Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 282: Chapter 244: Rising Phase: 80

The heat on the internet has cooled down, but some media still won’t let this go.

”No no no, I really don’t know Li Ci well at all.”

Faced with the journalist’s sudden question, Zhou Yun made her stance very clear.

That evening, at a fashion gala, Zhou Yun walked the red carpet in a white dress designed by Zheng Xiaowen herself, looking like a fairy, but responded helplessly to past rumors with Li Ci during the interview section.

Zhou Yun certainly did not want to be associated with Li Ci.

Just thinking about Li Ci’s bizarre ideas and his attitude towards sleeping with Xu Siyao made Zhou Yun feel physically sick.

”You shot ’Dingfengbo’ together, aren’t you familiar?” the journalist asked.

Zhou Yun answered with a smile, ”Must avoid suspicion.”

”But you and Song Chi don’t seem to avoid suspicion,” the journalist took another tack, catching a loophole.

Zhou Yun thought to herself that the journalist’s questions were really tricky.

She could only parry with, ”Who says? You don’t know if we avoided suspicion then.”

”But later you shot a drama and a variety show together,” the journalist pointed out.

Zhou Yun kept her composure and responded, ”Avoiding suspicion with Li Ci doesn’t mean we won’t ever shoot a drama or a variety show together.”

”Then why do you often meet up for meals with Song Chi in private, but avoid Li Ci? Could it be...” before the journalist could finish the question, Zhou Yun, pretending not to hear, brightened her eyes and, seeing Lew Qingqing coming from the other side, eagerly walked back from the interview area, grabbed Lew Qingqing’s hand, and gave her a warm hug.

Lew Qingqing looked confused and disoriented, whispering, ”What are you doing?”

”Some journalist was too annoying; I’m borrowing you for a moment,” Zhou Yun let go of Lew Qingqing and, holding her hand, said, ”You look absolutely beautiful today!”

Naturally, Lew Qingqing also displayed her top-notch red-carpet and on-camera acting, saying, ”You look beautiful too.”

The two women hugged each other’s waists and left a photo together on the red carpet.

Such scenes, of course, are adored by the cameras.

Flashes wove together into a sea of light.

The image of two beautiful women embracing shone particularly brightly and warmly.

This event was attended not only by Zhou Yun but Song Chi and Li Ci as well.

Li Ci had already entered the inner arena, with Song Chi walking the red carpet later.

After the scandal, the three had not appeared together, this was the first time.

But Zhou Yun did not refuse to attend this time, an important factor being that VX was the official sponsor of this event. As a newly appointed spokesperson, she had to attend.

After posing with Lew Qingqing, Zhou Yun entered the venue first, while Lew Qingqing went to the interview area.

The journalists who had been waiting in the interview area cursed silently.

Zhou Yun was getting trickier to handle.

Inside the venue, there were no external media, but photographers invited by the organizers were there.

Eventually, the official website would post behind-the-scenes footage.

”Xiao Yun!” As soon as she entered, her good friend Yuk Chu came over. She had also received an invitation that evening.

Zhou Yun grabbed Yuk Chu’s hand, saying, ”You look so lovely today.”

Yuk Chu responded, ”Don’t humble me; I dare not compete with you in beauty. Is Song Chi here yet? Has he not entered?”

Zhou Yun smiled knowingly, ”Not yet, but don’t worry; I will definitely get you a photo with your idol in a moment.”

They chatted.

”Zhou Yun!” Wen Xi strode over with long steps.

”Wen Xi!” Zhou Yun embraced Wen Xi warmly and introduced her, ”Yuk Chu, my good friend, and also an actress.”

Yuk Chu greeted Wen Xi.

Just then, a photographer came over, suggesting to take a group photo of the three of them.

Zheng Xiaojue was holding a phone next to the photographer and also helped to take several photos.

After the photographer finished, Wen Xi immediately turned to Zhou Yun.

”Any pestering by journalists?” Wen Xi joked, ”You’ve been quite the sensation lately.”

”Ah, it’s so annoying, all based on groundless accusations, but they make it sound so real,” Zhou Yun asked, ”Did Jin Su come today?”

”He didn’t, he’s got a role in a drama and is currently on set,” Wen Xi remarked.

”He got the role? Congratulations to him,” Zhou Yun said.

Wen Xi sighed, ”Don’t mention it, he’s still mad at me for not wanting to introduce him to people in the film and television industry to get him some roles.”

Zhou Yun grunted in response.

”Let’s not talk about these displeasing matters. Are you prepared for tonight? Everyone is looking forward to seeing you three together,” Wen Xi said, ”I just saw someone wanting to get a photo of you and Li Ci.”

”If there really is such a clueless person, you must help me kick him out,” Zhou Yun stated.

Wen Xi laughed loudly.

At that moment, Lew Qingqing came in.

She didn’t bring her young boyfriend with her today but came alone.

As soon as she entered, she headed straight for Zhou Yun.

”Using me as a shield, Zhou Yun, since when have we been so close?” Lew Qingqing questioned.

”Next time something like this happens, you come to me to be your shield; those journalists are just too annoying, and you know it,” Zhou Yun mentioned.

Lew Qingqing rolled her eyes.

”You might dodge the fifteenth, but not the first.”

”Why didn’t you bring your boyfriend today?” Zhou Yun inquired.

Recently, Lew Qingqing always brought her boyfriend along to any public events.

”He had an audition and couldn’t make it back,” Lew Qingqing explained.

”Wow, everyone’s auditioning?” Zhou Yun remarked.

Lew Qingqing puzzled, ”Who else is auditioning?”

”You don’t know him,” at that moment, Zhou Yun spotted someone, ”Hey, Chen Wenjun is here today too; did you know?”

Hearing her ex-boyfriend’s name, Lew Qingqing rolled her eyes again, saying, ”So he’s here, what does it have to do with me?”

”He’s walking towards us,” Zhou Yun said.

Lew Qingqing frowned, turned around, and saw Chen Wenjun just two steps away from them.

”Hi,” Chen Wenjun greeted the women present with a smile, holding a glass of wine.

Zhou Yun and Wen Xi both knew Chen Wenjun and exchanged pleasantries.

Lew Qingqing acted as if he didn’t exist, looking away.

Chen Wenjun also bypassed her, turning to Yuk Chu, ”And who is this?”

He gave Zhou Yun a pleading look that was gentlemanly and didn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable.

Chen Wenjun, as the head of Seapool Film and Television, was someone Zhou Yun was happy to help her friend meet.

”Yuk Chu, also a great actress,” Zhou Yun introduced.

”Oh, Miss Yuk, hello, I’m Chen Wenjun,” Chen Wenjun extended his hand warmly.

Yuk Chu, flattered, shook hands with Chen Wenjun.

Suddenly, Lew Qingqing said to Yuk Chu, ”You should be careful; some men may seem polite but are actually irresponsible jerks.”
