Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 693: Chapter 691: Soul Summoning Skill Promotion

Compared to the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon, the Death Incarnation - Death God on the other side didn’t have as impressive a battle record.

He was more inclined towards solo combat.

The current enemies are still small in size, those little guys left on the shore have heads only the size of walnuts. You could just imagine that these enemies aren’t so easily defeated.

The Death Incarnation - Death God watched as the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon swept through, and he simply didn’t make a move. Instead, he stomped with his right foot, and his Ghost Realm Battlefield rapidly rose straight up, with a multitude of white bone arms reaching out, grasping the enemies on the ground and smashing them forcefully into the earth.

After clearing out a patch of open ground, Gu Xi also received signals sent by the Death Incarnations.

He immediately jumped out of the waterway.

After appearing here, Gu Xi didn’t first deploy the City Gate for defense. Instead, he released the Soul Summoning Tower right away.

Gu Xi’s mind was entirely focused on one thought at this moment.

He wanted to see what could be summoned from these enemies after their death.

With the presence of the Soul Summoning Tower, Gu Xi immediately used the Soul Summoning Skill.

However, this time, as he used the Soul Summoning Skill, four spectral books suddenly appeared behind Gu Xi.

All four books were thick black tomes like bricks, with each cover crafted in gold casting unique patterns.

These four books were precisely the four advancement books of Soul Summoning that Gu Xi had copied from the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

Previously, Gu Xi had already read most of these four books, and his skill levels had also reached the reading and usage standards for these books.

What was missing now was experimentation and practice.

The present scenario was perfect for practice. As the four advancement books appeared behind Gu Xi, they would receive some supplementary experience based on which advancement direction he used.

Whenever one of the books turned from a phantom into a tangible entity, it would signify that Gu Xi’s advancement in that direction was complete.

Gu Xi could easily convert corpses into the unit type he desired, just like using the Soul Summoning Skill as usual.

That’s exactly what Gu Xi was doing now.

As he initiated the Soul Summoning Skill, the Soul Summoning Tower behind him also lit up.

The crimson light shone quite far.

Gu Xi immediately sensed the status of the corpses present on site.

The four advancement books moved back and forth before him, with each move flipping through several pages.

Gu Xi could see some choices.

At least it wasn’t like the previous summonings, done entirely by intuition.

Now there was quite an intuitive set of data, indicating the quality of these corpses and what kind of Undead they were suitable to transform into, which Gu Xi could gauge clearly in his mind.

However, unfortunately, after the four advancement books circled twice, the Book of the Box of Fate and the Blood Feast Book retreated.

Clearly, the corpses before him didn’t meet the requirements of these two books.

The Soul Summoning requirements for the Book of the Box of Fate were: Player’s Soul Summoning Skill above Level 10, Undead Enhancement above Level 7, and both Undead Knowledge and Magic Knowledge above Level 5, with the presence of corpses from the Magic Corps on site.

After the summoning, players could convert the enemy’s Magic Corps into Magical Undead.

For Magical Undead, starting at a Level 7 Corpse Witch, players could eventually choose various changes with further enhancement of their Undead Enhancement Level, like a Level 9 Corpse Witch King or Lich, and a Level 11 Master of Lich.

As for the level of the corpse itself, there were no requirements.

Thus, with none of the present corpses being related to the Magic System, the Book of the Box of Fate immediately retreated.

Following that, the Blood Feast Book retreated. The summoning requirements for this book were: Player’s Soul Summoning Skill above Level 10, Undead Enhancement above Level 7, all of Undead Knowledge, Dark Knowledge, Magic Potion Making, and Divination Knowledge above Level 3, with the presence of blood-bearing creature corpses.

After the summoning, players could convert all the enemy’s corpses into Level 7 Vampires.

Whether these Vampires followed the Magic System, Strength Element, or Agility Element direction depended on the Vampires themselves.

Here, the Blood Feast Book autonomously determined that all present were puppet-type corpses, bloodless, rendering them incapable of Vampire transformation, thus it quickly retreated.

Remaining were the Book of the Grub and Book of Deceit; these two advancement books were not picky about corpses.

After all, they didn’t follow the path of righteousness.

The summoning requirements for the Book of the Grub were: Player’s Soul Summoning Skill above Level 10, Undead Enhancement above Level 5, Undead Research Level 5, Corpse Structure Level 3, and Magic Potion Making Level 3:

For costless corpses and even dismembered ones, blood and flesh still could be transformed.

The main transformations were twofold: one similar to large insect types such as Spiders or Centipedes, ultimately following the Life-Weaving Spider Queen route.

The other followed an insect swarm path, similar to Corpse Poison Flies or Bone Locusts, winning by numbers in the end.

Both were excellent choices for battlefield cleanup.

However, the Book of the Grub was not a one-to-one summoning, but rather determined based on the type of insects.

Thus, the present corpses didn’t affect the Book of the Grub; weren’t these mechanical bodies?

Even insects could transform.

As for the last, the Book of Deceit, it was more peculiar, following a directly grotesque path.

Its summoning requirements asked for Player’s Soul Summoning Skill above Level 10, Undead Enhancement above Level 5, Soul Knowledge Level 4, Soul Research Level 4, Death Whisper Level 3, Basic Curse Level 4, and Undead Research Level 5:

Furthermore, it wasn’t picky about corpses, so long as there were any, and the stranger the bodies, the better suited for conversion by the Book of Deceit.

Examples include dolls, trees, scarecrows, or people-skinned remains, making them ideally fit for the Book of Deceit’s transformation.

The current corpses were exactly in line with one transformation direction from the Book of Deceit.

Doll-type.

So, these two advancement books did not retreat but instead kept flipping in front of Gu Xi, indicating to him what kind of Undead could be made from the corpses before him.

This form of summoning allowed Gu Xi to clearly know what kind of Undead he could convert to next.

It even enabled pre-selection before the Soul Summoning Skill was executed, avoiding any post-summoning regret.

Glancing at the current situation, Gu Xi’s hand tirelessly skimmed over the Book of the Grub, eventually settling on a page with a touch.

With Gu Xi’s touch, the mana he had been gathering dispersed completely through the Soul Summoning Tower.

Then, all the mechanical puppet corpses on site exploded at once, transforming into varying sizes of metal lines, rapidly assembling.

As the metal lines twisted, a peculiar insect type appeared on the scene.
