Looking at the items being delivered, Gu Xi more or less understood the harvest this time.

In this batch of loot, the weapon equipment wasn’t the focus; the real focus was the food and the idea of cooking these foods.

These foods, ranging from the gray buns to the blue large roasted beef, were all good. It was uncertain how much the tavern’s chef could cook up.

Just as Gu Xi was pondering this matter, a group of people rushed out from the main city gate.

Among them was a Skeleton dressed in a chef’s outfit, with a ”Special” character drawn on its left arm.

Upon appearing, the Skeleton glanced around. Most of the roasted meats were scattered everywhere due to the previous battle and were clearly inedible.

Edible intact foods were already gathered and placed in front of Gu Xi.

The chef quickly approached one of the piles of roasted meat, grabbed a roasted chicken from the plate, and took a bite.

”The taste... this has some fungus, fennel, and shiitake...”

The chef muttered about the roasted chicken’s recipe while eating, then looked up, ”After eating this, it can significantly replenish life. It’s an interesting recipe.”

”Can you reproduce it?”

Gu Xi asked.

”Yes, though it might not achieve the exact same effect. After all, there will be some differences in materials. The food here looks handmade, but it’s clearly not a replica.

If using cooking techniques, the effect could be similar but not identical.”

The chef immediately gave his assessment.

”How long will it take?”

”Time isn’t the issue, but what about materials?

This roasted chicken can be replaced with owl, but what about the roast pig or roast beef? There’s none of that in the city.”

Gu Xi wanted to say, ”Owl appreciates your choice.”

But he really couldn’t source enough ingredients.

”Forget it, you focus on researching the recipe first. Once I get a farm or livestock architectural design plan, I’ll prioritize their construction.”

Faced with the chef’s question, that was all Gu Xi could answer.

”Alright, once these recipes are developed, the tavern can be upgraded, and the barmaid can relax a bit.”

Listening to the chef, for some reason, Gu Xi had the feeling like the chef was a lackey.

But Gu Xi didn’t bother much with ordinary Undead affairs inside the city. As long as they didn’t cause major trouble, Gu Xi didn’t care what they did.

”Fine, I’ll have them send all these foods to you. Can you also make buns?”

”Yes, but it’s unnecessary; this thing is just junk.”

The chef immediately commented. To him, none of the foods here had any technical depth.

Apart from the buns, everything else was simply roasted, clearly without being cooked in a pot.

This limited many cooking techniques, resulting in not-so-tasty food.

If it weren’t for the good attributes of these foods and their need for various food recipes, the chef wouldn’t even take a second look.

Gu Xi then pointed to the smashed foods.

”Can those be eaten?”

”Even dogs wouldn’t eat those.”

Without even glancing at the smashed food on the ground, the chef said, ”Sir, you might as well forget about those. Even if brought back, they would only be classified as garbage.

But I do have an idea; you could collect them, compress them into balls, and use them as catapult stones.”

Gu Xi pondered and finally waved his hand, ”Forget it, I’ll handle this side. You go back and work on the recipes.”

After sending off the chef, Gu Xi called for the Bone-devouring Mud from the back, to see if they would eat the smashed food.

The fact proved, there was nothing that the Bone-devouring Mud wouldn’t eat.

They not only ate the smashed food but also the broken plates and bowls.

Gu Xi was now considering that after the Evil God Hall battle, it might be necessary to prepare a garbage zone for the Mud Swamp rather than just a swamp area.

Their ability to eat anything was terrifying.

If they were in various city areas, the ground might be eaten away in just a few days.

The Bone-devouring Muds were oblivious to Gu Xi’s plans. They just knew the stuff in front of them looked tasty and was quite nutritious for them. Anyway, they were idle now, so eat!
