Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 368: Chapter 240: Investing and Teaching at Fan City University Medical College (2)

Wu Ting hadn’t expected Long Jie to know so much about him.

”Long Jie, as a matter of principle, my third and fourth stages are still in the preclinical trial phase. For now, at least, I won’t risk putting you through the related Phase III or IV treatments.”

From Wu Ting’s tactful refusal, Long Jie read between the lines.

Long Jie blinked.

”So, Director Wu, does your research project really offer hope for a complete cure for late-stage, hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer?”

Wu Ting didn’t deny it.

”Here’s the plan, Long Jie. We’ll start with conservative treatment to extend your survival time and improve your quality of life as much as possible. Right now, my research team and I are working day and night on the preclinical trials for Fengmu Tiada. I believe it won’t be long before we can enter Phase III clinical trials.”

”If you trust me, once my new drug receives approval for clinical trials, my team will need twenty volunteers for Phase I. If you sign up, I can perform the third-stage surgical treatment on you.”

”However, I have to make it clear up front that we will only proceed with further research on the fourth stage after my third stage is fully complete.”

Wu Ting didn’t want to overpromise or give Long Jie false hope, which was why he was being so conservative.

As soon as Wu Ting finished explaining the plan, Long Jie immediately agreed.

”Director Wu, I’m willing. In that case, I’ll start with the triple-therapy regimen you suggested: HAIC plus the targeted drug Lenvatinib and the immunotherapy drug Tislelizumab.”

”Once your new drug enters clinical trials, you can schedule my surgery. I’m willing to be your first volunteer for the third-stage procedure.”

This wasn’t an impulsive decision for Long Jie; she had given it careful thought. She had Director Fu Jinfen’s recommendation, and she knew that Wu Ting had been featured in top-tier journals, was recognized by leading experts and professors, and, according to recent news, had even earned the favor and friendship of two academicians.

So, Long Jie decided to take a gamble. After all, her best-case scenario right now was palliative care, just to hang on for a little while longer.

She might as well join Wu Ting’s clinical trial and undergo the third-stage surgery—a world-first attempt at a curative treatment for patients with late-stage, hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer.

Even if it failed, she would have at least contributed to the search for a complete cure for hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer, providing valuable data and lessons from the failure.

Wu Ting hadn’t expected Long Jie to agree so readily.

”Alright, let’s proceed with the current treatment plan. Once there’s a new development on my end, I’ll have the team get in touch with you.”

Wu Ting took out his phone and exchanged contact information with Long Jie.

As they watched Long Jie leave...

...Yang Xiao and Li Jun were once again awestruck by Wu Ting’s influence and skill.

’That was Director Fu Jinfen from Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital! He referred a patient he had diagnosed to Director Wu for further treatment. Didn’t that basically tell everyone that when it came to treating hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer, Fu Jinfen felt he was no match for Wu Ting, and that he completely and wholeheartedly acknowledged Wu Ting’s expertise?’

After witnessing Long Jie’s consultation, Yang Xiao, Li Jun, and the other interns’ respect for Wu Ting grew even deeper.

They felt incredibly lucky to have gotten into the Department of Hepatic Tumor Surgery at City First Hospital. ’It’s a no-brainer,’ they thought. ’If we can just manage to stay here, our futures are guaranteed to be bright.’

’So, the complete curative treatment for hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer isn’t just some concept Director Wu came up with,’ they realized. ’It’s a real, cutting-edge treatment plan that’s actually being advanced and is about to appear in clinical practice!’

Yang Xiao, Li Jun, and the others etched this scene into their minds, eagerly anticipating the brilliant future of the Department of Hepatic Tumor Surgery at City First Hospital under Director Wu’s leadership.

He finally finished with all the morning outpatients. Wu Ting had even added ten extra appointment slots, and only after seeing every last patient did he conclude the day’s specialist clinic.

The morning had been one shock after another for the three interns, leaving them feeling energized and excited.

They had also learned a great deal in a single morning.

Yang Xiao, in particular, had filled her little notebook with notes. She might only be cramming information without fully digesting it now, but she knew it would all be useful one day.

For instance, during her lunch break today, she had gone to the women’s restroom to perform a breast self-exam. She did a couple of rotations, pressed a few times, and determined she was perfectly healthy!

After a quick lunch, the three of them headed to the inpatient ward as Director Wu had instructed, ready to learn by following Wu Ting on his rounds.

Work and life in a hospital was a never-ending cycle.

The only difference was that Wu Ting had gone from being the resident trainee who followed behind Luo Ming and Qin Donglai to the attending physician in charge, with his own group of doctors following him.

While Wu Ting was carrying on with his routine work, Jia Jun and Deng Feifei completed the ”Investment Plan for the Medical College Animal Experiment Base Construction Project”!

With the plan complete, the next step was to contact the leadership at Fan City University Medical College.

Wu Ting also began pulling strings and leveraging his connections, trying to find a smooth and effective way to establish a deep partnership with Fan City University Medical College.

Beyond securing the partnership for the animal experiment base, Wu Ting was even more eager to collaborate with Fan City University Medical College on the teaching side and hopefully become a faculty member there.

He would start as a lecturer at Fan City University Medical College and work his way deeper into the institution, step by step.
