Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 371: Chapter 241: A Fierce Dragon Crosses the River (Part 2)

”Therefore, I believe it’s necessary to expand our relevant school-enterprise partnerships, as well as collaborations between our college and hospitals.”

Guan Bao’s systematic and comprehensive speech made Professor Long and the two deans’ eyes light up.

His heartfelt suggestions and plans were truly practical and feasible. The difficulties undoubtedly lay in raising funds and finding corporate partners and high-caliber hospital platforms.

And such difficulties were not issues that a deputy director of the Medical Experiment Center could solve on his own. These problems were precisely what the two deans attending the meeting were there to resolve.

Long Jie was very satisfied with Guan Bao’s performance and gave him an encouraging smile.

Dean Xia also expressed his high praise for Director Guan’s proposals. He added that after the meeting, he and Dean Duan would work on raising funds and applying for government subsidies.

Seeing his proposal get off to a flying start, Director Guan added a solution he could offer for the current situation, one that was within his power.

”Dean Xia, Dean Duan, Director Long, some of these reforms can’t be accomplished overnight, and funding isn’t something that can materialize instantly. However, when it comes to inviting experts from the clinical frontline, I have already contacted someone.”

”Our college’s instructors are generally capable of teaching on common clinical medicine topics. But when it comes to emergency medicine, which involves so many on-the-spot variables, it’s very difficult for a teacher who hasn’t experienced the real-world combat of an emergency department to teach based on theory alone.”

”Therefore, I’ve been in discussion with Cui Donglin, the Director of the Emergency Department at Jin Province Tumor Hospital, about an invitation. Finally, thanks to my persistent efforts, Director Cui has agreed to set aside some time to come to our Simulated Pre-hospital Emergency Care Training Lab and give an expert lecture.”

”Speaking of which, according to the current work arrangements, Director Duan is in charge of the Simulated Pre-hospital Emergency Care Training Lab. In principle, I shouldn’t interfere, but this is, after all, for the continued development of our entire Experiment Center. I went ahead and invited Director Cui. Securing his involvement is of great significance to the pre-hospital emergency care training at our Medical College.”

”I trust Director Duan won’t blame me for ’overstepping my bounds’.”

Guan Bao handled it this way intentionally, of course. This time, his entire work plan and its preparations were framed from the high-level perspective of the whole Medical Experiment Center.

The matter of the expert guest lecture for the simulated emergency care lab was cleverly and logically integrated into his overall plan.

Now, he had mobilized his personal connections to bring in Director Cui, an expert director from a top-tier institution in Jin Province. Guan Bao’s aim was to catch Duan Xingping completely off guard, forcing him to suffer in silence.

Moreover, by presenting it from this high-level, big-picture perspective, he made it impossible for Director Duan to refuse.

As long as Director Duan accepted the Director Cui he had recommended and invited, then no matter what contributions Director Duan made or what results he achieved later, a share of the credit would inevitably go to Guan Bao for his strategic foresight and to Director Cui for his dedicated efforts.

Guan Bao’s argument was well-reasoned, his entire plan meticulously crafted.

Even Professor Long, Dean Xia, and Dean Duan could find no reason to object.

Dean Duan narrowed his eyes slightly. He hadn’t expected this Director Guan Bao to be so shrewd and his methods so sophisticated.

He already had Professor Long’s support, on top of his own strength and seniority.

Dean Duan began to worry about Duan Xingping’s future. As things stood, it seemed there was no good way for Duan Xingping to break out of this situation.

Guan Bao put down the report in his hands, the corner of his mouth turning up in an unconscious smirk as he looked over at Duan Xingping.

This was a show of force meant for Duan Xingping. He had toiled away at this Medical Experiment Center for over a decade. He had finally endured long enough to see Professor Long step down; how could he possibly let an outsider like Director Duan come in and reap the rewards?

Guan Bao knew full well that, aside from Professor Long, no one understood the situation at the Experiment Center better than he did. With the four major points he had proposed, he had already done everything he possibly could.

If Duan Xingping wanted to surpass his plan, he would have to either raise the funds himself to solve the root problem or invite an expert even more impressive than Director Cui.

If he couldn’t do either of those things, any superficial suggestions or ideas he might offer would be nothing more than parroting Guan Bao’s own wisdom.

Guan Bao took a calm, self-assured sip of his tea.

”Director Duan, that is my entire work plan and proposal. A humble offering, I’m sure. Next, let’s hear Director Duan’s thoughts.”

”As the former senior director of the Emergency Department at Yu State Hospital, now that you’ve come to our Medical College and completely switched your identity and role, I’m certain you must have different perspectives and ideas than us instructors who are so deeply rooted in the Experiment Center.”

Guan Bao wore an expectant expression, but his words, both explicitly and implicitly, suggested that Director Duan was just a layman who could only offer superficial ideas from an outsider’s perspective.

Listening to Guan Bao’s report, Director Duan did indeed feel a sense of sudden enlightenment, as if a great weight had been lifted.

’Isn’t Guan Bao’s entire systematic and comprehensive plan just paving the way for me and Wu Ting?’

He had been wondering how to systematically convince the college to let Wu Ting teach as an external expert, and how to naturally and opportunely reach a cooperation agreement with them.

As the former director of the emergency department at Yu State Hospital, Director Duan certainly possessed the ability to adapt to circumstances and remain calm under pressure.
