Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 654: Chapter 652: Forced Mission, Orange Armor Reward

[Mandatory Task: Rage of the Jade Tree!]

[Task Description: You have taken away the most crucial material in the Yaksha Jade Tree King’s grand plan, his body. Your actions have enraged the Jade Tree King, and he will arrive in twelve hours at the location where his body is stored, intending to reclaim it. Ensure that this body is not taken away!]

[Task Requirements: Protect the body from being taken (0/1) or kill the Yaksha Jade Tree King (0/1)]

[Task Reward: 1 piece of equipment (95% chance of being Purple Armor, 5% chance of being Orange Armor).]

[Note 1: This body is extremely important to the Yaksha Jade Tree King. Losing the body or the body’s death will cost him dearly; he will certainly come.]

[Note 2: The Yaksha Jade Tree King’s actions will have far-reaching effects on this world; please be cautious when facing him.]

At first, watching himself being forcefully assigned a task, Gu Xi was somewhat angry.

But upon seeing the 5% chance for an Orange Armor, Gu Xi’s eyes widened.

”Eldest Princess Anna, I need to use Yalidovitar.”

Eldest Princess Anna glanced at Gu Xi, her head filled with confusion.

”This Yaksha King will come back to seize his body. I want to place this body inside Yalidovitar to fight him there.”

Though unaware of how Gu Xi obtained this information, Eldest Princess Anna replied affirmatively.

”Alright, I will assist you, Sir. To what extent do you wish to carry out this battle?”

”Even if it means rebuilding Yalidovitar, the Yaksha King must die.”

Eldest Princess Anna looked at Gu Xi, ”As you wish.”

”Prepare yourself first. I remember the Yaksha Mother we killed earlier was Level 17, with the talent of Double Death, capable of producing a Level 17 strong undead in the city.

Go find her and prepare to put her into battle.

Additionally, mobilize the other troops and, if needed, bring Di Mi back.

Also deploy the Corpse Poison Fly and Bone Locust, withdrawing all troops between Yalidovitar and the Steel City Gate, in case the battle drags here.

Have Brave Fight make preparations; this time there may be no chance for him to sacrifice life, so let him think of a good plan himself.”

Gu Xi quickly issued his orders.

He was well aware that while he seemed to have many soldiers under his command, those above Level 10 could be counted on one hand.

There was only one above Level 15, and he was still uncertain about the situation with this one.

Now, to face the Level 19 Yaksha Jade Tree King, Gu Xi had to deploy all of his forces.

However, time was pressing. If only the Yaksha Mother’s body could be successfully transformed into a Level 17 undead; two Level 17 could perhaps face off against the Yaksha Jade Tree King.

Nonetheless, Gu Xi never considered using the Level 45 Great Monarch deep within the Mirror Image Dungeon World.

Although, delivering the body to him within twelve hours would resolve everything.

But what would Gu Xi gain afterward?

On the contrary, by defeating the Yaksha Jade Tree King himself, Gu Xi not only could complete the task and earn the reward, but the Yaksha Jade Tree King would also drop equipment, and his talent would grant Gu Xi a Level 19 expert.

Even if it’s just a Level 19 soldier, it would greatly benefit Gu Xi, whether kept at his side or stationed in the New and Old Yalidu City.

Not to mention, the task reward includes an Orange Armor, even with a low chance of occurrence, Gu Xi planned to take a gamble.

Under Gu Xi’s orders, Eldest Princess Anna immediately relayed the message back.

Gu Xi then led the Ghost Squad, swiftly clearing everything before them.

The battle was imminent, and Gu Xi’s time was exceedingly tight.

He had no time to linger there.

There were still many matters to attend to, given that twelve hours was extremely tight; Gu Xi had to arrange everything perfectly.

Otherwise, relying on his limited forces above Level 10 would likely not suffice to win this battle.

The Ghost Squad could move items quickly when not affected.

In less than half an hour, they had cleared everything from the Earth Demon Cave.

As for the things on the surface, Gu Xi no longer needed to worry; seeing the empty cave, he immediately returned to Yalidu City.

Upon entering the city, Gu Xi encountered Luna and Shaya.

”Sir, what happened?”

Luna, who had just received Gu Xi’s orders, was curious about his situation.

”Did you see that gigantic body we just brought back?”

”I did,” Luna affirmed, ”Is there something wrong with this body?”

”The body belongs to a Level 19 expert; having lost his body, his soul lacks a vessel. Regardless of the circumstances, he will surely return to reclaim it.

Our task is to guard the body and even kill that guy. As long as we guard it, there’s even a chance of obtaining Orange Armor.”

Luna and Shaya, having been with Gu Xi for so long, knew the significance of Orange Armor to him.

Understanding the situation, they immediately grew concerned.

”Sir, has a battleground been chosen?”

”Sir, have you gathered the intelligence?”

”I plan to fight outside Yalidovitar. The city walls elsewhere are too thin, and Yalidovitar is our main battle castle; its defense will definitely be stronger than several city gates.

Otherwise, given our current situation, no matter where we choose to fight, it wouldn’t be favorable for us.

And it would disrupt the construction of Yalidu City.

As for intelligence, I currently have no time to handle it. Shaya, can you gather enough information within six hours?”

Shaya thought for a moment and then seriously replied, ”I’ll try my best.”

Gu Xi didn’t enforce this strictly, understanding that given their current location, even returning to the Soul Gathering Land would take a considerable amount of time.

And even if they returned, Shaya, given her current position, might not uncover much information.

Thus, Gu Xi could only have Shaya do her best to gather intelligence; even if unsuccessful, Gu Xi still had a dozen hours to prepare more.

At this moment, Luna suddenly asked, ”Sir, can this body be handled?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up but he eventually shook his head.

”I don’t have a way. My Undead Transformation Technique is still half-baked, handling this would take a considerable amount of time, and the outcome might not be anything combat-worthy.”

Gu Xi finally abandoned this idea.

”With this time, let’s focus on fortifying Yalidovitar’s defense. By the way, where are those architects? Call them over, our time is very tight.”
