The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Heroic Overlord_1

You’ve guessed it right!

Carson Flores laughed, ”Don’t let your mind wander.”

Samantha Tate made a sound of acknowledgement, ”I’m just thinking about nothing, that’s all.”

Soon, the two arrived at the hotel entrance, and Carson Flores stopped, ”Alright, go on up.”

Samantha Tate blinked, ”Aren’t you going to walk me to my room?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”My resistance to beauty is rather weak, and I fear I can’t withstand its corruption. So, for me, the best thing to do is to keep myself out of danger.”

Samantha Tate slapped Carson Flores lightly and pouted, ”Then just a kiss!”

Carson Flores smiled and gave Samantha Tate a kiss. She happily hugged Carson Flores and then turned to enter the hotel.

Carson Flores watched Samantha Tate’s brisk figure and zoned out slightly.

In the past, he had never thought there would be a woman who loved him so recklessly and passionately, like a moth flying towards a flame.

How could he bear to hurt such a woman?

...

The next day at noon, Davis Bernard called Carson Flores into his office and slapped a stack of cash in front of him.

”Ten thousand bonus!”

Having mentioned it before, Carson Flores didn’t waste words and directly took it, smiling, ”I’ll take it then, without any courtesies.”

Davis Bernard smiled, ”It was always meant to be yours.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Then tonight, I’ll treat all the off-duty employees to dinner and drinks. As for those who are working and can’t join, I’ll give each a cigarette as compensation.”

Davis Bernard instructed, ”Just buy the cigarettes that cost about ten bucks a pack.”

”Deal!”

After Davis Bernard announced this, there was a chorus of cheers.

No one had any objections to Carson Flores receiving the bonus alone, since he had earned it with his abilities, and they hadn’t helped at all. Even if it were given to them, they would not have the face to accept it.

The dining place wasn’t at the usual food stall but at a seafood stall not far from the pharmaceutical factory.

If he was treating, it ought to be generous.

Excluding the security on duty, the remaining staff neatly filled one large round table.

Carson Flores ordered a large table full of fish, shrimp, and crab, along with several cases of beer, and everyone started drinking boisterously.

Just after he took a bite, Carson Flores’ phone rang.

Leonard Reid.

”Mr. Flores, are you in Seashore?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Yes, work demands. I’ll be staying here for a while.”

Leonard Reid complained, ”Mr. Flores, that’s really keeping your distance. You’re in Seashore and didn’t even give me a heads-up. Had I not talked to old Gu, I wouldn’t have known.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Well, I didn’t really have anything on, and you’re busy, so I didn’t want to bother you.”

Leonard Reid was straightforward, ”No matter how busy, it won’t stop us from eating and drinking, right? Where are you now? I’m coming to join you for a drink.”

Carson Flores responded, ”I’m by the pharmaceutical plant number six, currently drinking with colleagues. I’m treating tonight, so it’s not convenient for me to leave.”

Leonard Reid laughed heartily, ”Pharmaceutical plant number six, that’s not far. Well, since you’re treating, you won’t mind me crashing the meal, right?”

With Leonard Reid putting it like that, Carson Flores naturally couldn’t refuse, ”We’re just at the roadside food stall with our factory’s security staff. If you don’t mind, I can send you the location. We’ve just started.”

Leonard Reid laughed, ”Mind? In summer, drinking beer at a food stall is awesome. I, a rough guy like me, love that the most.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Alright, I’ll send you the location. I’m working as a security guard at the factory, so just call me by my name, and please don’t call me Mr. Flores.”

”A security guard?”

Leonard Reid paused for a moment, but smartly didn’t ask further, and quickly agreed, ”Alright, I’ll call you by your name, and you don’t call me ’Mr. Reid’ either, just Leonard will do.”

”Deal!”

Half an hour later, Leonard Reid’s car parked about fifty meters away from the food stall, and Leonard Reid walked over from the roadside.

”Carson Flores.”

Carson Flores looked up and instantly smiled.

Leonard Reid was dressed in a big T-shirt, shorts, sandals, and the watch worth millions usually on his wrist was absent. His attire was totally down-to-earth, and he looked perfectly at ease in it.

Leonard Reid plopped down next to Carson Flores and introduced himself with a smile, ”Leonard Reid, but you all can just call me Leonard.”

Someone passed a beer to Leonard Reid and joked, ”We’ve already drunk so much, you’ve got to catch up, eh?”

Leonard Reid agreed cheerfully, ”Of course, I’ll start with a penalty of three drinks.”

With a pint glass corresponding to a bottle, Leonard Reid chugged down three glasses in one go, set the glass down, and wiped his mouth, ”Refreshing!”

The crowd cheered him on, and the atmosphere soared.

Carson Flores silently admired that Leonard Reid was truly a big shot who had risen from the lower ranks. He could dine with dignitaries in top-notch restaurants, casually chatting over meals worth tens of thousands, or he could sit on the roadside like he was now, sharing cheap bottles of beer with blue-collar workers, wholeheartedly enjoying the raw and unreserved dirty jokes.

Such a man, had he been born in turbulent times, would have been an absolute hero.

The group drank till ten o’clock. At Davis Bernard’s signal, he led the elated security staff away first. When saying goodbye to Carson Flores, Davis Bernard’s gaze seemed a little peculiar.

When Leonard Reid arrived, Davis Bernard was smoking and happened to see the luxury Mercedes under the streetlight in the distance, and also noticed that string of 6s on the license plate...
