Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: A Familiar Figure? Gu Yifan Went to the Wrong Place

Many students were also hurrying along the path toward the athletic field.

The scene the two were making also drew quite a bit of attention.

It couldn’t be helped!

With their ridiculously good looks on full display, it was hard *not* to stare.

Noticing the many gazes pointed their way, the blush on Su Qinghe’s face deepened.

”You... there are so many people here... Can you please stop teasing me?”

Su Qinghe whispered, her voice barely a murmur.

”Haha!”

Seeing how shy she was, Gu Yifan couldn’t help but burst out laughing. ”All right, I’ll stop teasing you. I’m off. I’ll come get you at noon!”

With that, he turned and walked away.

Gazing at Gu Yifan’s retreating figure, Su Qinghe’s expression was incredibly complex.

’This ”Big Bully”... He said he’d stop teasing me, but he’s always at it...’

She pouted, grumbling to herself.

”Huh...”

Just then, a few girls from Su Qinghe’s class happened to be rushing toward the athletic field. Bao Baijie spotted Su Qinghe staring blankly into the distance all by herself. She walked over and asked with a puzzled look, ”Qinghe, what are you looking at?”

”Huh?”

The sudden voice made Su Qinghe jump.

She whipped her head around and visibly relaxed when she saw it was her classmate, Bao Baijie.

”I-I wasn’t looking at anything.”

Su Qinghe said quickly in a low voice.

But her flustered expression, combined with the blush still lingering on her cheeks, made it clear that Bao Baijie wasn’t buying it.

She turned and followed Su Qinghe’s previous line of sight, but all she saw were the retreating backs of a few people in a hurry. There was nothing else.

Turning back, she gave Su Qinghe a suspicious look and muttered, ”That can’t be right...!”

Su Qinghe grew uneasy under her stare. Her face turned even redder, and she felt utterly mortified.

”All right, assembly is about to start. We’re going to be late. Let’s hurry!”

Just then, another girl beside them spoke up, breaking the tension.

Then, she pulled Su Qinghe along, and the group hurried toward where their class was forming up.

...

The athletic field was now a dense sea of heads, filled with the constant din of conversation.

Everyone was dressed in military training camouflage, making it impossible to tell one class’s formation from another.

”Financial Management, Class One! Gather over here!”

”Accounting, Class Three! Over here!”

...

Amid the crowd, the temporary student leaders for each class were all shouting at the top of their lungs.

”Hey, over there! That’s our class!”

one of the girls in Su Qinghe’s group exclaimed, having spotted their class’s formation in the crowd.

So the group pushed their way through the throng of people.

”Hm?”

Suddenly, Su Qinghe froze and stopped walking.

She thought she’d spotted a familiar figure in the crowd, but the tide of people shifted, and just as quickly, the person was gone.

”Qinghe?”

”Why’d you stop?”

Bao Baijie asked, puzzled, when she noticed Su Qinghe had abruptly stopped.

Hearing Bao Baijie’s question, Su Qinghe just shook her head slightly.

”It’s... nothing.”

she said softly.

Bao Baijie: ”...”

She felt that Su Qinghe was acting a little strange, but she didn’t dwell on it.

She just chalked it up to her personality.

”Looks like the drill instructors are here. Let’s hurry!”

she said, shaking her head helplessly.

”Oh, okay.”

Su Qinghe nodded and quickly followed her to their class’s spot in the formation.

「Ten minutes later.」

The initial chaos on the field was gone.

After all, these were university students, a relatively well-behaved crowd. Aside from the initial messy scramble to find their formations, every class was now arranged in neat, orderly rows.

You had to admit, majors like finance and accounting were packed with girls.

Well... aside from the formations of a few smaller engineering majors mixed in, all the rest were from majors like finance and accounting.

A single glance across the entire field revealed that the vast majority were... well-endowed girls.

It’s said that a shaved head is the true test of a man’s good looks. For women, the military training uniform was no less revealing. A truly beautiful girl’s charm would shine through, even in camouflage.

And Su Qinghe was a perfect example.

Even though she stood in the middle of her formation, anyone’s gaze sweeping over the crowd would land on her first.

It couldn’t be helped!

Her stunning looks, combined with her uniquely gentle and sweet aura, made it impossible not to notice her.

Plenty of guys had already noticed her and were secretly plotting how they could strike up a conversation—maybe by bringing her some water later—to see if they had a chance with her.

After all, the upperclassmen all said that if you didn’t get into a relationship, your four years of college would be incomplete.

Their little schemes were well-laid.

Too bad they’d made a gross miscalculation. Anyone trying to flirt with Su Hanhan was doomed to fail.

...

Meanwhile, over on Gu Yifan’s side.

He had already reached the academic building, but when he saw the completely empty grounds without a single soul in sight, he was baffled.

’What... What’s going on?’

’Did I remember the location wrong? We’re not supposed to assemble here?’

He pulled his phone from his pocket, logged into QQ, and checked his class group chat. Only then did he see the notice that had been sent out that morning: the assembly point had been temporarily changed to the basketball courts next to the main athletic field.

Uh...

’The basketball courts next to the main athletic field... So I walked all the way over here for nothing?’

Gu Yifan was at a loss for words.

But he couldn’t blame anyone else. It was his own fault for not checking the class group chat.

Sigh...

’I should’ve just driven.’

’Great. Now I have to walk all the way back.’

Gu Yifan felt like an idiot. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

...

TWEEET—TWEE-TWEET—

A whistle pierced the air.

”Attention, all!”

”Attention!”

”At ease!”

”Sound off by squad!”

”One! Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! Seven...”

...

Similar commands echoed across the entire field.

Meanwhile, Gu Yifan was still rushing toward the athletic field.

”Reporting, Instructor!”

”Financial Management, Class One! Assigned strength, fifty! Present, forty-five! One excused absence, one exempt from training!”

Peng Shaoqiang shouted, standing before his squad and facing the dark-skinned instructor.

Hearing this, Ge Rundong couldn’t help but frown. His already tan face seemed to darken.

’So many people absent on the very first day? Such a lax attitude. They’re clearly not taking this training seriously!’

”Right.”

”Class monitor, get me a list of the absent and excused names later.”

Ge Rundong said with a grim expression, nodding at Peng Shaoqiang.

”Yes, Instructor!”

Peng Shaoqiang replied loudly.

”Fall in!”

Ge Rundong commanded.

Just then, Gu Yifan’s belated figure appeared at the edge of the athletic field...
