Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 378: Chapter 243: Enthusiastic Response, Brilliant Credentials Revealed

Things had come to a head, and it was too late to back down. Guan Bao couldn’t very well start listing off Wu Ting’s accomplishments to Director Cui now. It just wasn’t the right time.

The best he could do was drop hints, hoping to make him take it a bit more seriously and give his best performance.

...

...

After arriving at Fan City University Medical College, Director Cui had Guan Bao call the teaching secretary directly.

The teaching secretary came over, took the USB drive with Director Cui’s presentation materials, and set it up for him in advance.

As an older doctor, Director Cui wasn’t very adept with modern multimedia equipment, so he needed the teaching secretary’s assistance. After that, all he would have to do was click through the presentation.

’With my many years of experience, all I need to do is casually discuss a few cases and brag a bit. That will be more than enough.’

’After all, my audience this time is just a group of students from Fan City University Medical College. Their knowledge and experience are limited.’

Director Cui firmly believed that with his qualifications and background, it was an honor for these students from Fan City University Medical College to even get the chance to hear him speak.

During his earlier call with Guan Bao, Director Cui recalled how the man had hinted that the emergency medicine lecture on Monday—given by the Deputy Director of Emergency Surgery from City First Hospital—had made complex topics simple and easy to understand. Apparently, the speaker had integrated theory and practice exceptionally well and was a huge hit with the students.

That had irked him. ’I’m the Director of the Emergency Department at Jin Province Tumor Hospital, for crying out loud. Even if I haven’t been on the front lines in recent years, my reputation still carries weight.’

’Besides, I’m also a lead instructor at the residency training center of Jin Province Tumor Hospital. A lecture like this should be a walk in the park.’

Cutting it close, just one minute before the class was scheduled to start, Director Cui slowly walked into the classroom.

The moment he stepped into the classroom, he saw that every seat was taken. There were even people standing in the aisles to listen in.

Director Cui’s mood brightened instantly, and he decided to let Guan Bao’s tactless remarks slide.

’See? This is the kind of prestige a senior director from Jin Province Tumor Hospital commands!’

’This is the appeal and influence I have over the students!’

Director Cui straightened his collar, glanced at his watch, and walked to the lectern, ready to begin class.

But, to Director Cui’s surprise, the students in the audience began whispering among themselves.

”Huh? I thought they said Director Wu was a handsome young man. Why is this old guy here? His hair is pretty thin, too.”

”Oh, shoot. I think we messed up. Today’s lecture is similar to Monday’s, but the speaker is different!”

”This lecturer’s qualifications and background are way more impressive than Director Wu’s from Monday.”

”Oh, well. Since we’re already here, we might as well stay. It’s not like I came for the lecture, anyway. I just wanted a closer look at the handsome and wealthy Director Wu.”

Many of the students, realizing they were in the wrong lecture hall, immediately pulled out their phones.

They weren’t particularly interested in the lecture itself.

Of course, a portion of the students had genuinely come for Director Cui’s name and began to listen attentively.

Director Cui ran a hand through his sparse hair and started the presentation.

The first slide showed the title of his lecture and an introduction of his professional background.

Jin Province Tumor Hospital Internal Residency Training Presentation: Pre-Hospital Emergency Care, Part One: On-Ambulance Rescue Procedures and Emergency Treatment for Abdominal Paracentesis and Massive Hemorrhage from Traumatic Liver Rupture.

Director Cui had intentionally put the name of the Jin Province Tumor Hospital on his presentation title, wanting to convey to the students that this was the very material used to train doctors on the clinical front lines.

The name of the Jin Province Tumor Hospital was a big deal in Jin Province, a name with considerable renown!

And below the title was a dense list of Director Cui’s credentials.

”Director of the Emergency Department, Jin Province Tumor Hospital; Lead Professor, Residency Training Center at Jin Province Tumor Hospital; Member of the Jin Province Medical Association’s Trauma Division... Member of the Jin Province Medical Association’s Toxicology Division; Xiao City First-Tier Outstanding Talent...”

”Jin Province High-Level Talent in Health Services, recipient of the ’Xiao City Skilled Professional’ title, multiple-time recipient of the ’Municipal-Level Outstanding Worker’ award...”

Director Cui deliberately paused, giving the students time to read over the list of his accomplishments and be duly impressed.

The students attending an emergency medicine lecture for the first time were, naturally, stunned by Director Cui’s credentials and filled with admiration.

In truth, Director Cui’s resume was nothing short of remarkable; it was among the best in all of Jin Province.

However, the students who had attended Wu Ting’s lecture recalled Director Wu’s simple, unadorned title and felt he had left a much more approachable and sincere impression.

’If we’re talking about resumes, the groundbreaking research Wu Ting has published would completely blow Director Cui’s out of the water.’

’Director Cui is just coasting on his seniority and age... If they were the same age, Director Wu would absolutely crush him. It wouldn’t even be a contest.’

Still, he was a senior director from the Jin Province Tumor Hospital, so everyone remained respectful.

Next, Director Cui began his lecture.

Generally speaking, Director Cui’s lecture was competent enough. It was just that, after hearing Wu Ting’s lecture, the students couldn’t help but find Director Cui’s presentation overly formal and conventional.

Furthermore, many of the case studies Director Cui presented were quite dated, and a good number of them were from procedures performed by other doctors.

Compared to Wu Ting’s firsthand accounts and recent cases he had personally handled, Director Cui’s lecture lacked a sense of tension and excitement.

There was another issue with Director Cui’s lecture: it was very formulaic and cookie-cutter. Much of the content was hardly different from what you’d find in a textbook.

The students could also sense that Director Cui lacked the passion and vitality that Director Wu had exuded.
