Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 389: Chapter 246: A Master of Both Skill and Virtue, the Trust and Support of Teacher and Student

Jia Jun’s team was still conducting preclinical trials for Fengmu Tiada. It would be some time before they entered actual clinical trials, so they wouldn’t need him for now.

The Hepatic Tumor Surgery department was also developing steadily, so he just needed to handle his regular specialist outpatient clinics.

Over in the emergency department, Wu Ting was now an associate chief physician and on third-line call duty. Under normal circumstances, he didn’t need to get involved.

After some planning, Wu Ting decided to focus on the field of cardiac surgery next.

He was going to conquer Lou Musaang’s surgery!

Wu Ting had already discussed it with Shen Siyuan and Director Shao Yuqiao. For now, the only option was to perform the first-stage vascular stent implantation for Lou Musaang. The procedure would use the fourth-generation bioresorbable polymer stent he had co-developed and produced with Weixing Petrochemical.

Once the first stage laid the foundation, the real test and challenge would begin: researching an improved aortic valve replacement procedure for Lou Musaang!

’The road ahead is long and arduous!’

As planned, Wu Ting was preparing to enter the first-ever Asia-Pacific Region International Skills Competition in Cardiovascular Surgery. It had been recommended by Scholar Jiang, the dean of Fuwai Hospital.

Wu Ting immediately looked into it. The Asia-Pacific Region International Skills Competition in Cardiovascular Surgery was divided into two parts.

First, one had to make it into the top twelve in the country to have a chance to represent Jin Country in the Asia-Pacific finals.

The international competition consisted of two segments: surgical performance and a theoretical knowledge contest. The top five contestants from the surgical skills round would advance to compete in the theoretical knowledge portion. In the end, the top three highest-scoring contestants would receive awards.

Since this was the inaugural competition, there was no precedent, and Wu Ting couldn’t find much more information about it.

As for how to get selected for the national top twelve, that was much simpler.

The nationwide preliminary selection had two pathways: independent registration and hospital nomination. The preliminaries didn’t require in-person participation; applicants only needed to submit a relevant surgical video. Each region would then select twelve contestants.

After the initial list of candidates was determined from the preliminary selection, the selected medical teams would be invited to Qinghe City Fuwai Hospital for a final round.

For the finals, contestants could either build upon the surgery from their initial video submission or start from scratch with a different case.

The national finals had strict standards and regulations.

The national finals would be judged blindly. Taking Wu Ting’s Eastern Region as an example, it had 12 contestants, and the regional presidium was composed of over 30 renowned experts in cardiac surgery from across the country.

The regional presidium would adhere to the principles of openness, impartiality, and fairness during the competition. While scoring, they would also provide detailed commentary on the contestants’ surgical performance and live explanations.

Beyond the surgical performance itself, the judges also valued the contestants’ on-the-spot understanding of the surgery during the finals, as well as their interactions with the expert panel.

The contestants’ abilities would be comprehensively and systematically evaluated based on preoperative assessment, surgical demonstration, overall case management, and postoperative follow-up.

As cardiac surgeons, contestants were expected to demonstrate their surgical planning, various emergency protocols, advanced therapeutic concepts and techniques, and solid professional skills.

In addition to creating optimal treatment plans, the competition especially welcomed the use of new instruments, new materials, improved surgical techniques, and innovative clinical thinking in the case studies.

The competition itself was not the end goal. Its significance lay in using the event to advance the field of cardiac surgery diagnosis and treatment, to propose new ideas, new technologies, and new theories, and to join hands in contributing to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Jin Country!

After reading about the preliminary round of the national competition, Wu Ting had an idea.

He would use Lou Musaang’s own illness as his case study for the competition.

Wu Ting planned to use Lou Musaang’s first-stage vascular stent implantation as his case for the preliminary round. He would highlight his solid fundamental skills in stent placement and the fourth-generation bioresorbable polymer stent.

At the same time, during the competition preparation process, he would exchange knowledge with other doctors in the cardiac surgery field. He hoped to find a new, improved aortic valve replacement solution for Lou Musaang’s complex condition as soon as possible!

If time permitted, he could then use Lou Musaang’s second-stage improved aortic valve replacement, combined with the first stage, to form a complete case for the finals.

Wu Ting discussed his idea with Lou Musaang.

Lou Musaang expressed her absolute support and gratitude.

Her condition had already reached a desperate point, with no good solution found so far.

Wu Ting’s first-stage endovascular stent procedure had already extended her life to a great extent. As for the second stage, whether a solution could be developed or not, she was grateful to Wu Ting for trying his utmost for her!

She considered it an honor for her case to be used by Wu Ting in the national competition.

With Lou Musaang’s consent and affirmation, Wu Ting contacted Director Shao and Teacher Shen from the cardiac surgery department at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital.

He decided to perform this surgery in his teachers’ cardiac surgery department. It would also be the first true public demonstration of the fourth-generation bioresorbable polymer vascular stent!

For this surgery, Wu Ting would also invite President Liang from Weixing Petrochemical to attend. Members of the *Research on the Application of Hybrid Technology in Cardiovascular Surgery* project team from Fuwai Hospital would also participate online to witness this historic moment.

Wu Ting also asked Director Shao and Teacher Shen to invite another group of cardiac surgery experts to observe the procedure, especially those who specialized in aortic valve replacement.

He wanted to use this opportunity for two things. First, to promote his fourth-generation bioresorbable polymer stent. Second, he hoped to invite expert professors to brainstorm and formulate a plan for Lou Musaang’s second-stage surgery.

’If everyone could jointly devise an effective plan, that would be ideal. If they can’t, then I’ll have to use the ’entries’ dropped from these top cardiac surgery experts to try and synthesize a brand-new surgical technique capable of saving Lou Musaang.’

’If that still doesn’t solve the problem, then my only remaining option would be to get selected for the cardiac surgery competition and find a solution by competing against the top masters in the field.’

No matter the outcome, this plan of a public surgery was the best option for both Wu Ting and Lou Musaang.
