Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Gu Yifan: I Brought My Own, Two Boxes!

”???”

Gu Yifan was completely stunned. He looked down at Su Qinghe, his face a mask of shock.

Su Qinghe’s face was flushed red, and she looked incredibly shy.

’But... a waterbed???’

’Oh, my dear Su Hanhan!’

’Do you even know what a waterbed is for?!’

For a moment, Gu Yifan was at a complete loss for words.

The atmosphere suddenly grew a little awkward. The hotel receptionist at the counter watched the two of them with a thoughtful expression.

”Su Hanhan, are you sure you want the ’love-themed’ waterbed room?”

Gu Yifan asked quietly after a long silence.

”Mhm.”

Su Qinghe nodded instinctively.

But!

She had no idea what a waterbed was; she thought it was just a regular large bed!

Seeing her nod, Gu Yifan felt even more helpless. He leaned close to Su Qinghe’s ear and whispered, ”Su Hanhan, you’re playing with fire, you know that!”

”Huh???”

Su Qinghe froze for a second.

She furrowed her delicate brow, not quite understanding what Gu Yifan was saying.

After a moment’s thought, she just assumed Gu Yifan was talking about the issue of a man and a woman sharing a room. Her face flushed slightly, and she shyly lowered her head.

Gu Yifan saw her look confused at first, then incredibly bashful.

’Welp!’

’Case closed!’

’That settles it! This silly Su Qinghe really has no idea what a waterbed is for!’

Gu Yifan shook his head helplessly, turned to the receptionist at the counter, and asked, ”Do you have a standard room?”

”Huh?”

The hotel receptionist was taken aback for a moment. ”Didn’t you want to book the love-themed waterbed room?” she asked instinctively.

Gu Yifan: -_-||

He was speechless, his face darkening. ”Just a standard room! Compared to a waterbed, I prefer to keep my wet and dry separate!”

”Oh-ho?”

Hearing Gu Yifan’s words, the hotel receptionist’s eyes lit up slightly. She understood instantly!

”Alright, just a moment, I’ll check for you!”

she said, giving Gu Yifan a sly, knowing smile.

”Fine.”

Gu Yifan, however, couldn’t be bothered with her and just gave a deadpan nod.

”Ooh~”

After her fingers went CLICK-CLACK a few times on the keyboard, the receptionist smiled and said, ”Sir, you’re in luck. There’s exactly one standard room left!”

”Great, we’ll take it!”

Gu Yifan said without the slightest hesitation.

”Okay, I’ll need to see both of your IDs, and there’s a five-hundred-yuan security deposit!”

the receptionist said with practiced ease.

...

「A few minutes later.」

The check-in process was complete.

”Alright, here are your IDs and room key card. Please keep them safe. Your room is 305 on the third floor. When you get out of the elevator, it’s to the left.”

The hotel receptionist said with a smile as she handed over their IDs and the key card.

”Okay, thank you!”

It was already very late. After saying thanks, Gu Yifan turned, pulling the suitcase with one hand and holding Su Qinghe’s hand with the other as he walked toward the elevators.

”Hey, sir, wait a second!”

Just as the two of them reached the elevator doors, the hotel receptionist suddenly called out to them.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan paused and turned to look back at the receptionist, a bit puzzled. ”Is there something else?”

”Um... I was just wondering if you two might need this?”

As she spoke, she pulled out a box of Durex ultrathin condoms from under the counter. She gave them another knowing smile. ”The ones in the room are more expensive, not as good of a deal. Want to take a box with you?”

Gu Yifan: ”...”

Su Qinghe: ”???”

After a long silence, the corner of Gu Yifan’s mouth twitched. ”No thanks, we brought our own.”

After a moment’s thought, he held up two fingers and added, ”Two boxes!!!”

With that, he took Su Qinghe’s little hand, pressed the elevator button, and led the bewildered girl inside, leaving the jaw-dropped receptionist frozen in place.

”Bad... Badass!”

After a long moment of silence, the receptionist sputtered out those two words.

...

”Just now, what did that lady at the counter mean?”

Su Qinghe asked quietly in the elevator after a moment of hesitation.

”It didn’t mean anything. Don’t overthink it.”

Gu Yifan glanced at her and said flatly.

DING~

The elevator doors opened, and Gu Yifan led her out.

”Room 305...”

’Ugh... I wasn’t paying attention to what the receptionist said just now.’ Looking at the room number on the wall, Gu Yifan was a little baffled.

’Room 305 again... What a coincidence!’

Shaking his head, he didn’t dwell on it. He swiped the key card, opened the door, inserted it into the power slot, and led Su Qinghe inside.

’A star-rated hotel is a star-rated hotel, after all.’ Even though it was just a standard room, it was still clean and spacious.

He casually tossed the suitcase onto the luggage rack and turned to Su Qinghe. ”Do you want to shower first, or should I?”

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe was still thinking about the conversation between Gu Yifan and the receptionist, only snapping back to reality when she heard his question.

’Oh, right!’

’Tonight is different from before. There’s only one room...’

”You... you go first.”

Su Qinghe said, her face flushing slightly.

”Alright, you rest for a bit. I’m going to take a shower.”

With that, Gu Yifan opened his suitcase, grabbed a change of pajamas, and walked into the bathroom.

Watching Gu Yifan’s back as he entered the bathroom, Su Qinghe couldn’t help but start to feel nervous.

SPLASH—SPLASH—

A moment later, the sound of the shower running came from the bathroom.

Su Qinghe’s heart began to pound—THUMP THUMP THUMP. She had been sleepy before, but now all traces of drowsiness were gone.

She walked over to one of the beds and sat down, her hands clasping together tightly. She looked a little lost.

「A dozen or so minutes later...」

Gu Yifan walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel.

Perhaps because he had just taken a hot shower, Gu Yifan felt a little warm and didn’t put on a shirt.

”Huh~”

Gu Yifan asked, a little puzzled, ”Su Hanhan, why didn’t you turn on the AC?”

”Ah?”

His voice pulled Su Qinghe from her jumbled thoughts, and she instinctively glanced at Gu Yifan.

She saw Gu Yifan, shirtless, his perfectly sculpted eight-pack abs filling her vision...

Su Qinghe’s eyes widened!

The next second, her face turned beet red. She hastily averted her gaze, like a startled little rabbit, not daring to meet Gu Yifan’s eyes.

’Uh...’

When Su Qinghe didn’t answer, Gu Yifan turned to look at her.

He saw that Su Qinghe’s face was bright red, looking just like a ripe honey peach!

’What’s... going on here?’

Gu Yifan was a little baffled.

He suddenly glanced down at himself and instantly understood what was happening.

Seeing her look so incredibly shy, Gu Yifan couldn’t resist teasing her a little.

He casually tossed the towel onto a rack and began walking toward Su Qinghe, one step at a time.

Su Qinghe kept her head down, but she could sense Gu Yifan approaching her step by step.

THUMP-THUMP~!!!

In that instant, her heart began to race again, and her face grew even hotter...
