Chapter 365: Chapter 239: An Expert Consultation is More Than Worth It: A Miraculous Diagnosis

”Get out. You need to leave first.”

Her boyfriend frowned. He glanced at Wu Ting, then at Zhang Yan’s slightly lifted shirt, and walked out suspiciously. He didn’t go far, however, choosing instead to eavesdrop from behind the curtain.

Wu Ting continued to question the patient, his tone very serious:

”Any abnormalities with the nipple or areola? For example, is one nipple slightly retracted, or suddenly raised?”

Hearing Wu Ting’s questions, Zhang Yan nodded, utterly astonished:

”Director Wu, how did you know? The nipple on my right breast... it’s a little retracted... but only very slightly...”

While Zhang Yan and Wu Ting were discussing this, the boyfriend waiting outside couldn’t take it anymore.

”What kind of director are you?! You scumbag! We came here for a liver problem, and you’re asking these lewd questions?”

Her boyfriend’s shouting made Zhang Yan flush with shame and anger.

”Ah Bin, what are you talking about? Director Wu is diagnosing me.”

Wu Ting, however, remained completely unfazed by Ah Bin’s sudden intrusion and cursing.

He looked at Ah Bin and Zhang Yan and explained calmly, ”Although I am a doctor in Hepatic Tumor Surgery, I have also studied diseases related to other types of tumors.”

”This is just a routine consultation and examination. Our Dr. Yang has been present the entire time. As a man, it’s admirable that you care for and want to protect your girlfriend. However, I hope you can control your emotions.”

Wu Ting didn’t feel offended and continued speaking with composure:

”Your girlfriend’s condition isn’t good, but fortunately, I discovered it early.”

”Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll contact the director of the breast diseases department for you. You two should go get checked immediately. The sooner it’s treated, the better.”

Hearing Wu Ting’s serious and professional medical advice,

Ah Bin ultimately chose to trust him. After all, his girlfriend’s health was what mattered most.

However, he couldn’t help but think back to Director Wu’s rather indelicate questions from before.

His mind conjured up a few possible scenarios, and he looked at Zhang Yan, who immediately shook her head vehemently.

Yang Xiao was sensitive to this kind of situation and immediately explained:

”From start to finish, Dr. Wu only made a visual diagnosis. There was no physical contact whatsoever.”

Sensing some ambiguity in his words, he added:

”Her shirt was only lifted to her lowest rib the entire time. There’s nothing to worry about.”

Yang Xiao was still just a medical student, young and earnest, which made his words highly credible.

Ah Bin figured that in such a public setting, Director Wu wouldn’t have the guts to try anything anyway.

After thinking it over, Ah Bin still had to get the last word in.

”Director Wu, you’d better not be messing with me. Otherwise, for the questions you asked my girlfriend today, I’m going to have to beat the hell out of you.”

Thanks to Ah Bin’s loud voice, the patients waiting outside the consultation room heard him too.

It ignited their gossipy souls.

’Did this Director Wu do something offensive to a female patient, angering her boyfriend?’

But since even the boyfriend himself had backed down, the others certainly weren’t going to butt in.

Still, a situation so ripe for speculation inevitably made some of the female patients a little more wary.

”Hello? Director Su, this is Wu Ting from Hepatic Tumor Surgery. I have a patient who needs to come to your department for a breast ultrasound, a mammogram, and a fine-needle aspiration...”

After calling the director of the breast diseases department and making the arrangements, Wu Ting, full of confidence, resumed his consultations. ℯℯ𝑙.

”Next...”

”Yu Wanchao, maintain order and have them come in one by one.”

”Yang Xiao, you continue to observe and learn from the consultations.”

Although they didn’t know what problem Wu Ting had just diagnosed, his calm and composed demeanor still earned him the admiration of the three interns.

The next patient was a clear case of early-stage liver cancer.

The diagnosis had been made at City First Hospital’s specialized physical examination center. After reviewing the imaging data and various physical exam reports, Wu Ting directly arranged for the patient to be hospitalized for an early-stage hepatic tumor resection.

Following that were a dozen or so similar cases: patients with confirmed liver cancer who had come to Hepatic Tumor Surgery for a follow-up, to finalize their surgical plans, and to wait for surgery by Wu Ting’s team.

With Director Zhang Heng, Wu Ting, and experts from Xiao City taking turns performing operations, City First Hospital’s Hepatic Tumor Surgery had already built a solid reputation for its liver tumor resections.

After a dozen or so consultations, Yang Xiao, Li Jun, and Yu Wanchao, who were observing from the side, had gained a new understanding of Wu Ting.

Dr. Wu was truly an expert in the field of hepatic tumors. Especially for patients with confirmed liver cancer, he could always propose the most appropriate surgical plan. Under his confident and reassuring guidance, the patients would choose to be hospitalized for elective surgery.

Just before noon, Ah Bin, the boyfriend of the first patient, came running back.

”Director Wu, I was being petty and suspicious earlier.”

”Thank you so, so much. If you hadn’t discovered Yanyan’s problem, we would have kept getting tested for a liver issue and missed the best window for treatment.”

Ah Bin was still a bit puzzled:

”Director Wu, you just asked my Yanyan a few questions and were able to diagnose her with early-stage breast cancer?”

”The director of the breast diseases department just told us that for Yanyan’s condition, unless you were a senior specialist in that field, it would be impossible to detect it through a simple consultation.”

”Director Wu, if it weren’t for you, my Yanyan would never have even thought of going to the breast department. She’s always been a bit insecure and sensitive about that area, you see.”

”Thank you so much!”

Ah Bin was grateful to Wu Ting not only for discovering Yanyan’s problem but also for finally letting him unlock the related ”privileges.”

Before, Yanyan had always been insecure and hated letting him look. But this time, under the pretext of checking on her condition—though he was, of course, genuinely concerned—he got to observe them in detail.
