Undead Mage from a Cell

Three months passed by in the blink of an eye.

During these three months, Gu Xi didn’t participate in any games.

He spent his days either reading in the library, studying in the magic tower, practicing various magic skills at the Ghost Soul Pass Trial Ground, or learning some basic things from the guild instructors.

He returned to his dormitory at night to rest, and every day was quite fulfilling.

He had noticeably lost a lot of weight.

Of course, Gu Xi’s gains were significant. Although he didn’t increase his experience at all during these three months.

Let alone his level.

But other skills he should be learning made great progress.

On the Professional Skills side, Soul Summoning Skill reached Level 10, and Gu Xi didn’t practice it much; this skill is better honed in a major battle than here.

Gu Xi primarily practiced Secondary Corpse Burst, Secondary Bone Shield, Bone Spike, Bone Storm, Wraith Whiskers, Death Ripple, Magic Divine Arrow-type spells, so that when Gu Xi goes to the battlefield, these spells, being a distance away from the battlefield, have no chance of being used.

And when Gu Xi upgrades, the Combined Skills were mostly chosen because of the levels of these spells, and some advanced skills also required some skills to reach a standard before they can be learned.

So Gu Xi firmly upgraded all spells to Level 6.

This standard line is already not low, given Gu Xi only had so much time.

He only had time to practice skills when he was too exhausted from reading to continue; managing to push these skills to Level 6 is already quite impressive.

As for Bone Curtain Level 1, Skeleton Priest, Blade of Cold Iron, Ring of Harsh Winter, Deep Freeze, Chain Corpse Burst, Death Witch Summoning, Death Luck, Spirit Gathering Skill, Gu Xi also worked hard to improve, but the highest only reached Level 4, the lowest about Level 2.

They were not like other skills that could be pushed to Level 6.

But compared to skills that can be forcefully advanced, those that needed upgrading through reading and research were different.

Using the book list provided by Li Xiu, Gu Xi spent three whole months to fill in the gaps in his knowledge.

The most crucial one, Undead Knowledge, was pushed to Level 11, Undead Domination to Level 8, Undead Enhancement to Level 8, and Undead Research to Level 7, barely reaching the standard for learning the Undead Transformation Technique.

Additionally, during the reading and learning process, other aspects also improved; Magic Knowledge increased to Level 9, Basic Science to Level 8, Basic Reading to Level 7, Basic Copying to Level 7.

The remaining skills also grew in various degrees.

It can be said that while he still has some weaknesses now, they are not as obvious as before.

His foundation has been strengthened, and now he can finally study the Promotion Book for Soul Summoning Skill.

Meanwhile, he can study more advanced Undead Knowledge books that Gu Xi can borrow.

”The books you want are all here, the Book of the Box of Fate, Blood Feast Book, Book of the Grub, and Book of Deceit; you can borrow them for three days but cannot take them out of the library.

You may copy them yourself or find someone to help you copy them, or simply read directly.

Also, here is the Netherworld Secret Scroll Volume Three, the only book in the guild related to the Netherworld; you can borrow it for one day, but cannot take it out of the library.

You can copy it yourself but cannot find someone to help you copy it.”

In the Forbidden Book Area of the Radiant Library, the player responsible for retrieving books placed several brick-thick hardcover books in front of Gu Xi.

These forbidden books aren’t like the ordinary books in the library that can be taken out.

They are called forbidden books because they contain a powerful eerie aura.

Other books, when read excessively, can have effects, even influence the player himself.

But these forbidden books are different; once taken out of the library, they automatically exert their influence to transform the player who took the book.

One could say that the players in the Forbidden Book Area aren’t protecting the books but protecting the companions who encounter them.

If there is any anomaly, they need to step forward and handle it.

For Gu Xi, he doesn’t have much time.

Three days to copy all five books.

So Gu Xi directly asked for an empty room and had the player responsible for the library prepare enough paper and pens for him.

”Do you need me to arrange other personnel to help you?

We have a professional copying team here whose speed is quite fast.

Considering the number of books, relying solely on you alone, you won’t be able to finish copying in three days.”

”No need, I already considered everything when I came, I have my own way of handling it.”

Gu Xi shook his head and refused the player’s suggestion.

He knew these players wanted to help copy for some extra money.

But some things can’t be resolved by letting others copy them.

Gu Xi was very clear that during the copying process, these players were actually reading these forbidden books.

As soon as they copy a bit, they get influenced by the forbidden books and need to stop to rest.

In other words, if they want to copy a forbidden book, at least ten to twenty players need to take turns.

If Gu Xi wanted to hire someone to copy, he wouldn’t just be hiring one player but a group of players.

Gu Xi had his own method, so he won’t do such foolish things.

Though he has money, it doesn’t fall from the sky.

Therefore, after carrying these forbidden books into the room specially prepared for him, Gu Xi took out the Cold Wind Staff and tapped it on the ground.

”Death Witch Summoning!”

The Death Witch Summoning skill had been upgraded to Level 3, allowing up to 30 necromancer wizards to appear each time.

Although the level was still equivalent to Gu Xi’s level, the quantity increased, enabling more tasks to be done.

Gu Xi directly handed the Book of the Box of Fate, Blood Feast Book, Book of the Grub, and Book of Deceit to the necromancer wizards for copying.

Whenever they underwent transformations, Gu Xi dissolved them instantly and summoned a new group of necromancer wizards.

Because the copied content was death-related, the necromancer wizards found it relatively easy.

Initially, Gu Xi supervised them, but as the necromancer wizards copied more smoothly, Gu Xi’s focus shifted away from them.

Gradually, he began to copy the Netherworld Secret Scroll that only he could copy.

While copying the Netherworld Secret Scroll, Gu Xi had a feeling that he had returned to the Yellow Springs Road and was amidst the Yellow Springs.

Meanwhile, his arm began to feel stiff and eventually became somewhat mechanical.

Luckily, Gu Xi left some necromancer wizards observing during copying, and at the critical moment, they pulled Gu Xi out, preventing him from being dragged into the Netherworld, enabling more fluent copying.
