The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Whatever She Offers, I’ll Double It!_1

The sound of high heels striking the ground could be heard as Kylie Martinez’s figure appeared at the corner.

”Sister Ling, save me!”

The man kneeling on the ground called out in a piteous voice, now somewhat panicked. If Carson Flores was really acquainted with Kylie Martinez, then he was done for.

Whether what Carson Flores said was true or false, it couldn’t hurt to sound more miserable.

Kylie Martinez walked over, followed by a middle-aged man with an agile figure and sharp eyes. His gaze landed on Carson Flores, filled with wariness; clearly, he was Kylie Martinez’s bodyguard.

Carson Flores inwardly sighed; cultivation families really did provide tight protection for their descendants, nearly every one of them had a bodyguard by their side, and those he had seen like Leonard Reid, Remy Johnston, Camille Rhodes, and Kylie Martinez all had bodyguards, and their strengths were formidable.

Some of these bodyguards were hired for a high salary, but many more were trained by the families themselves.

Ordinary people, even if they had talent for cultivation, would likely not be able to afford the costs of cultivation, but cultivation families had massive resources. Thus, they would recruit potential Cultivators, provide resources for them, help them improve their strength, help them grow, and in return, they served the families.

This was as if a company saw a promising employee and paid for their overseas training, enhancing their skills. In return, the employee had to work for the company for a number of years to regain their freedom, or else they’d face a hefty breach of contract fee.

For the selected Cultivators, it wasn’t a bad deal at all. What cultivation families lacked the least was money, and the rewards for risking their lives to work for them were extremely generous.

Even though they lost a bit of freedom, being sheltered under a big tree was advantageous. As part of a cultivation family, they had both money and status; plus, with the family’s pampering, many stayed for a lifetime once they joined.

Kylie Martinez looked at the man’s exaggeratedly broken leg, and a trace of anger appeared on her face.

To beat up one of her own people on Martinez Family turf was a complete disregard for her, for the Martinez Family’s face.

Even though this was just a lackey who ran errands for her on a daily basis and wasn’t a very important person, there was still a saying about watching the master before hitting the dog.

Because it was already dark and this place was a shadowed area against the light, Kylie Martinez didn’t recognize Carson Flores as she approached. When she got close and turned her head to look at him, her angry expression suddenly became stupefied.

”Carson Flores?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Miss Martinez.”

Kylie Martinez looked at Carson Flores in surprise, ”You’re the one who injured him?”

Carson Flores calmly replied, ”Yes.”

Kylie Martinez furrowed her brow, ”Why?”

Carson Flores pointed towards the uneasy Chaim Stout, ”He and I have a grudge. Your fellow stepped in to stand up for him, wanted me to kneel and apologize or else he’d break my legs and force me to kneel.”

Kylie Martinez’s gaze was touched with a hint of surprise, ”So you broke his leg?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”It’s only fair, isn’t it?”

Kyle Martinez looked at Carson Flores, her eyes showing astonishment, then turned to Chaim Stout, ”You have a grudge against Carson Flores?”

Chaim Stout was entirely numb by now.

Carson Flores actually did know Kylie Martinez, and the way he spoke to her wasn’t with any humility or extra caution, which made Chaim Stout realize he had screwed up again today.

”Miss Martinez, he beat up a bunch of my guys, so I brought people to trouble him. But because others stepped in to mediate, it ended unresolved. Seeing him here today, I just wanted to teach him a lesson. I didn’t know he was friends with you, Miss Martinez...”

Kyle Martinez chuckled, ”He and I aren’t really friends. We met for the first time today. Why did he beat your guys?”

Chaim Stout was slightly embarrassed, ”My guys took someone’s request to make trouble at the entrance of a factory, and he, being a security guard, came out to chase people away, and then a fight broke out...”

”Security guard?”

Kyle Martinez’s eyes suddenly widened in shock as she looked at Carson Flores, ”You said you work as a security guard?”

Carson Flores answered naturally, ”Yes.”

Kyle Martinez suddenly laughed, ”Camille Rhodes is so close to you, does she think you’re good at fighting, have a promising future, and so wants to pull you into the Rhodes Family, to take you under her wing?”

Carson Flores was surprised, how did she suddenly jump to that conclusion?

Kylie Martinez, seeing the surprise on Carson Flores’s face, thought she had guessed right and immediately chuckled, ”What conditions has she offered you? Come to me, and I’ll double it.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Miss Martinez, you’ve misunderstood. There’s no business between her and me, we’re just friends.”

”Not courting you?”

Kylie Martinez looked at Carson Flores in surprise, ”Then why is she so close, so kind to you, could it be she really fancies you and wants you to become a son-in-law of the Rhodes Family?”

Camille Rhodes?

A son-in-law of the Rhodes Family?

The man on the ground stopped wailing and even shrank his foot back, lest he become the target of Carson Flores and Kylie Martinez’s attention. He wished there was a crack in the ground he could squeeze into.

Chaim Stout’s face turned two shades paler, his forehead beading with even more sweat.

Having just heard Kylie Martinez say that she and Carson Flores were meeting for the first time, not friends, Chaim Stout had just breathed a sigh of relief, but how did the topic suddenly turn to Miss Rhodes of the Rhodes Family, and it seemed that she had a very close relationship with Carson Flores?

Chaim Stout’s mind went blank, despairingly wanting to curse his luck.

You’re so formidable, having this kind of relationship with Miss Rhodes, and you work as a security guard?

Have you gone mad?
