Chapter 394: Chapter 248: Department Achievement Roundup: Key Specialty Approval and Generous Hospital Rewards (Part 2)

But beyond their envy, all they could feel was admiration.

After all, the emergency department had been built from scratch and, in less than a year, had won numerous team honors, improved a multitude of surgical techniques, and established deep connections with the nation’s top hospitals.

In the field of laparoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic technology, they were now truly at the forefront in all of Jin Country!

The Suspended Gasless Abdominal Laparoscopic Appendectomy had solved the challenges and difficulties of treating extremely elderly patients and was already being promoted throughout Jin Province.

The Daytime Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy had led to a national consensus among experts, and the hospital had even become Jin Country’s training center for the procedure.

The Wu’s Umbilical Hole Laparoscopic Appendectomy had become the gold standard for minimally invasive cosmetic appendectomies, promoted nationwide!

The Perfect Triple Method-assisted laparoscopic technique, along with a full suite of equipment from Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company, was being promoted in Hepatic Tumor Surgery departments at top hospitals across the country, becoming the new generation of auxiliary technology for tumor resection!

The improved EST surgical technique was also being widely adopted, establishing itself as a rare and valuable new procedure!

...

...

Before they knew it, the Laparoscopic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technology R&D Center had become a highly prestigious research institution in the Central Region, taking great strides toward its goal of integrating scientific research, teaching, and clinical care!

Previously, patients with complex and difficult cases in Jin Province were all sent to the top hospitals in Xiao City. Now, many patients from other cities, and even other provinces, were coming to them, drawn by their growing reputation.

With the steady implementation of the Laparoscopic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technology Center’s various surgical techniques, the entire emergency department’s revenue had multiplied several dozen times.

Thanks to the sustained high performance of this national-level laparoscopic technology research center, Fan City First Hospital’s comprehensive capabilities, reputation, and even its overall ranking were all steadily on the rise.

Therefore, the hospital administration had made a major decision this time: to give generous rewards to the relevant medical staff of the emergency department team through a transparent, performance-based incentive system.

While rewarding the emergency department team, this also served to motivate and encourage other departments to follow the emergency department’s example, collectively driving the continuous improvement of Fan City First Hospital’s comprehensive abilities!

...

...

After the rewards for the key specialty were announced, the emergency department’s prestige at City First Hospital was, for a time, unmatched!

Everyone was bursting with motivation when they came to work.

All the medical staff walked with their heads held high. Within City First Hospital, the emergency department had become the absolute benchmark.

And the department heads involved were also basking in the limelight.

Director Huo’s prestige and status at City First Hospital rose steadily because of this, and he was now qualified to be a candidate for the next vice dean election!

Vice Dean Tang had similarly ridden the favorable winds of the provincial-level key specialty in laparoscopy and the national-level laparoscopic research center to firmly surpass Vice Dean Liu, becoming the leading candidate for the next deanship.

Following the emergency department’s success, Dean Tang turned his attention to the new Hepatic Tumor Surgery department being established by Wu Ting.

Next, Dean Tang planned to heavily support Wu Ting’s Hepatic Tumor Surgery department and the new hepatic tumor laboratory.

He intended to support Wu Ting’s Hepatic Tumor Surgery department in applying for the same designations: provincial key specialty and provincial key clinical laboratory!

Of course, the Hepatic Tumor Surgery department was still in its infancy and far from this goal, but as long as Wu Ting was there, Dean Tang felt that anything was possible.

In the past few days, Dean Tang had also caught wind of something from Dean Duan at Fan City University Medical College: the college was preparing to appoint Wu Ting as an associate professor and, concurrently, as the honorary director of the Medical Experiment Center.

Dean Tang was both pleasantly surprised and deeply impressed by this news.

This was an incredibly rare opportunity for collaboration, and it gave Dean Tang an idea: to use Wu Ting as a bridge to foster a deep cooperative exchange between City First Hospital and Fan City University Medical College.

Fan City had never had a top-tier medical college or a top-tier hospital.

’Could it be possible, with Wu Ting at the helm, to build from specialties to entire disciplines, from laboratories and research centers to clinical bases, and ultimately, create a nationally first-rate comprehensive hospital and a distinctive medical college?’

Dean Tang himself was startled by his own wild idea.

But Wu Ting was just that exceptional, making Dean Tang see limitless potential.

Over the next few days, the emergency department settled back into its daily routine.

Everyone became fully immersed in their regular work.

Wu Ting finally received a message from Director Duan: Fan City University Medical College had approved his appointment and the cooperation plan. He was invited to the college next Monday afternoon for the signing ceremony.

Naturally, Wu Ting was thrilled and delighted by this.

This was a milestone victory!

「Another Monday.」

In the emergency department, Yasui and Cheng Feng were on frontline duty today.

After this period of growth, both Yasui and Cheng Feng had become capable enough to handle things on their own.

Recently, they had admitted a peculiar patient.

The patient was Shi Lihong, a thirty-five-year-old woman. Her family had come into money after their property was demolished for redevelopment.

She had been treated at City First Hospital before. She developed gestational diabetes during pregnancy, and after giving birth, it was not properly managed.

As a result, she had developed full-blown diabetes. She had been receiving treatment, and her blood sugar and other symptoms were all well-controlled.

However, in the last few days, she had started having problems with her eyes. She was experiencing severe pain, especially in her right eye, and her vision had seriously deteriorated.

After his initial diagnosis, Yasui recommended the patient go to the ophthalmology department for a more thorough examination.
