”Close the city gate.”

Glancing at the battle below, Gu Xi decisively ordered.

The current situation was under his control, and he no longer needed to use the Yaksha King’s corpse to divert the Yaksha King’s attention.

Closing the city gate to engage in a well-fought battle of attack and defense was what Gu Xi needed to choose now.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the city gate of Yaliduvi Tower closed with a bang.

The Yaksha King, who was boosting soldier morale, heard this sound, turned around, and his expression turned grim.

The difficulty of attacking a fortress with an open gate versus a closed gate is not the same.

If the previous army was at his side, the Yaksha King would naturally not worry about anything; he could take down any fortress, no matter how difficult.

But now his troops were less than one-tenth of their original strength, so he couldn’t rely on the same calculations.

That’s why he sent out the Royal Guard immediately, to assassinate Gu Xi, and also to seize the city gate, making it convenient for the following troops to pass.

Now that the gate was closed, the situation was different.

The Yaksha King gritted his teeth and turned toward the city wall of Yaliduvi Tower, saying.

”The first one to climb wins a title of nobility!”

Hearing these words, the Yaksha King’s soldiers let out a loud shout, raising their weapons as they charged toward the city wall.

The military general, who had previously led five hundred sword and axe warriors out, sped up his advance, and his warhorse changed from a crimson red to a bright red, as if it was about to ignite, significantly increasing its speed.

”Shoot!”

Seeing the enemy charge, Gu Xi decisively ordered.

This time, the skeleton shooters did not let Gu Xi down.

Their arrows fell onto those soldiers from afar, unlike before when they couldn’t hit the Royal Guard’s men.

The sword and axe warriors following the military general wore only ordinary leather armor and did not carry shields, so the arrows still dealt considerable damage to them.

After being targeted, they only charged a little over a hundred meters before one-fifth of the soldiers were felled by the shooters’ arrows.

But the general in the lead ignored all this.

He held a long saber in one hand and grasped the warhorse’s reins with the other, constantly urging the horse to speed up.

As he charged forward, layers of phantoms appeared behind him.

Those phantoms were in the form of Yakshas, all of which appeared when Gu Xi battled in the Earth Demon Cave earlier.

The most numerous were the Bone-Eating Yakshas specializing in power and defense.

When several layers of phantoms descended, the look of this military general became somewhat Yaksha-like.

And at that moment, the Death Incarnation - Death God fighting against the Royal Guard’s forces also had a Yaksha phantom appear behind it.

That phantom was in the form of a Gray Yaksha, and after it landed on the Death Incarnation - Death God, the Death God noticeably moved faster.

At this time, Gu Xi also understood that the ability the general used was similar to the Yaksha Curse that the Death Incarnation - Death God had just activated.

Although Gu Xi was not sure whether the general’s ability came from the Purple Armor or a spell, or if, like the Yaksha King, he too was a Yaksha who had abandoned his physical body.

While Gu Xi was puzzled, the general had already charged to the city wall.

By then, the skeleton shooters had already started concentrating fire on this general.

Gu Xi had seen that the strength of this armored man was around Level 14.

Not yet at Level 15.

Gu Xi glanced at the Ghost Dragon in the sky. The Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon needed to be reserved to deal with the Yaksha King alongside the Corpse Mother. This armored individual should be dealt with by the Ghost Dragon.

Just as Gu Xi was about to signal the Ghost Dragon to come down, Luna appeared behind Gu Xi.

Seeing the situation at hand, Luna closed her mouth immediately, swallowing back the report she intended to make, and joined Gu Xi in commanding the soldiers on the city wall.

With Luna’s help, the pressure on Gu Xi’s side was significantly reduced.

Luna could also play a major role during the defense of the city.

The Mirror Image Secret Technique she mastered was incredibly bizarre. Sometimes, enemies charging ahead, clearly tracking the correct direction, would look up and realize they were inexplicably heading backward.

This was a severe blow for that general.

Because he had used a secret technique to strengthen himself, maintaining his body at a very strong level, but the secret technique consumed a lot of physical strength.

Normally, he could maintain this secret technique long enough to charge onto the city wall.

But now, due to Luna’s interference, his time was being drawn out.

The most critical was that he inadvertently deviated from the direction, having to stop and adjust every time he realized something was wrong.

This naturally affected his charging rhythm.

After all, charging requires maintaining momentum.

After being interrupted thrice, his warhorse had turned fiery red, yet he still hadn’t reached the city wall.

This made the armored individual extremely angry, and he shouted loudly.

”Demon Dao, if you have the ability, let me pass.”

”Pass your sister.”

Gu Xi gave that general a dismissive glance, with no intention of letting him through, ”Concentrated fire, kill this guy!”

The Skeleton Shooter Boss quickly repositioned his troops to focus fire on the general.

At this moment, the color of the warhorse beneath him changed once again.

From fiery red to bright white.

Then with a bang, the warhorse exploded.

This situation startled Gu Xi.

It turned out the warhorse had been overused, with power exceeding what it could bear, causing it to explode.

However, at the moment of the explosion, the general twisted his brain and used the explosive power to propel himself toward the city wall of Yaliduvi Tower.

In the general’s mind, the explosion would definitely propel him along a straight line.

No matter how strong Luna’s Mirror Image Secret Technique was, it couldn’t possibly turn a straight line into a curve.

But he was truly mistaken. A mirror’s most common features are refraction and reflection.

Not to mention turning a straight line into a curve, even bouncing this guy back would be easy.

As the general flew toward Yaliduvi Tower, Luna pointed a finger in front of her, and a giant mirror appeared directly in his flight path.

The general had no control over his flying direction and plunged headlong into it.

The next moment, the general flew out of the mirror, heading toward the Yaksha King at an even faster speed.

Seeing the general flying towards him, the Yaksha King’s expression became extremely unsightly.

”Useless thing.”

Then, raising his hand, a powerful force slowed the flying general’s speed, preventing him from being killed outright on the spot.

Upon seeing this situation, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up, he decisively turned to the rear and ordered.

”Brave Fight, extract mana!”
