As for the troops preparing for this upcoming battle, Gu Xi has mobilized the entire city.

Apart from the heroes currently in the city, all troops above level 7 have begun moving towards Yalidu City.

In addition to those troops Gu Xi led out with his experience, there are the tens of thousands of new undead refreshed into Yalidu City after the battle in the Earth Demon Cave.

Most of the Yaksha lineage units are quite suited to becoming zombies, even the Gray Yaksha and Painted Skin Yaksha have been transformed towards the zombie direction.

One kind achieves this by attaching balloons to themselves, allowing them to fly.

The other by using makeup, making themselves appear like living dead zombies.

Their levels range from 6 to 8.

This time, for the battle, Gu Xi directly mobilized all units above level 7, adding over fifteen thousand new troops to his side.

If these troops were all crammed into Yalidovitar, it might not be able to hold them all.

In the end, it was Eldest Princess Anna who came up with an idea to station them outside New Yalidu City.

Only three thousand were selected to fill Yalidovitar and act as the basic defense force.

When manpower is needed, a spatial shift in Yalidovitar can replenish these troops.

This ensures not only adequate defense for Yalidovitar but also prevents internal chaos while guaranteeing troop reinforcement and resource logistics.

As Gu Xi mobilized everything in the city to prepare for the imminent battle, Shaya also rushed back three hours before it started.

Originally, Gu Xi thought Shaya wouldn’t be able to gather any information.

But unexpectedly, Shaya managed to find out some news in such a short time.

”Sir, the behavior of this Yaksha King is actually quite common on Yellow Springs Road.

I’ve inquired around, and they say it’s a method to break through boundaries.

Not only on Yellow Springs Road, but similar setups exist in the Human World too.

They hide their bodies, reincarnate their souls into the human realm, and either indulge in worldly pleasures to temper their minds, ascend socially to gain national fortune, or do good deeds to accumulate a massive amount of merit.

This way, after the incarnation dies, they can leverage a lifetime’s accumulation to propel their dormant bodies to higher levels.

However, it’s quite rare for someone like the Yaksha King to employ a feigned death technique to bury himself on Yellow Springs Road.

They say the Yaksha King is a rather ruthless person.

On Yellow Springs Road, the Yaksha in the Earth Demon Cave isn’t much. Let alone the Soul Gathering Land, any random Ghost King interested in that area could easily take it.

That’s why the people I asked suspect there’s definitely some issue behind this, otherwise, the Yaksha King wouldn’t take such a risky move.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi found the information Shaya gathered aligned closely with his own predictions.

However, what Shaya eventually discovered caused Gu Xi some concern.

”What are your thoughts?”

”I believe the Yaksha King hiding beneath the Earth Demon Cave could be for one of three reasons.

Firstly, he was cornered by someone, leaving him no choice but to temporarily hide here.

This seems least likely since, as you’ve seen, the Earth Demon Cave has existed for quite a long time. Not to mention the bones in the lake and those Yaksha eggs in the underground caverns, which weren’t formed overnight.

So, it’s unlikely he was forced to reincarnate and flee, as the cave has been around for decades, if not hundreds of years.

Second, he has backing; at least some higher-ups on Yellow Springs Road are aware of the Yaksha King’s actions.

So the Ghost Kings haven’t moved against the Earth Demon Cave.

Yet there’s some inconsistency since the Earth Demon Cave is listed in the task list.

Otherwise, we wouldn’t have ventured here.

The other possibility is that the Yaksha King is a decoy or trap set by someone else to lure major figures into action.

It’s just our bad luck that we got inadvertently involved.”

Listening to Shaya’s analysis, Gu Xi nodded; he had reached almost the same conclusions himself.

But despite it all, he had already taken on this matter and didn’t plan to back down easily.

He wasn’t doing this for the Orange Armor, but to prove he could engage anyone in battle.

”I understand, but regardless of the Yaksha King’s circumstances, we’ve taken on this matter, and he is our enemy.

During your trip, did you learn anything else about the Yaksha King? Like his personality?

Or his combat habits, for instance?

Surely he has some enemies.”

”I genuinely didn’t manage to find out, as if everyone who knew of the Yaksha King has been silenced, and some don’t even know of his existence.

I suspect the Yaksha King’s main domain isn’t on Yellow Springs Road.

If we had more time, we might gather more information from other places.

But we really don’t have much time now.”

”Indeed, time is tight.”

Gu Xi sighed a little, ”But it doesn’t matter much to us. I’ve decided to fight this battle, and I won’t let other matters sway my decision.

So let’s leave it at that.

The information you brought back is invaluable, take a rest now.

The time we have is limited, and we may need your assistance again soon.”

After Shaya was dismissed, Gu Xi attended to some other matters.

With two hours remaining, Gu Xi summoned two Death Incarnations outside Yalidovitar and bestowed upon them the Ghost Realm Battlefield.

Finally, he said to Eldest Princess Anna: ”I’ll take a nap; wake me up in two hours.”

Eldest Princess Anna glanced at Gu Xi, ”Sir, you haven’t eaten in eight to nine hours. Want to eat something before sleeping?”

”Never mind, I had something earlier; I’ll eat before the battle.”

Gu Xi shook his head and found a spot near the square of Yalidovitar to lie down and sleep.

Beside him was the transported corpse of the Yaksha Jade Tree King.

You could say Gu Xi fell asleep right next to this corpse, dozing off immediately.

Eldest Princess Anna observed Gu Xi disregarding his status and sleeping on the ground like that, and her eyes shifted slightly.

Seeing Gu Xi fall asleep so quickly indicates he is well-prepared.

At least now, Gu Xi resembles a competent soldier, no longer akin to a novice seen at a glance.

Indeed, the rigors of such a grand battle significantly propel personal growth.
