The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 217: Chapter 217 Am I not that charming?_1

Carson Flores’s hand rested on Shirley Miller’s back, and Shirley’s body suddenly stiffened, but she didn’t move.

A fire ignited in Carson’s heart as well.

He wasn’t a saint.

Even though he knew he shouldn’t go any further, the words, the atmosphere, the environment, all seemed to lead up to this moment, and as a man, he subconsciously wanted something to happen.

After all, the woman in his arms was his lawful wife, with a certificate to prove it, and what’s more, she seemed to have no intention of refusing.

Carson bent down towards Shirley’s face and gently kissed her closed eyes.

”Ah!”

Shirley suddenly exclaimed, her body like it had been electrocuted, bouncing right out of Carson’s arms. She didn’t dare meet Carson’s eyes, put on her shoes, grabbed her disheveled bathrobe into her chest, and ran outside.

She paused at the door, ”I’m sorry, my fault... go to sleep early.”

Shirley left those words behind and hurried out the door, even slamming it shut in the early morning quiet.

Carson sat on the bed, his face blank.

Such a big reaction?

Running so fast?

She even apologized to him after he kissed her?

What exactly was going on?

Carson helplessly ran his hands through his hair. With the fire already kindled, was she just going to run off without a care?

Carson felt restless for a bit, not because of Shirley, but because of the natural heat and desire of his body.

Of course, he couldn’t blame it on Shirley. After all, what happened was purely accidental, he made the first move, and it was already good of her not to scold him.

Carson checked the time, ten o’clock at night.

Unable to sleep, he got up, dressed himself, and went out, deciding to find somewhere to drink.

Get drunk, then sleep.

Carson went downstairs, hailed a cab, ”Driver, find me a lively bar nearby.”

The taxi drove for about ten minutes and stopped. ”This is the hottest and most famous bar around, with lots of beauties.”

”Thanks!”

Carson paid the fare and entered the bar, where a waiter greeted him, ”Handsome, how many?”

”Just one, set me up with a booth.”

”Right this way.”

The waiter led Carson to the sofa area, got him settled in, and after drinks and snacks filled the table, they left him to it.

Carson wasn’t interested in dancing or hitting on the ladies. He was just there to listen to the loud music, drink, and pass the time.

Carson downed a drink and then picked up his phone to play the most popular battle game of the moment.

Enjoying snacks, sipping alcohol, and gaming, he was content.

Carson didn’t notice that behind him, a woman in a black dress was sitting, watching him with clear interest.

After losing three games in a row, Carson couldn’t help but grow a little longer in the face.

Such misfortune.

What was he matched with, a team of pigs? They must all be elementary schoolers, so bad at the game it hurt!

”Looks like you lost again,” a soft, sweet voice said from behind him, and when Carson turned to look, he saw that sitting in the booth behind him was a pretty woman around twenty-six or twenty-seven, holding up a glass towards him.

Carson lifted his glass in response, ”Lost three in a row now.”

The pretty woman smiled. ”Are you any good?”

Carson drained his glass and laughed, ”Not bad, just playing casually.”

The pretty woman smiled, ”It’s the first time I’ve seen someone playing games in a booth at a bar. Are you fishing?”

Carson, of course, understood what she meant by ”fishing” and grinned, ”What’s there to fish for? Had a fight with the wife, came out to drink and cool off.”

Hearing this, a smile immediately appeared on the pretty woman’s face, ”I’m pretty bored too, how about we team up for a game, try it out?”

Carson laughed, ”If you don’t think I’m fishing, then sure, come over.”

The pretty woman gracefully stood up, walked over to Carson’s booth, and sat down beside him.

Carson’s eyes lit up; she was a beautiful woman.

From his angle earlier, he could only see the woman from the shoulders up; now that she was in front of him, her tight bodice, slim waist, long legs, every bit showcased the charm of a woman. The black lace dress, slightly see-through, stirred an endless urge to explore.

Samantha Tate exuded a charm, but this woman had a different air about her than Samantha.

The charm of a mature woman.

It was the poise that comes from having seen all the world’s splendor, every move oozing a feminine allure, captivating.

”You here alone?”

The woman in the black dress pointed back, ”With one other person.”

Carson glanced back, spotting a stern-faced man sitting rigidly in the booth, whose gaze shot towards him in a clear warning.

Clearly, he was a bodyguard.

Carson didn’t let on, laughing, ”Sure, let’s set up the game.”

The woman watched Carson’s reaction, her mouth curving into a smile, ”Okay.”

They added each other as friends in the game, invited each other, and joined the match as a team.

Surprisingly, their cooperation was seamless, and after three games, they achieved three wins.

”Won again,” the woman raised her glass to Carson, flashing a bright smile, ”Pleasure teaming up!”

Carson laughed and drank a glass, ”Shall we go again?”

The woman in the black dress giggled and sipped her drink. ”No more for now, let’s just drink. A beautiful woman is sitting in front of you, and instead of asking her to drink more, you keep thinking about the game. Am I really that uncharming?”
