Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Run for Temporary Leader? No! A Class Officer? Even a Dog Wouldn’t Do It

After roll call, everyone had gotten a chance to know each other a little.

With Peng Shaoqiang, an extreme social butterfly, chattering away next to him and rating the girls in their class on their looks and figures, Gu Yifan learned that there were indeed a few girls with nice bodies.

’Hmm... Papaya Lady Chen Siqi is one of them!’

’A legal loli. She’s pretty popular with the guys.’

After roll call, it was time to elect temporary class representatives.

”Alright... Our class has fifty students in total. Aside from a few who are running late due to family matters, everyone else has arrived!”

”Next is the second item on tonight’s agenda: electing two temporary class representatives, one boy and one girl. They’ll be responsible for helping me manage class affairs during military training.”

”Let’s start by choosing the male representative. Hmm... is anyone interested? Any volunteers?”

At the advisor’s words, many students in the class looked eager to give it a shot. Even the flashy Peng Shaoqiang seemed tempted.

Gu Yifan, however, remained completely unperturbed.

It was simple.

He had no interest in being a class officer.

Being a student officer in college was a good way to develop one’s skills, sure.

The positions of class president and Youth League secretary, in particular, offered significant advantages for anyone looking to join the Party or pursue a future in politics.

But Gu Yifan had no plans to go into politics, so for him, these positions weren’t entirely useless, but they weren’t particularly useful either.

’Being a class officer is time-consuming, and it’s a lot of trouble!’

So!

’Since I’m not looking for anything, why ask for trouble?’

’I could use that time to tease Su Qinghe and rub her feet instead!’

Suddenly.

Gu Yifan noticed everyone’s eyes turning toward him.

”Er...”

He froze, completely bewildered. ”Why is everyone looking at me?”

”Master Extinc—er, the advisor is calling you!”

He Dongdong whispered from the side.

”Me?”

Gu Yifan was still confused. He turned toward the lectern at the front of the classroom and saw the advisor, Chen Wenjing, smiling at him.

”Gu Yifan, would you be interested in serving your fellow students as a temporary class representative?”

Chen Wenjing asked again.

”Huh?”

Gu Yifan was flabbergasted.

’Temporary class representative?’

’No, no, no. Someone else can have the job. There’s no way I’m doing it!’

Snapping out of it, he quickly said, ”Er... Teacher Chen, the university president assigned me a task. I have to go to the Bamboo Garden every day to study with Professor Wang, so I probably won’t have enough time to manage class affairs...”

”Why don’t you pick someone else? I’m not really cut out for it,” Gu Yifan said with a wry smile.

”Hmm?”

Chen Wenjing was a little surprised by his polite refusal.

’That makes sense.’

’The university probably has a lot of things planned for the top scorer of the entrance exam.’

After a moment’s thought, she didn’t press the issue.

She gave a slight nod. ”I see... that’s fine. Your work with Professor Wang is more important.”

”Teacher Chen, I think Peng Shaoqiang has the right personality to be the representative.”

”We’ve only known each other for less than an hour, but I can already tell he’s an extrovert who can get along with everyone. I think he’s a much better fit for the role than I am!”

Gu Yifan said after a moment of thought, pointing at Peng Shaoqiang, who was sitting beside him.

”??????”

Beside him, Peng Shaoqiang was completely dumbfounded. He stared at Gu Yifan in utter shock.

’Hey, wait a minute!’

’Bro, I haven’t even decided if I want to run yet!’

Following Gu Yifan’s gaze, everyone saw the dumbfounded look on Peng Shaoqiang’s face.

Dozens of pairs of eyes were fixed on him.

Even someone as thick-skinned as Peng Shaoqiang couldn’t help but blush.

Chen Wenjing gave Gu Yifan a long, searching look. After a moment, she turned to Peng Shaoqiang, who was smiling awkwardly, and said, ”Well... since Gu Yifan recommends you so highly, how about it, Peng Shaoqiang? Are you willing to be a temporary class representative?”

”Huh?”

Peng Shaoqiang froze for a second. After a moment’s thought, he said a bit sheepishly, ”T-Teacher Chen, yes! I’m willing!”

”Good!”

Chen Wenjing nodded. ”Then you’ll be the temporary male representative.”

”Yes, yes, Teacher Chen! I’ll be sure to work closely with you and serve our classmates well!”

Peng Shaoqiang hurriedly pledged his allegiance.

He’d completely forgotten that just moments ago, he was the one calling her ”Master Extinction” over and over!

”Alright... you can sit down, Peng Shaoqiang.”

Chen Wenjing waved him off, then continued, ”Now that we have our male representative, are there any girls who would like to volunteer to serve the class?”

As soon as she finished speaking, the girls in the audience started whispering among themselves.

Unlike the boys, who hadn’t competed for the spot, the girls’ side of things was far more competitive.

Several girls stood up one after another to nominate themselves.

After a round of self-introductions, the position of female temporary representative ultimately went to a girl with glasses named He Ziyi.

...

Next up was a review of Jinling University’s rules and other important points.

The entire class meeting lasted until after nine-twenty, nearly nine-thirty, before it finally concluded.

”Military training is set for the day after tomorrow, so everyone get some rest over the next two days. Oh, right, after you get back to your dorms, remember to send your height and clothing sizes to our two representatives so we can arrange to hand out the training uniforms!”

”Alright... it’s getting late, so that’s all for today’s meeting.”

”The two representatives, please stay behind. Everyone else is dismissed. Go get some rest!”

Chen Wenjing announced to the class.

As soon as she finished, the students poured out of the classroom in small groups.

”Hey, Brother Fan, are we waiting for that show-off, Young Master Peng, or should we just take off?”

Young Master B, Wang Shouyi, asked Gu Yifan.

”Let’s just go. Who knows how long he’ll be.”

Gu Yifan replied casually.

”Good point. Let’s head out.”

Wang Shouyi nodded.

”By the way, Brother Fan, which dorm are you in?” he asked, suddenly remembering something.

”Oh, I don’t live in the dorms.”

Gu Yifan replied offhandedly.

”Huh?”

Wang Shouyi was taken aback. ”Brother Fan, you commute?”

”Er...”

Gu Yifan paused for a second before thinking and saying, ”Not exactly. I’m just not living in the same dorms as you guys.”

”Huh?”

Wang Shouyi was confused.

”Alright, we’re the last ones in here. Let’s go.”

Gu Yifan didn’t explain further, casually changing the subject.

With that, he stood up and headed for the classroom door.

”Oh, right.”

Seeing this, Wang Shouyi hurried to follow. He Dongdong, who had been too timid to speak the whole time, silently tagged along behind them.

And just like that, a small clique, with Gu Yifan at its center, was officially formed...
