——————————

The battle in the distance is almost over. The enemies fighting the Mechanical Centipede, due to their lack of strength, have mostly been knocked to the ground by it.

Unlike the mechanical dolls guarding the waterways earlier, the enemies killed by the Mechanical Centipede were not mechanical or golems, but rather a kind of extremely frail creatures.

These creatures all had green or blue skin.

They were only as tall as a normal person’s calf, with their heads occupying one-third of their body size. Despite their small stature, they wielded iron hammers or chain hammers disproportionate to their bodies.

Gu Xi also noticed that the Mechanical Centipede that launched the attack had more or less dents on its body.

If not for the significant level difference and the additional support from Gu Xi’s side, encountering such enemies might have resulted in considerable losses.

However, this wasn’t Gu Xi’s main concern right now.

At this moment, Gu Xi discovered that the ”Blood Feast Book,” which had originally floated behind him, had floated out once again.

This indicated that the green-skinned creatures that were just killed belonged to flesh-and-blood creatures and could be transformed into vampires.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi frowned and opened the ”Blood Feast Book”.

He then found that the book offered him three different transformation plans.

One was to transform them into regular vampires. Since these creatures were quite small, transforming them into vampires wielding greatswords wasn’t possible; they could only be transformed into those capable of flying as bats.

Of course, the transformation process had no discounts and was conducted on a one-to-one basis with the number of corpses.

This was enough to tempt Gu Xi.

Currently, Gu Xi’s Vampire Squad consisted of only about two hundred members, all under Di Mi’s control.

Once this batch of vampires was transformed, increasing the number by one or two thousand wouldn’t be a problem at all.

These vampires could immediately be deployed in battle.

The other two options were different. One was to transform these creatures into Vampire Bats.

These Vampire Bats were also Level 8, but were used as mounts rather than soldiers.

They could serve as mounts for vampires or other units, allowing for the training of a flying team, or act as mobile flying points between cities.

This transformation option surprised Gu Xi a bit.

He never thought the ”Blood Feast Book” would offer such a feature.

It was something he had never considered before.

If these Vampire Bats could indeed provide Gu Xi with a flying team, it would be a good choice.

The last option was a subordinate branch of the vampire, the Vampire Laborers.

This was technically a weakened version of vampires, considered vampire servants in a typical understanding.

They were similar to those figures in the Demi Giant Garden.

However, those vampire servants were on paths of gardeners, cooks, or servants, serving Di Mi.

On the other hand, the Vampire Laborers to be transformed this time were chosen for their skill in mechanical work.

This was a direct reminder to Gu Xi that when these creatures were alive, they were actually skilled at screwing knots.

As for what Gu Xi would choose, it depended on his own intentions.

Either way, the Soul Summoning Skill was there. Gu Xi didn’t have to summon if he didn’t want to; it wasn’t a loss to the ”Blood Feast Book”.

Gu Xi thought for a moment.

All three paths were pretty good choices.

One would immediately increase the combat power available. Without handing Level 8 vampires over to Di Mi, Gu Xi himself having them would be a strong combat force.

The other would create a new path for Gu Xi, the flying point route.

As Yalidu City grew bigger, relying on the Carriage Station to connect various districts was becoming less feasible.

A large batch of Vampire Bats serving as mountable flying points would be a significant supplement for Gu Xi.

As for the last option, the Vampire Laborers seemed to turn vampires from combat units into laborers.

On the surface, it’s a good choice, but to Gu Xi, this wasn’t exactly ideal.

If he truly needed laborers, wouldn’t the Level 1 Undead transformed from Double Death entering the city be sufficient?

Why use Level 8 Undead as materials for laborers?

So after thinking it over, Gu Xi made a decision.

With a press of his hand, the Soul Summoning Skill was directly activated.

[Soul Summoning Successful, you have obtained 1,133 Giant Vampire Bats, the Soul Summoning Skill gained 1,133 experience points, ”Blood Feast Book” gained 1,133 experience points.]

[Giant Vampire Bat (Level 8, Summoned Creature): Experience (0/800), Attack 9, Defense 7, Life 55, Skills: Vampire Restoration, High-speed Movement, Sound Wave Attack, Flying Team (Mountable)]

With a flash of blood light, a large number of giant bats with a wingspan of approximately five meters took off.

Judging by the size of these bats, Gu Xi could hardly believe that just a second ago, they were those tiny corpses no higher than a car wheel.

After taking off, they immediately flew in Gu Xi’s direction.

As Gu Xi opened the doors of the Steel City Gate to let these bats enter, he also gave orders to the Mechanical Centipede to continue searching for new enemies nearby.

This time, Gu Xi didn’t plan on completing any tasks; his only goal was to kill the enemy.

Kill all the enemies he could see.

Under Gu Xi’s orders, waves of battle reports soon came back.

His subordinates killed these underground world enemies in small groups scattered throughout this world.

The number of these enemies varied, with the largest group numbering over three thousand and the smallest having four or five hundred.

However, this time, there were no new enemy types; it was just Stone Golems, green Spirit Monsters, and those short mechanical dolls.

Initially, Gu Xi closely observed each battle.

But as time went on, Gu Xi simply stopped paying attention to the battles.

He merely waited for the battle reports to pop up after each battle concluded. He used a bit of mana to connect to the Soul Summoning Tower and conducted a transformation of corpses each time.

In the remaining time, Gu Xi would take out various books he hadn’t finished reading and read them on the battlefield.

While Gu Xi was reading, anomalies occasionally occurred around him, but he seemed indifferent. Whenever he spent too much time reading, the decorative piece on his left hand would take his book away, preventing him from reading further.

During these moments, Gu Xi would get up, stretch a bit, and summon the accumulated enemy corpses into newly created Undead.

Afterward, he’d assess the battle situation.

If there were too many new Undead, he’d let the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe take action, creating some Undead Bosses to lead the new Undead into battle, accelerating the pace of the battle on this side.
