Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 286: Chapter 248: Rising Phase: 84

”I don’t like Zhou Yun? Who said that? Nonsense.”

Inside the venue, an invited reporter was chatting with Lew Qingqing, curiously seeking confirmation of the news she had heard.

Lew Qingqing emphatically denied the rumors of discord between her and Zhou Yun.

”If I didn’t like Zhou Yun, why would I have taken a photo with her on the red carpet just now? She is a great actress, and I really admire her.”

The reporter was shocked, ”Really?”

Lew Qingqing touched the reporter’s cheek and said, ”Of course it’s true.”

After she finished, she revealed a typical Celebrity smile, looked up, waved to someone else, and walked over, ”Darling, long time no see.”

”Lew Qingqing, you look too gorgeous today.”

”Not at all, just so-so,” Lew Qingqing said, and called for them to take a photo together.

Just then, Zhou Yun walked by.

”Zhou Yun, come and join us for a photo,” someone called out.

Zhou Yun walked over.

Lew Qingqing grabbed Zhou Yun’s hand and whispered, ”I heard you and Wei Heyun caught each other’s eye? That was quick.”

”Nonsense, pure gibberish,” Zhou Yun denied.

”Who knows if it’s true or not, anyway, you always have so many scandals. Any man who gets a bit close to you ends up in rumors with you,” Lew Qingqing said.

”That’s just because people nowadays can’t bear to see a normal woman having a normal conversation with a normal man. As soon as two people stand together, hmm, these two must be involved,” Zhou Yun said sarcastically.

Lew Qingqing: ”It’s better not, don’t waste your effort on Wei Heyun, everyone knows he likes Yu Sitian.”

”Keep that reminder for yourself, next time don’t drag others into your fights. Whether you and Chen Wenjun fight or argue, that’s your business.”

”You yourself said, if I need it, you have to be my shield,” Lew Qingqing hugged Zhou Yun’s waist, smiled radiantly, ”Don’t forget who it was that came up to hug me on the red carpet.”

”That doesn’t mean I have to go to great lengths to help.”

The photo session ended.

A noisy event proceeded into the night, and Zhou Yun wanted to leave.

”Let’s leave together,” Song Chi said.

”Leave together? There must be quite a few reporters waiting outside, right?” Zhou Yun said, ”Getting caught on camera wouldn’t be good.”

”I’ll be in Shanghai tonight, how about we drink some more?” Song Chi suggested, ”Do you have work early tomorrow?”

”No, but I’ve had quite a bit to drink already tonight,” Zhou Yun said, ”I really haven’t had enough to eat though.”

”How about late-night snacks?”

”Snacks? I can’t, Sister Lan absolutely forbids me from eating those,” Zhou Yun sighed, ”These events are always so superficial.”

”How about coming over to my place?” Song Chi suggested, ”I can make you some vegetable soup.”

”Uh, Song Chi, are you inviting me to stay the night?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi, hands in his pockets, smiled somewhat sheepishly.

”If you’re worried about it just being the two of us, I can invite a few more friends,” Song Chi said, ”My house has plenty of rooms, each person can have their own.”

Zhou Yun asked with a peculiar expression, ”Which friends are you planning to invite?”

”Um...” Song Chi said, ”I need to make a call first.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh.

”Alright, alright, then make your call, and I’ll ask as well, see which friends would like to join me for a second round,” Zhou Yun said, ”Hopefully your vegetable soup can win over me and my friends.”

Yuk Chu asked in surprise, ”Is it really okay for me to go?”

Faced with Zhou Yun’s invitation, Yuk Chu was astonished.

Zhou Yun said, ”Please help, it’s too obvious if I go alone.”

Yuk Chu said, ”But... wouldn’t I be like a third wheel?”

She looked concerned.

”Not at all, he’ll also invite some of his friends, just to hang out,” Zhou Yun said, ”We can even sleep together tonight.”

Yuk Chu smiled as she recalled something, saying, ”We haven’t slept together in a long time.”

Back when the two were filming that drama together, they had once shared a bed.

Unlike Zhou Yun, Yuk Chu had a much happier childhood. She was pretty and loved by everyone. Liking Song Chi and seeing him as a Celebrity idol, she tried her hand at acting, though not very successfully, but unlike many perpetually frustrated actors, she never faced a situation where she had no films to shoot. Girls raised in such an environment tend to be more charming than not. Sometimes Zhou Yun envied this somewhat vulgar charm in Yuk Chu, which is why she liked Yuk Chu and became friends with her.

”Alright, Xiao Yun, I’ll come with you, but I can’t stay too late, I can’t pull an all-nighter anymore,” Yuk Chu said.

Zhou Yun hugged Yuk Chu, saying, ”Thank you!”

This was essentially a date. Since that hand-holding incident, there had been a real progression. Even though this date was disguised as a group gathering.

Ten minutes later, Zhou Yun and Song Chi met up again.

”So, did you find some friends?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi smiled and nodded, saying, ”I called a couple of friends, I’ll introduce you later.”

”Not friends from the industry?” Zhou Yun asked, surprised.

”No, they are friends from my high school,” Song Chi said, ”I’ve been telling them that I should formally introduce you, but it kept getting delayed.”

”What does that mean?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi responded, ”A long time ago, I told them that I liked you.”

Zhou Yun’s eyes widened in shock.

Song Chi looked down and chuckled, ”Honestly, they’ve helped me a lot in pursuing you.”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, ”So your two friends already knew me, but today is the first time I’m meeting them.”

”Don’t be nervous, they are good people, we’ve known each other for a long time.”

Zhou Yun felt somewhat disadvantaged; she didn’t have a similarly long-time friend with whom she could have privately shared her story with Song Chi over the past year.

”Let’s go.”

”Let’s.”

Zhou Yun got into her car with Yuk Chu, while Song Chi still used his own car.

”Xiao Cao, after you drop us off you can go home and rest, no need to wait for me, just come to pick me up tomorrow,” Zhou Yun instructed.

Xiao Cao hesitated and said, ”Can I report this to Sister Lan? Sister Lan said, if you don’t come home at night, I need to report it.”

Xiao Cao’s tone was cautious.

The people around her were strictly managed by Zhou Lan, and she could receive news about Zhou Yun’s situations immediately.

Zhou Yun sighed and said, ”Go ahead and report.”

As it turned out, before Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu had even reached Song Chi’s house, Zhou Lan had already called Zhou Yun, reminding her, ”Make sure he uses protection.”
