Undead Mage from a Cell

Talking about the fame of King of the Wheel, the temple priest sighed with some sentimentality.

After all, looking back a little over a thousand years ago, it wasn’t even about having fifty thousand heavy cavalry, but just five thousand heavy cavalry could invoke the phrase, ”The mandate changes, divine artifact is easier, and belongs to the virtuous, as is the natural order.”

But who would have thought that the imperial court would just throw out a phrase like, ”Ghost soldiers and generals,” intending to establish an underground ghost kingdom.

This, in turn, triggered a siege by all the forces of the world.

Even the cult got involved in a couple of ways.

With fifty thousand heavy cavalry, plus various auxiliary troops, foot soldiers, adding up to roughly one hundred sixty or seventy thousand, they got fragmented into pieces.

Step by step, they were devoured by the imperial court’s forces.

Those who escaped here included one of the three vanguards under King of the Wheel’s command.

Under King of the Wheel, there was one commander, two generals, three vanguards, four logistics officers, and ten major generals.

Aside from the commander leading fifty thousand heavy cavalry, each of the others commanded ten thousand heavy cavalry, and the remaining were led personally by King of the Wheel.

This vanguard was chased to this side and finally got caught in a ten-faced ambush and was killed off by an army of fifty to sixty thousand.

Back then, more than ten well-known imperial generals died in battle.

Thinking about what this battle meant for the Great Feng Dynasty.

Since then, the various sects and noble families that were originally in the wild made their move all at once, the orders of the Da Feng royal family, not to mention leaving the capital city, couldn’t even leave their own imperial palace.

The actual control of this nearby area fell into the hands of the Daoist Sect of Wenshan Dao.

The previous tiger only sat steadily in the Mountain God position after defeating the expert sent by the Daoist Sect of Wenshan Dao.

Now that Gu Xi has killed the tiger, as long as no significant hatred is aroused, Wenshan Dao would not come to interfere.

After the sigh, the temple priest went on to talk about things concerning King of the Wheel.

This information left Gu Xi in silence.

This King of the Wheel is indeed fierce, fifty thousand heavy cavalry.

Unsure if these are of Knight Level or Death Knight Level.

But regardless, with such strength, one could walk sideways anywhere.

Yet, in the end, he was wiped out.

How stifling it must have been for him.

However, this made Gu Xi realize the depth of the world before him.

Don’t be fooled by this Mountain God being Level 10, there might be sects with Level 20 big shots in the background.

Better to consider his small goals first, settle down properly before proceeding.

”Okay, you’ve been quite detailed, did you see those skeleton soldiers, now the Chong Ghosts have almost been dealt with by them, take those skeleton soldiers and get to work.

I’ll be straightforward with you, I don’t need food or anything, what I need are various minerals.”

The temple priest heard this and knew that Wang Li Zheng got kicked out directly.

Now the only one who could contest the Mountain God position with him was Du Shusheng.

Thus he hurriedly greeted the skeleton soldiers under Gu Xi, leading him to a certain place.

”Start digging from here, there must be goods underneath.”

Gu Xi glanced over here and gave Shaya a look.

Shaya quickly came over to Gu Xi.

”Master, how about I go over there instead.”

”No, the Mountain God Temple relates to whether we can establish a foothold here, I’ll handle it myself.

You keep an eye here, if the suppression array here is broken and Yin soldiers appear, don’t intervene, wait for me to return before making any moves.”

Originally Gu Xi also thought of staying at the spot, waiting for the suppression array to be removed, and directly taking away those ghost soldiers and generals.

But the Mountain God Temple is crucial to Gu Xi, he cannot afford to give up his foundation just for a wave of Undead Corps.

Therefore, Gu Xi quickly decided to let Shaya keep watch here, while he took part of his troops to make a round at the Mountain God Temple.

At least the soul of the escaped hunter needed to be retrieved.

He could not let him escape just like that.

Jumping onto the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi raised the Cold Wind Staff in his hand, and the Ghost Dragon appeared behind him.

Simultaneously, within the Undead Corps, half of the troops automatically separated under the lead of the Undead Boss, following behind Gu Xi.

Seeing Gu Xi leaving with his troops, the temple priest and Chong Ghosts reacted differently, but they did not forget their work and continued with their tasks.

After leaving the valley, Gu Xi discovered the road here was quite difficult to traverse.

Outside the valley, all one could see were mountains.

The previous annihilation of over ten thousand heavy cavalry here was not without reason.

The cavalry’s group charge here simply could not be executed, at times those heavy cavalry even had to dismount and fight.

Furthermore, the mountain tops here were layered repeatedly, any place could be a spot to ambush a large army.

This ten-faced ambush tactic was most suited for such a place.

Entering this mountain forest was akin to entering a Heaven and Earth Net, without certain skills, one couldn’t even fight their way out.

Not long after Gu Xi entered the forest, the dispatched Stone Golems returned, having found the location of the Mountain God Temple.

Judging by the Stone Golem’s response, there was no more defense at the Mountain God Temple, Gu Xi could proceed directly.

Yet Gu Xi did not take any chances, proceeding with the troops, although slower, ensured safety, especially when Gu Xi had just arrived in this world and was unclear about the situation; he didn’t want any mishaps in some corner.

They bypassed several mountaintops and finally arrived at the location of the Mountain God Temple.

Approaching this mountaintop, Gu Xi first sensed an odd feeling.

The mountain clearly had a picturesque style, with sunlight naturally sprinkled across the forest, exuding a sense of natural beauty from afar.

But for some reason, Gu Xi felt that the forest ahead was filled with an eerie chill, and as the mountain wind blew, a stench different from the mountain forest style hit.

”Is it here?”

Gu Xi stood on the Evil Coffin looking into the forest, finally asking.

The few Stone Golems nodded affirmatively, they came here following the hunter’s soul.

Gu Xi thought for a moment and pointed into the forest.

”Advance!”

At Gu Xi’s command, the skeleton soldiers began to move forward. As they cleared the path, Gu Xi also discovered the reason for the forest’s peculiarity, that tiger was not an orderly creature.

The things it consumed were spat out directly, left in the forest.

Not bad from a distance, but upon closer proximity, under the trees and in the bushes, lay dehydrated corpses.

Even as an Undead Mage like Gu Xi felt the stench unbearable.

”Soul Summoning Tower!”

After releasing the Soul Summoning Tower, Gu Xi did not directly enter the mountain god temple’s range, but stood above the Soul Summoning Tower, raising the Cold Wind Staff, and pointed at this forest.

”Soul Summoning Skill!”
