Chapter 351: Chapter 234: The Results Are Out: Rewards and Punishments

”...Furthermore, 10 million in funding will be granted to the Jin Pharmaceutical Group for its new primary cancer treatment drug, the Banzhe Project, and to Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company for its Fengmu Tiada project... At the same time, the foundation will also evaluate and accept applications for funding from other domestic pharmaceutical companies for new drug research projects that meet the criteria for independent research and development...”

Of course, in addition to these penalties, an official announcement was also posted on the official website:

The 7 substandard drugs announced by the Drug Administration:

First: Nanhuai Haoyao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.’s Fluocinonide Acetate and Borneol Cream

Second: Guangtian Pharmaceutical Company’s Cortisone Acetate Eye Drops

...

Sixth: Southern Country’s Ruihui Pharmaceutical’s Sorafenib

...

Such an announcement would be recorded in the database, existing forever, permanently searchable—an indelible stain!

...

...

In addition to the report in *Lancet* and the actions taken by official agencies, Pfizer Pharmaceutical and the FDA also announced their own resolutions.

Pfizer Pharmaceutical publicly expressed its regret and apologized for the matter, stating it would strictly adhere to the penalties and provide compensation.

Pfizer’s investigation also revealed that this incident was entirely the personal action and decision of Xie Bin, President of the Jin Country District, and Xu Kunlin, Chief Scientist of the Xianglin City Research Center. The two had falsified Phase III clinical trial data, deceiving the company’s internal review board.

Pfizer fired both individuals and reserved the right to pursue legal action. Pfizer would deal severely with these two pariahs of the pharmaceutical industry!

The Southern Country FDA also rooted out its own bad apple: Richard, the acting director of the FDA’s Office of Oncologic Diseases in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. In exchange for benefits from Xie Bin, he had opened a special approval channel for Sorafenib.

The FDA expressed its apologies to the relevant parties in the Jin Country and also fired Richard. It stated that it would strengthen its management and oversight in the future and welcomed research teams and scientists from around the world to provide supervision and report any misconduct.

The FDA gave special thanks to Wu Ting and his research team.

...

...

Once these announcements were published, those who had been waiting to laugh at Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s misfortune could no longer smile.

The relevant teams at Pfizer Pharmaceutical were deeply ashamed, considering Xie Bin and Xu Kunlin a disgrace.

The two of them were blacklisted by the entire Jin Country pharmaceutical industry, condemned by all.

With Sorafenib completely pulled from the market, sales for Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s new drug, the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, saw a turnaround.

After being in use for some time, the new drug had already earned a good reputation for its mildness and safety.

With Sorafenib no longer dominating the market, distributors, hospitals, and patients all shifted their focus to the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill.

Meanwhile, in the face of the unscrupulous tactics of Pfizer Pharmaceutical and the industry pariah Xie Bin, Jin Pharmaceutical Group chose to adhere to its own principles and beliefs.

Its choice to stay true to its original mission no matter the hardship or difficulty, and to fund independent research, earned it widespread support and goodwill.

Combined with the administration’s approval and the 10 million in funding to support the Banzhe Project’s development, the results were immediate.

With the triple-pronged effect of its now-excellent corporate image, vast market potential, and crucial policy support, Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price hit its daily limit the moment the market opened!

As a result of all this, the net worth of shareholders like Jin Yihong and Wu Ting, who had bought up stock, began to skyrocket.

And this was just the beginning!

...

...

Wu Ting, Jin Yihong, and the others were in particularly high spirits today as they attended this year’s grand event:

The World Health Organization Western Pacific Region’s Workshop on Clinical Practice Guidelines for Traditional Medicine!

This was a world-class academic conference, top-tier in both its scale and the attention it garnered.

The conference was held in Qinghe City, attended by more than fifty experts and scholars, including Dr. Cui Zhengxun from the World Health Organization’s Western Pacific Region, Scholar Zeng Jiu of the Jin Country Engineering Academy, Scholar Jiang Keji of the Jin Country Academy of Sciences, and President Cao Xin of the National Medical Science Academy.

This workshop aimed to promote the development of traditional clinical medicine diagnostics and treatment. Starting in 2004, the WHO Western Pacific Region, led by experts from the Jin Country, organized specialists from the Jin Country, Japan, and Mexico to begin the work of compiling clinical practice guidelines for 27 systemic diseases.

Beginning in 2005, to ensure the high-quality compilation of these clinical practice guidelines, the Jin Country’s National Medical Science Academy provided special training in advance for the experts tasked with writing them, subsequently launching drafting plans for ophthalmology and oncology guidelines.

This time, Wu Ting’s diagnostic technique—using peripheral blood PT, PTA, and PLT levels for chronic hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer—had been selected for inclusion in the liver cancer guideline’s drafting plan.

Of course, aside from officially participating in this drafting plan today, Wu Ting would also use this opportunity to hold a related press conference during a break in the meeting.

The theme would be the announcement of two papers and two fields of research:

”The Fourth Technological Revolution—Clinical Application of Bioabsorbable Intravascular Stents”...

”Screening for ’Fengmu Tiada’ Lead Compounds with the Potential to Cure Primary Hepatitis B-Related Liver Cancer Based on Molecular Modeling Technology”...

Wu Ting had his reasons for choosing these two papers.

First, the publication of these two papers was of crucial value to the future prospects of both Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and Jin Pharmaceutical Group.

The successful screening of the Fengmu Tiada lead compound would obviously boost Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price. Wu Ting planned to use this to push the company’s stock to a new peak, and his own net worth along with it.

After the stock price rose, Wu Ting would also sell off a portion of his shares to pay back part of the pledge loan he had taken out recently.

As for the bioabsorbable vascular stent, its creation was also a gift from him to Lou Musaang.

Lou Musaang’s condition had been very poor recently, so much so that even the Banzhe Project had been put on hold, which showed just how critical her situation was.

Once this conference was over and President Liang’s side had produced the first batch of samples, Wu Ting planned to begin preparing for Lou Musaang’s intravascular stent surgery. This would buy enough time and lay a solid foundation for her more complex second-stage heart surgery later on.

Just as Wu Ting was about to take his seat for the start of the workshop, he received a call from President Liang.

”Director Wu, I’m happy to report that I’ve succeeded. With the help of your design schematics, combined with my R&D experience in bioabsorbable polymers, the sample for our brand-new, fourth-generation bioabsorbable intravascular stent has been perfectly formed.”

”As soon as you’re back, Director Wu, I’ll arrange to have the sample sent over. And if you can’t find a suitable patient, Dr. Wu, I’m willing to be the first to try it.”

President Liang was full of anticipation and confidence in Wu Ting’s new product.

”That’s wonderful, President Liang. Could you send me the performance parameters and specifications for the sample...”

Wu Ting and President Liang discussed it for a moment. President Liang was both surprised and delighted that Wu Ting now had the opportunity to introduce and announce this product at the World Health Organization Western Pacific Region’s Workshop on Clinical Practice Guidelines for Traditional Medicine.

The significance was absolutely immense!

After finishing his conversation with President Liang, Wu Ting hung up the phone.

He got ready to watch the opening ceremony.

As he watched the top heavy-hitters make their entrance, Wu Ting heard two familiar names. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Scholar Zeng Jiu!

Scholar Jiang Keji!

The former was Ma Mengchao’s teacher, and the latter was Deputy Director Jiang Ming’s paternal uncle!
