Chapter 694: Chapter 692: New Unit, Mechanical Centipede

[Soul Summoning Skill successful, you obtained 1175 Mechanical Centipedes, Soul Summoning Skill gained 1175 experience points, Book of the Grub gained 1175 experience points.]

[Mechanical Centipede (Level 8, Summoned Creatures): Experience (0/1500), Attack 15, Defense 20, Life 80, Skills: Poisonous Bite, High-speed Charge, Poison Needle Spray]

What was just assembled is a kind of insect similar to a centipede.

However, compared to normal centipedes, the size of this Mechanical Centipede in front of you is considerably long, with a length of about one meter and the breadth as thick as a normal arm.

This centipede’s body emits a metallic sheen, and on its head, waist, and tail, it has six pairs of transparent wings in total.

With the help of these wings, all the Mechanical Centipedes fly about fifty centimeters above the ground.

Moreover, due to flying, all the limb joints of the Mechanical Centipede cannot move; these limb joints stand upright toward the sky, sharply aiming at the surroundings.

If you look closely, you can also see that these limb joints flicker with green poison.

You can tell that these limb joints are not meant for movement, everything about these Mechanical Centipedes is focused on attack.

However, Gu Xi can obviously feel it.

These Mechanical Centipedes appear to gleam with metallic light, but they are truly Undead creatures.

Unlike Stone Golems, which are called ghosts but are actually Puppet Golems.

These in front of you, called mechanical, are actually all Undead.

Moreover, their production rate is quite good, requiring the bodies of three Mechanical Dolls to assemble into one Mechanical Centipede.

In just a moment, a large number of Mechanical Centipedes appeared on the ground.

They did not run around randomly but waited in place for Gu Xi’s command.

The Book of the Grub, having gained a lot of experience, quickly retreated to the side.

Gu Xi could clearly feel that the Book of the Grub had visibly become much more solid.

He believed that with three or four more instances like this, the Book of the Grub would become an entity, and this path would be completed.

Seeing these Mechanical Centipedes, Gu Xi raised his left hand, and the Equipment Carrier of the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe appeared in front of him.

Gu Xi did not need to explain anything, just pointed toward the direction of the Mechanical Centipedes.

The Equipment Carrier floated toward the Mechanical Centipedes.

All the Mechanical Centipedes did not react at all, as if the Equipment Carrier did not exist.

It hovered over the Mechanical Centipedes and pointed to three Mechanical Centipedes that had just been observed.

The action seemed to be saying, ”I have high hopes for you.”

When these three Mechanical Centipedes were pointed at, their colors changed swiftly.

From the original metallic color, one turned black, one deep purple, and one bright green.

After that, the three Mechanical Centipedes quickly began to command their companions.

Seeing their actions, it is clear that just now, these three Mechanical Centipedes underwent a transformation.

This is precisely what Gu Xi learned in these months.

Some things are not about the literal meaning; some equipment’s capabilities affect in details.

Like the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe, optimizing soldiers’ levels through Sealing Altar and Honoring Generals is basically a joke.

What use is leveling up when it can’t surpass the Death Incarnation?

The true function of this skill is to transform Ordinary Soldiers into Boss or Warriors.

Of course, because Gu Xi threw out the Purple Armor and did not wear the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe himself.

Some things couldn’t be fully utilized.

After experimenting with the traits of the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe, Gu Xi found that the highest transformation by the Equipment Carrier could only reach Boss Level, not Hero or Leader Level.

Of course.

Perhaps this reason lies in the lack of experience for transformation, and partly due to the Equipment Carrier itself.

After all, once the Purple Armor was thrown into the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp, the skill no longer belonged to the Purple Armor, but borrowed the power of the Orange Armor to activate.

There is an intervening layer, which even Gu Xi could not handle.

Transforming into Boss Level is already sufficient for Gu Xi.

With these few bosses commanding, all the Mechanical Centipedes moved together, automatically splitting into three groups.

Gu Xi nodded with satisfaction and pointed around him.

”Now you are the new scouts, go out and explore.”

Gu Xi sent the Mechanical Centipedes out and immediately put down the Steel City Gate in place.

Meanwhile, a message was quickly sent from the city.

While Gu Xi was defeating those Mechanical Dolls, a batch of new Undead appeared in the city.

Although their levels were low, their quality was quite good.

They were not the Corpse Children that came along with the Corpse Mother earlier, but rather robust bodies with strong bones, worthy Undead.

One by one, zombies with dark green skin and skeletons as hard as iron.

One look and you can tell they are the finest breed.

Hearing this news made Gu Xi realize that his Death Decree level had somewhat increased.

The effects of the Double Death Talent became increasingly useful.

All the enemies in front were made of iron cast.

Gu Xi could not spawn iron casted Undead in the city, but he could make the constitution of these new Undead tougher.

This harvest looks good this time.

Even if he didn’t solve the world’s core issue, just eliminating these Mechanical Dolls made Gu Xi’s visit worthwhile.

If all enemies are like this, Gu Xi will be very smooth.

Then at least deploy four to five thousand Level 8 Undead Corps out, and see who would dare to speak arrogantly to Gu Xi.

As for the Undead inside the city, all will be placed in the Barracks serving as seed troops, allowing them to slowly raise their levels.

Once they reach a certain level, they can be assigned to various Training Camps for employment.

Then they will be the most sought-after soldiers in various camps and even legions.

While Gu Xi was arranging destinations for these soldiers, the sound of fighting suddenly came from afar.

Gu Xi felt a bit puzzled.

He only sent the Mechanical Centipedes to serve as scouts, not to engage in combat.

How did they start fighting?

But in the next second, Gu Xi realized.

He seemed to have thought incorrectly; this is the Lower World.

The ceiling for soldier levels in this world is roughly at Level 4.

Most troop levels range from Level 1 to Level 2, having over a thousand Level 8 soldiers, if they discover an enemy but do not dare to engage, they can be discarded entirely.

At this moment the Mechanical Centipedes’ reaction makes the most sense.

Gu Xi helplessly smiled, silently acknowledging that sometimes his mind has gaps, not thinking of such simple issues.

Knowing this early would have changed his strategy, letting the army sweep through.

Advanced Undead killing low-level enemies yields little experience, why not release the Undead inside the city whose levels have not yet increased?
