Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: Skipping Class

In the afternoon, 2:30 PM.

”Military training is about to start. Why isn’t Brother Fan here yet?”

Wang Shouyi whispered to He Dongdong beside him, his eyes fixed on the empty entrance to the basketball court.

”I don’t know. Maybe something came up with Professor Wang?”

He Dongdong whispered back.

”Everyone, stop talking!”

Just then, the dark-faced instructor, Ge Rundong, shouted.

Seeing this, Wang Shouyi and He Dongdong quickly shut their mouths.

”Attention, all personnel!”

”Stand at attention!”

”Eyes right!”

”Front and center!”

”At ease!”

”Sound off!”

”One, two, three...”

...

Unsurprisingly, Gu Yifan was absent!

He didn’t show up for the entire afternoon of military training.

After training ended, Peng Shaoqiang and the other two headed back to the dorms together.

”Hey, Peng Sao, why didn’t Brother Fan show up this afternoon?”

Wang Shouyi asked Peng Shaoqiang.

”I don’t know!”

”But I just got a message from our counselor. He said Old Fan requested leave this afternoon for some personal business.” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Peng Shaoqiang replied.

”Oh... he took leave?”

”As long as it was an official leave, that’s fine. Otherwise, I was worried he’d get targeted by Old Hei Ge again tomorrow.”

Wang Shouyi said with a nod.

”Don’t worry!”

”I already mentioned it to Instructor Ge before we left!”

Peng Shaoqiang said with a wave of his hand.

”Oh, okay!”

”I wonder how Brother Fan is doing!”

”He didn’t look so good at noon. You don’t think something happened, do you?”

He Dongdong, who was walking alongside them, chimed in worriedly.

”Come on, Dongzi!”

”Old Fan probably had something unexpected come up with Professor Wang and just couldn’t make it back in time!”

”Besides, Old Fan is so responsible. He doesn’t need you worrying about him!”

”Let’s hurry back to the dorm, change, and go get some food. I’m starving!”

Seeing his worried expression, Peng Shaoqiang couldn’t help but roll his eyes and say irritably.

With that, he pulled the other two along, squeezed into the crowd, and quickened his pace toward the men’s dormitory.

...

「Meanwhile.」

Gu Yifan was sitting in the CEO’s office at Yihe Technology, sipping tea and listening to Wang Shouren’s report.

By 3:30 PM, he had already finished the task Professor Wang had given him!

Seeing that military training had already started long ago, he found himself in an awkward spot time-wise.

So, he decided to just skip it altogether!

As the saying goes: a college experience isn’t complete without skipping class!

Perfect timing! Besides, Wang Shouren had called a couple of days ago asking him to come by the company for a progress report.

And so, Gu Yifan had simply requested leave!

...

”Alright, President Wang, that’s enough. I have a general idea of the situation now.”

Seeing that Wang Shouren was nearly finished, Gu Yifan waved his hand to cut him off.

”Understood, President Gu!”

”That summarizes the current situation. Based on our current development progress, Madou TV should be able to officially launch by the beginning of next month. However, the mobile app you mentioned, President Gu, probably won’t be ready that quickly.”

Wang Shouren explained with a nod.

”Hmm... Are there any difficulties with the mobile app development at the moment?”

Gu Yifan mused for a moment before asking.

”Er...”

”Well, how should I put this... There aren’t any major problems, per se. It’s just that our company doesn’t have enough experienced developers for mobile software. Everyone’s main focus has been on the desktop client, which is why the mobile app’s progress is a bit slow. But the overall impact isn’t significant, since the market is still dominated by desktop users.”

”Besides, smartphones haven’t become widespread yet. Most people are still using feature phones with keypads, and those things can’t support our Madou TV livestream.”

Wang Shouren replied after a moment of thought.

Hearing Wang Shouren’s words, Gu Yifan’s brow furrowed slightly.

Seeing this, Wang Shouren said nothing more, sitting quietly and waiting for him to speak.

After a long silence,

Gu Yifan looked up at Wang Shouren and asked, ”How much money does the company have on the books?”

”To answer, President Gu, the company currently has over 9.6 million on the books. Over one million of that has been used for the current...”

Wang Shouren was cut off by Gu Yifan before he could finish.

”Alright, I get it!”

”Hire more people!”

Gu Yifan said flatly.

”Huh?”

Wang Shouren was stunned for a second, but he quickly understood.

”President Gu, are you saying we should hire more people to work on the mobile app development?”

he asked Gu Yifan.

”Yes!”

Gu Yifan nodded, then looked up at him with a serious expression. ”Hire people. I want our Madou app to be on every single smartphone before the National Day holiday!”

”But...”

Gu Yifan’s demand put Wang Shouren in a difficult position.

”What is it?”

”Is there some other difficulty, President Wang?”

Gu Yifan asked coolly.

’Boss, you’ve already said it. What else can I say?’

’One word from the top, and the people below run themselves ragged!’

Wang Shouren thought helplessly.

”None at all!”

He shook his head and said decisively.

”Good.”

Only then did Gu Yifan nod in satisfaction.

He picked up his phone and glanced at the time. It was already 6:30 PM.

He then stood up and said, ”Alright, it’s getting late. President Wang, you should head home early too once you’re done!”

”I’m heading out.”

With that, he turned and walked out of the office.

Wang Shouren: ”...”

’You just gave me a mountain of work. How the hell am I supposed to leave early?!’

Gazing at Gu Yifan’s dashingly carefree back as he left, he couldn’t help but curse silently in his heart.

As Gu Yifan walked out of the office, he noticed that everyone was still at their desks working overtime. None of them showed any sign of leaving.

’Look at this thriving and bustling scene!’

’Not bad, not bad at all!’

Gu Yifan nodded with great satisfaction.

’As expected!’

’A capitalist’s favorite pastime really is exploiting and squeezing their employees!’

he thought, shamelessly patting himself on the back.

”Hello, Boss~”

When he reached the front desk, the receptionist, He Lina, greeted him with a sweet smile.

”Mm... You’re Xiaohu, right?”

Gu Yifan nodded slightly and said casually, ”If there’s nothing else, you should head home early too!”

”Okay, Boss!”

Seeing that Gu Yifan remembered her, He Lina’s face flushed with excitement. She quickly said, ”I’ll leave as soon as I finish organizing these files!”

”Okay.”

Gu Yifan gave a small nod and didn’t say anything more.

He turned, walked out of the company’s main entrance, and headed for the elevators.

Staring at Gu Yifan’s tall, handsome back, He Lina murmured to herself, her expression completely smitten, ”Sigh... the boss is so handsome. If only I could be his girlfriend...”

DING~

Gu Yifan’s luck was good. He had just reached the elevators and pressed the button when one arrived moments later.

After getting into the elevator, Gu Yifan took out his phone and dialed Su Qinghe’s number.

BEEP—BEEP BEEP—

The phone rang for a long time before it was answered.

”Hello~”

Su Qinghe’s voice, slightly rushed yet incredibly soft and sweet, came from the other end of the line...
