Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 564: Chapter 562: We’re Withdrawing

”Warning, warning! The Evil God Hall’s self-destruction system has been activated. It will automatically explode in ten minutes. Please reach the top platform to evacuate the Evil God Hall within ten minutes!

Warning again, the Evil God Hall’s self-destruction system has been activated!”

Just as Gu Xi was about to return to the top platform through the Steel City Gate, a voice suddenly echoed.

Then Gu Xi heard the rumbling sounds, and all the nearby doors fully opened, activating the stairs leading to the top platform.

Gu Xi was completely stunned at first.

What was going on? He didn’t press any red button recklessly.

How could it be self-destructing?

A speechless Gu Xi glanced at the Ice and Snow Treasure Chest in front of him, and suddenly had a suspicion.

Could there be a self-destruction switch beneath this treasure chest?

If that’s the case, then the arrangement of the Evil God Hall makes sense.

After defeating the four bosses behind the four doors and returning to the lower hall, proceed to fight the Tail King.

After killing the Tail King, the self-destruction is initiated immediately as they divide the loot, without having to consider how to deal with the Evil God Hall.

The whole path has been calculated.

As for reaching a safe spot, if you can’t fly or find a way to leave, it’s your own problem. Don’t blame others if you die.

However, the Tail King of the Evil God Hall never expected Gu Xi to act so irrationally.

Not only did he not fight his way up from below, but he went directly to the final platform, dismantled most of it, and took everything from the treasure chest without the Tail King appearing.

As a result, it prematurely triggered the self-destruction system.

At this moment, Gu Xi didn’t care about anything else. He raised his hand to retrieve the Steel City Gate, then leaped onto the Evil Coffin and rushed toward the stairs.

In this rush, Gu Xi took just over two minutes to reach the platform.

By this time, the east and south sides of the platform had been almost dug up by Gu Xi, but he noticed that at locations not yet excavated, several activated Teleportation Arrays had appeared on the ground.

It seems this is the way to leave the Evil God Hall.

Just unsure if Fang Kang and the others down below can escape.

As Gu Xi thought to himself, he started ordering Shaya to lead the troops to retreat into the various city gates.

He didn’t know that at this time, Fang Kang and the other two were in a completely confused state.

Although their levels were relatively high, their forces were not as strong as Gu Xi’s.

They didn’t have situations like Gu Xi, where the army increased as they fought.

During battles, they always probed first, figuring out the enemy situation before making a move.

Currently, the fastest progress among them is Fang Kang, who has already defeated two bosses and is preparing to face the third.

The other two just reached the second boss.

In fact, Fang Kang’s initial calculation wasn’t wrong. They had two days to defeat three bosses and one final day for the Tail King.

But now, they’ve just reached the second boss and the Evil God Hall is about to self-destruct.

With only ten minutes left, there’s not enough time for them to run out from here.

In urgent concern, Fang Kang ignored the incomplete battlefield, immediately gathering all his subordinates.

Finally, he opened that box-like object and from the second-to-last layer took out a golden oil lamp.

He placed the oil lamp in front of him and gently rubbed it.

A blue-skinned elf, with a lower body like a whirlwind, appeared before him—this was the legendary Wish Lamp God.

”What do you wish for?”

”Take me to the nearest exit point,” Fang Kang initially wanted the elf to send him to the main hall, but after reconsidering whether the hall could leave the Evil God Hall, he quickly changed his mind.

”Ten days.” The Wish Lamp God stated its terms.

”Deal!”

Fang Kang agreed decisively.

If he didn’t, he feared he might die here.

So the Wish Lamp God blew in the direction of Fang Kang, and in the next instant, Fang Kang, along with his box, disappeared from the battlefield.

At this moment, Gu Xi was checking the time while directing his subordinates in their final dismantling tasks.

A few minutes remained, so every bit they could take was worthwhile.

Gu Xi couldn’t concern himself with much now; he was dismantling the materials near the city gate.

Meanwhile, he stood waiting in front of the Teleportation Gate, ready to abandon everything and teleport away when the last minute came.

But as he was dismantling, a sudden blue flash appeared before his eyes, and Fang Kang suddenly appeared in front of him.

Seeing Fang Kang, Gu Xi was also slightly surprised.

”Hello there, how’s your fight going? Which boss are you at now?”

The newly-arrived Fang Kang was still in shock.

Upon seeing Gu Xi, Fang Kang finally reacted, ”Gu Xi, it’s you? Did you activate the self-destruction system?”

”I didn’t activate the self-destruction system. I finished off the Tail King, got a treasure chest, and once the items inside were taken, it self-destructed.”

Gu Xi didn’t plan to tell that he climbed from outside and took the treasure chest without defeating the Tail King.

He clearly understood the player’s nature and didn’t want to be targeted.

”You defeated the Tail King? That doesn’t make sense; I was just preparing for the third boss.”

Gu Xi shrugged, ”My forces are strong, so I defeated them quickly. Just look at how many tens of thousands of White Impermanence I have.”

Gu Xi pointed to the Ghost Squad flying in the sky, still lamenting in his heart that he didn’t have an Angel skin to make them appear like tens of thousands of Angels.

Even if he didn’t claim to have defeated the Tail King, Fang Kang would assume Gu Xi did.

Fang Kang glanced at Gu Xi’s Ghost Squad, finally sighing.

”Being an Undead Mage is really great; your forces increase as you fight. Unlike us, where every soldier was painstakingly researched and created, losing one is heartbreaking.”

Gu Xi didn’t have the heart to say he was taking advantage of his talent this time.

It was even more embarrassing to mention that the Ghost Squad appeared larger than it was, with a few hundred ghosts equating to one person.

At this moment, Fang Kang suddenly looked around.

”Do you know where Li Dangna and Yuan Xihua ran off to?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi curiously asked, ”How did you get over here?”

”I spent ten days of my life to have the Wish Lamp God directly teleport me here.”

Fang Kang replied, and in the next moment, he remembered something and clapped his hand.

”Oh no, Li Dangna and Yuan Xihua might be heading back, and if they encounter each other, it will be a disaster.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi agreed.

If they were just retracing their steps, it might not be so bad.

At most, they’d be uncertain if there were Teleportation Gates in the main hall from the start.

But if Li Dangna and Yuan Xihua collided, the two would undoubtedly fight.

But there’s no time now.

Gu Xi pondered, ”Forget it, rally the troops, Shaya, get everyone on board, we’re retreating.”
