou Yun sighed in exasperation, ”I was grabbed by you just now, otherwise I would’ve made things clear to him no matter what.”

”How could you make things clear to him? A rich young master like him who’s grown up pampered, he only ever hears what he wants to hear.” Zhou Lan mocked.

”That’s actually true. No matter how much I reasoned with him just now, he couldn’t be bothered to listen.”

Who knew, the person who eventually came to confront her wasn’t Wei Heyun, but Yu Sitian.

It wasn’t with a phone call, but with her storming angrily into Zhou Yun’s dressing room, pushing open the door.

This was the location for the advertisement shoot, where Zhou Yun was about to film soon.

Zhou Yun didn’t even know how Yu Sitian had managed to find this place, let alone locate the door to her particular dressing room.

”Zhou Yun, what are you scheming, stirring up trouble behind my back? You think by tricking Wei Heyun into pursuing me, I’ll leave you and Brother Chi alone? You and Brother Chi will never be possible, I will never allow the two of you to be together!” Yu Sitian screamed furiously.

Zhou Yun was initially bewildered, then finally came to her senses.

”Don’t misunderstand, whatever Wei Heyun did, I have nothing to do with it...”

”Still pretending?” Yu Sitian spat at Zhou Yun disdainfully, ”I know exactly what you’re playing at!”

Zhou Yun: ”What am I playing at?”

Yu Sitian stepped closer to Zhou Yun, from her hair to her toes exuding contempt and mockery towards Zhou Yun, ”What are you pretending for?”

Zhou Yun furrowed her brows.

Yu Sitian: ”Just you wait!”

She said, ”I will definitely not let you off so easily!”

The harsh words Yu Sitian left behind were like thunder out of a clear sky.

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded for a long while before looking up to see Zhou Lan, who had arrived late.

”Did Sitian leave?” Zhou Lan carefully checked Zhou Yun over, saw no signs of dishevelment, and breathed a sigh of relief, ”She didn’t do anything to you, did she?”

”She said she wouldn’t let me off so easily.” Zhou Yun said, ”What’s going on with me? Why is everyone saying they won’t let me off?”

Zhou Lan: ”Don’t bother with them, they’re all crazy.”

”This is such an unprovoked disaster. How does this even involve me?” Zhou Yun was truly frustrated, ”I’m seriously doubting whether I’m just incompatible with this entertainment industry.”

”If you’re incompatible with this entertainment industry, then what about those who can’t make it big no matter what? Who doesn’t run into idiots? Don’t blame yourself.” Zhou Lan said, ”Yu Sitian doesn’t have the capability to lay a finger on you. She can only handle her own little territory; otherwise, why would she just threaten you?”

Yu Sitian’s threats reached the ears of both Song Chi and Wei Heyun.

Song Chi hurried back to Shanghai that evening and first thing, he brought the gift he had bought over to Zhou Yun’s home.

Pressing the doorbell.

Zhou Yun had already changed into pajamas and was putting on a face mask. She hadn’t received any prior notice about Song Chi’s visit and was quite surprised. If she had known he was coming, she wouldn’t have changed into her pajamas so quickly. In the summer, the thin pajamas revealed too much, so Zhou Yun had no choice but to drape a thin blanket over herself.

”Did Yu Sitian give you trouble again?” Song Chi asked as soon as he entered.

Zhou Yun replied, ”Sister Lan told you, huh? Didn’t I tell her not to tell you?”

”It wasn’t her who told me; someone else did,” Song Chi said. ”Too many mouths make it hard to keep things secret.”

It was just a resting room prepared for her by the advertisers, Yu Sitian’s causing trouble was hardly quiet, with people coming and going, so it was normal for others to bump into the scene.

Zhou Yun muttered, ”These things always spread so fast.”

Song Chi said, ”That girl Yu Sitian is just spoiled by the people around her. Don’t let her threats scare you. I won’t let her threaten you, rest assured.”

Zhou Yun smirked and said, ”Of course, this mess was caused by you in the first place, so naturally, you have to deal with it. If it weren’t for you, would she have such a grudge against me?”

Song Chi laughed, looking innocent.

”When I was recording a show in Yunnan, there was a coffee shop there with really good coffee. I bought two bags of coffee beans for you to try.”

That was the gift he brought.

Zhou Yun liked coffee, and he knew that.

Zhou Yun said with delight, ”That’s great!”

But usually, Zhou Yun wasn’t often at home to brew her own coffee.

She thought of something and said, ”I won’t be able to finish so much, why don’t you take a bag back yourself?”

Song Chi replied, ”No need, when I feel like drinking it, I’ll come to your place.”

”Hey hey hey, so there’s an ulterior motive to your gift? It’s not pure at all,” Zhou Yun teased.

Song Chi laughed, and when he laughed, slight wrinkles formed at the corners of his eyes.

There was a unique charm to it.

”The obvious intent like Sima Zhao’s heart,” Song Chi said with an air of being completely candid.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh.

She liked times like these, easygoing and relaxed.

”It’s getting late, do you have a schedule tomorrow?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi answered, ”I have a meeting with a director tomorrow, are you free at noon? Want to have lunch together?”

Zhou Yun showed an apologetic face and said, ”I have to go to Hangzhou for an event tomorrow at noon.”

Song Chi replied, ”Then it won’t work.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Yeah.”

The two of them suddenly had nothing to say.

The room quieted down, with only a few sounds preventing the space from becoming absolutely silent.

Their gazes intertwined and merged.

Zhou Yun could guarantee that at this moment, Song Chi was definitely more restless than she was.

”I’ll pour you a glass of water,” Zhou Yun suddenly stood up.

A certain process was interrupted.

Song Chi gave a light cough, nodded, and said, ”Okay.”

Zhou Yun went to pour water for Song Chi and just took out a glass from the cupboard when suddenly someone wrapped their arms around her waist from behind.

The friction between their skin sparked a tingling sensation.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but shiver.
