Chapter 359: Chapter 237: Sensation! Public Opinion Ferments (Part 2)

As for Scholar Jiang, he also reached an agreement with Wu Ting. Thanks to the fourth-generation bioabsorbable stent, Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company had become a key material and device partner for ”Application Research of Hybrid Technology in Cardiovascular Surgery,” a major project under the national ”14th Five-Year Plan”!

With the endorsements from the two academicians, the heads of relevant departments from various hospitals in Qinghe City soon followed suit. After reporting to their respective hospitals, they also reached cooperation agreements with Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company.

From this conference alone, Wu Ting signed orders worth 120 million!

This was a truly astonishing figure for a fledgling pharmaceutical company.

It also reflected the immense potential of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company’s various commercial projects.

Once Fengmu Tiada was successfully developed and officially launched, and the fourth-generation bioabsorbable polymer stent entered mass production, it would generate a stable, formidable stream of cash flow!

Bolstered by this revenue, Wu Ting now had the confidence to proceed with even more ambitious plans.

After Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company secured these orders, Wu Ting would also be signing a manufacturing contract with Jin Pharmaceutical Group upon his return.

The two companies would grow together, mutually supporting one another!

「Xiao City.」

Inside a private clubhouse.

Yang Kejie had just finished a round of amorous activity.

Clad in a dressing gown, Yang Kejie walked out onto the terrace and began to gloomily read the latest news.

As the former Vice Chairman of Jin Pharmaceutical Group and head of its Strategic R&D department, he inevitably felt some regret about leaving the company.

But at the time, the situation had left him no choice but to transfer his shares.

For the past few days, he had been closely monitoring the situation’s developments.

’I can’t believe it. President Jin is one tough bastard. He actually managed to survive the checkmate Pfizer had him in.’

’Still, even though Pfizer Pharmaceutical’s new drug was pulled from the market, it’ll be difficult to make a full recovery relying on the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill alone. After all, Lou Musaang’s condition is too severe. With the company’s core Banzhe Project halted, all the previous investment has gone down the drain.’

Yang Kejie knew Jin Pharmaceutical Group inside and out. He had decided to leave only after confirming that Lou Musaang’s illness was so severe he could no longer continue his research without surgery.

The Banzhe Project dying in the cradle had already sealed the company’s fate—Jin Pharmaceutical Group would never return to its former glory.

After running the numbers, he had concluded that although cashing out at a low point wasn’t ideal, it was an acceptable loss.

’Come to think of it, President Jin still has a tough road ahead.’

Just as Yang Kejie was feeling a pang of pity for Jin Yihong, he suddenly saw three new trending headlines.

The first: ”World Health Organization Western Pacific Region Workshop on Clinical Practice Guidelines for Traditional Medicine Successfully Concludes in Qinghe City.”

The report detailed the conference’s powerful roster of attendees and its resounding success.

As Yang Kejie scrolled through the article, he happened to see a group photo.

’Huh? Isn’t that Wu Ting, the head of the Fengmu Tiada project?’

As he scrolled further down, his pupils contracted in shock.

’This Wu Ting was actually selected to help compile a set of guidelines in the field of liver cancer diagnosis and treatment! He’s that incredible?’

However, the article’s main focus was the conference itself, so it only mentioned Wu Ting in passing.

The next two headlines made Yang Kejie’s jaw drop.

”’Milestone for Fengmu Tiada Project, Jointly Developed by Jin Pharmaceutical Group and Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company: Lead Compound Screening Complete, Preclinical Trial Stage Underway.’”

The article was accompanied by a photo of Scholar Zeng and Wu Ting enthusiastically discussing the project.

With a trembling hand, Yang Kejie clicked on the link. The article outlined the achievements from Wu Ting’s research paper.

”’Screening for ’Fengmu Tiada’ lead compounds with the potential to cure primary hepatocellular carcinoma from hepatitis B, based on molecular modeling technology...’”

The more he read, the more shocked and alarmed Yang Kejie became.

’This... this... this...’

Then came the third headline:

”’Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and Weixing Petrochemical Collaborate on a Brand-New Product: The Fourth Technological Revolution—Domestic Debut of the Bioabsorbable Vascular Stent.’”

”...Scholar Jiang and Dr. Wu have entered into a deep cooperation. The stent has been selected for the major ’14th Five-Year Plan’ project: ’Application Research of Hybrid Technology in Cardiovascular Surgery’...”

Reading this news, Yang Kejie was completely dumbfounded.

Even a regular retail investor, let alone an insider like him, could understand the implications.

Wu Ting was now the second-largest shareholder in Jin Pharmaceutical Group.

Furthermore, Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and Jin Pharmaceutical Group had cross-shareholdings and were deep strategic partners.

Essentially, Jin Pharmaceutical Group was the manufacturer for all of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company’s products.

The two companies were bound together—one prospered, so did the other. And on top of that, both of Wu Ting’s projects had enormous potential and had even won the endorsement and cooperation of two academicians!

’How could this be! How does this Wu Ting have such powerful and extensive connections? Those are academicians we’re talking about!’

As the former head of the Strategic R&D department, what Yang Kejie found even harder to accept than the financial loss was this: if he were still at the company, with the current perfect situation, he could have absolutely pushed Jin Pharmaceutical Group to a new zenith.

The sense of accomplishment from such strategic maneuvering in the business world was far, far greater than anything he felt on a hotel bed.

Yang Kejie bitterly regretted not holding on for just one more day.

The same feelings were shared by all the former shareholders of Jin Pharmaceutical Group: regret, frustration, and envy!

In the capital markets, upon seeing these news reports, the tycoons of various investment firms began desperately contacting Jin Yihong once more, eager to invest and buy shares.
