Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: A Chance Encounter? Whale Gu Yifan

After a slight hesitation, Bao Baijie and the other girls exchanged a look, then nodded. ”Since Handsome Gu has put it that way, it would be rude of us not to go!”

”Girls, we’ve got to bleed this couple dry tonight!”

”That’ll teach them to stop being so lovey-dovey in front of us all the time!”

”Yeah!”

”Bleed the rich dog!”

Chu Xiaomeng suddenly shouted from the side.

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan froze for a moment, and the other girls did too.

”Wh-what’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?”

Still not realizing her mistake, Chu Xiaomeng looked utterly confused as everyone stared at her.

”Well...”

”Um... Classmate Chu, could I trouble you to drop the ’dog’ part?”

Gu Yifan rubbed his nose, looking both embarrassed and resigned.

”Huh?”

Chu Xiaomeng was a bit slow on the uptake, and it took her a moment to realize what she’d said.

WHOOSH. Her face instantly flushed crimson.

”S-Sorry! I... Classmate Gu, I didn’t mean it...”

Chu Xiaomeng frantically waved her hands, her face a mask of embarrassment.

”Ah...”

”Don’t worry about it, I was just joking!”

”Besides, even though ’rich dog’ doesn’t sound too flattering, it seems people with that title were actually pretty wealthy back in the day!”

”I’ll just take it as a compliment from Classmate Chu!”

”Hmm... ’rich dog’ it is, then. Tonight, I’ll be the ’rich dog’ for a change!”

”Ladies, eat to your hearts’ content tonight. Order as much as you want, it’s all on me!”

Gu Yifan said with a magnanimous wave of his hand.

”In that case, our thanks to Handsome Gu in advance!”

”Hahaha...”

The group burst into laughter, amused by Gu Yifan’s wit and humor. The atmosphere was completely harmonious.

...

「At 7:30 in the evening,」

in a food court not far from the entrance of Jinling University.

At a table large enough for ten, Su Qinghe was carefully rinsing Gu Yifan’s bowl and chopsticks with hot water.

Meanwhile, Gu Yifan sat beside her with his head down, typing on his phone, seemingly replying to a message.

”Thank you.”

Su Qinghe said suddenly in a quiet voice.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan, who was in the middle of replying to a message, stopped what he was doing when he heard her sudden ”thank you” and looked up at her in confusion.

”Why the sudden thank you?”

”I gave water to the classmates who forgot to bring theirs today, and they were all so grateful.”

”I’ve never experienced anything like that before.”

Su Qinghe explained quietly.

”Oh, so that’s what this is about?”

Realization dawned on Gu Yifan. He thought for a moment before asking, ”So, did that make you happy?”

”Mm-hm!”

”Very happy!”

Su Qinghe said, nodding vigorously.

”Well... as long as you’re happy, that’s what matters.”

Gu Yifan smiled. ”From now on, they’ll remember your kindness. No one in class should be picking on you anymore.”

”Oh, I see.”

Su Qinghe nodded again, still only half-understanding.

”Alright, that’s enough about that.”

Gu Yifan put down his phone and reached out to pinch her cheek. ”By the way, you and I... we don’t need to say ’thank you’ to each other.”

At his words, Su Qinghe froze. A warmth bloomed in her chest as she gazed at his handsome face.

”Mm-hm~”

Su Qinghe smiled sweetly and nodded emphatically.

Since everyone was sore and sweaty after a full day of military training, Bao Baijie and her friends went back to the dorm to shower and change first.

It was understandable, really.

After all, girls always want to look their best before they go out.

As for Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe, they simply went back to their own little courtyard house for a quick shower and change of clothes before heading out.

Since they drove, they arrived pretty early.

After all, they were the hosts. You can’t keep your guests waiting.

As for why he chose a casual spot in an ordinary food court, it wasn’t because Gu Yifan was too cheap to take them to a five-star restaurant. It was because they were all students. A sudden invitation to a fancy hotel would probably make everyone, especially the girls, feel awkward and unable to relax.

A casual eatery near the university was affordable and a better fit for the student budget. It was a place where everyone could chat and relax without feeling self-conscious. It was just right.

”Hanhan, your classmates should be here soon. Should we go ahead and order?”

”Take a look and see what you want to eat. We can order whatever you like.”

Gu Yifan glanced at the time on his phone and smiled at Su Qinghe.

His gentle, doting expression made Su Qinghe’s heart flutter with happiness.

”Anything... anything is fine. You can just order.”

She said in a quiet, obedient voice.

Seeing her response, Gu Yifan didn’t press the issue. He simply picked up the menu and began to look it over.

After a quick glance through the menu, Gu Yifan called a server over.

”This one, this one... oh, and those. We’ll have them all.”

Gu Yifan told the young waitress.

”Right away. Please wait a moment.”

The waitress nodded and went to put in their order.

Gu Yifan ordered twelve or thirteen dishes in one breath. He figured that should be enough to start, and if not, they could always add more later.

Just then,

at the food court entrance, three furtive figures appeared, horsing around as they headed toward the casual eatery section.

”Hey, do you think the reason Brother Fan doesn’t live in the dorm is because he’s living with his girlfriend off-campus?”

”How would I know?”

”You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?”

”Weren’t you the one who said that?”

”Bullshit!”

”I never said that!”

”I don’t care! You’re the one who said it, so you have to treat us tonight. Otherwise, I’m telling Old Fan tomorrow!”

”Treat you my ass! I’m broke!”

Sao Man Peng Shaoqiang and Young Master B Wang Shouyi were squabbling.

”Huh...?”

Suddenly, He Dongdong spotted Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe not far away.

”Brother Fan?”

He blurted out instinctively.

”What Brother Fan?”

”Didn’t Old Fan say he was with his girl?”

Hearing He Dongdong, Peng Shaoqiang and Wang Shouyi instinctively turned to him and asked in unison.

”Brother Fan is right there!”

He Dongdong said, pointing in Gu Yifan’s direction.

Following his finger, Peng Shaoqiang and Wang Shouyi saw him too—Gu Yifan, talking with Su Qinghe.

”Uh...”

The two of them froze.

”Dongzi, that beauty next to Brother Fan, that’s his girlfriend, right?”

Wang Shouyi asked instinctively.

”Yep!”

He Dongdong nodded.

”Damn... his girlfriend is gorgeous. Old Fan really is something else!”

”He’s one lucky bastard!”

Peng Shaoqiang was also stunned by Su Qinghe’s beauty, his expression one of pure shock.

And just at that moment,

Gu Yifan happened to look up toward the entrance. His eyes landed on the three of them, standing there and looking all sneaky...
