Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Let’s Just Call It Madou TV

When Wang Shouren heard Gu Yifan pause, his heart sank.

Sure enough!

’There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world!’

However, he also knew that Gu Yifan was testing his abilities.

If he couldn’t meet his requirements within three months, his time as the vice president with a million-yuan annual salary would probably be over.

After thinking for a moment, Wang Shouren looked up at Gu Yifan with a wry smile and said, ”Three months is a bit tight, but with the reference materials and support you’ve provided, Boss, if I said I couldn’t do it, then I really wouldn’t be worthy of the high salary you’re paying me!”

Gu Yifan said nothing, simply picking up the teacup on the table and taking a calm sip.

Su Qinghe also remained silent. She glanced curiously at Gu Yifan and then at Wang Shouren, unable to understand their cryptic back-and-forth.

For a moment, the office fell into a strange silence.

Seeing that Gu Yifan wasn’t speaking, Wang Shouren steeled himself, gritted his teeth, and declared, ”Boss, give me three months—no, two and a half. If I can’t build our company’s very own live-streaming platform in two and a half months, then I’ll hand in my resignation!”

Only after he finished speaking did Gu Yifan unhurriedly set down his teacup. He smiled faintly and said, ”Hey, it’s not that serious. It doesn’t need to come to that, really.”

But even though Gu Yifan said that, how could Wang Shouren dare to take him at his word?

He insisted, ”Boss, it’s necessary. If I can’t do it, I won’t have the face to stay with the company...”

”Well...”

Gu Yifan feigned a moment of hesitation, then said reluctantly, ”Alright, two and a half months it is. I’ll be waiting for you to surprise me, Old Wang!”

”Yes, Boss!”

Wang Shouren nodded.

”Hey, Old Wang, didn’t I say it’s fine to just call me President Gu? Calling me ’Boss’ is too formal!”

Gu Yifan said, feigning a bit of displeasure.

”Uh...”

Wang Shouren said awkwardly, ”My apologies, President Gu.”

”Mm... that’s more like it!”

Gu Yifan finally nodded in satisfaction.

Suddenly!

Wang Shouren seemed to recall something and asked Gu Yifan, ”By the way, President Gu, I noticed in the five-year plan that you’ve named our upcoming live-streaming platform ’Mado TV.’ Is there any special meaning behind that name?”

”Er...”

Hearing his curious question, Gu Yifan paused for a moment.

He fell silent, as if lost in a memory.

”Haaaah...”

After a long moment, Gu Yifan let out a deep sigh.

”You could call it a tribute,”

Gu Yifan said faintly.

He didn’t elaborate, however.

Wang Shouren’s mouth opened slightly, as if to say something, but he ultimately remained silent, seeing that Gu Yifan had no intention of explaining further.

”Mm... Right, Old Wang, set up the company structure as soon as possible, following the requirements in the five-year plan. Also, start recruiting for the other departments immediately.”

”And get started on establishing the subsidiary, Mado Media, as soon as possible. It’ll be in charge of public relations, generating hype, and handling post-launch operations for Mado TV.”

Gu Yifan said after a moment’s thought, his fingers tapping gently on the desk.

”Understood!”

Knowing how much importance Gu Yifan placed on Mado TV, Wang Shouren nodded without hesitation.

Gu Yifan glanced at the time and saw that it was already 6:30 p.m. Without realizing it, they had been talking for about two hours.

It was already well past closing time, so he said, ”Hmm... It’s getting late. Old Wang, let’s go get dinner. We can continue our discussion over the meal.”

Wang Shouren was about to accept immediately, but he suddenly noticed the boss’s wife—Su Qinghe—sitting next to Gu Yifan and swallowed his words.

Gu Yifan noticed his subtle hesitation.

He shook his head with a helpless, wry smile. ”It’s fine, Old Wang. Go and book a private room. We’ll all head over in a little while.”

Slightly embarrassed at being seen through, Wang Shouren quickly regained his composure.

He nodded quickly. ”Alright, President Gu, I’ll go book the room right now!”

With that, he rose and made a quick exit.

Gu Yifan watched him go. Only after the office door closed behind him did he look away.

”Su Hanhan~”

He called out to Su Qinghe.

”Hm?”

Su Qinghe turned to look at him, confused. ”Wh-what is it?”

”Nothing. I just wanted to call your name,”

Gu Yifan said casually.

At his words, Su Qinghe looked even more bewildered.

”Come here, let me give you a hug.”

Gu Yifan said with a faint smile.

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe froze.

”Th-This is the office... isn’t that a bad idea?”

she said, her face flushing red.

”It’s fine. No one would dare come in,”

Gu Yifan said calmly.

”But...”

After a moment of hesitation, her face still flushed, Su Qinghe obediently walked over to Gu Yifan’s side.

Seeing this, Gu Yifan smiled faintly, then gently lifted her onto his lap.

”Ah!”

Caught off guard, Su Qinghe let out a cry and instinctively threw her arms around his neck.

They were pressed closely together.

Su Qinghe’s eyes widened, her mind going blank for a moment.

”Su Hanhan, why are you staring at me with your eyes so wide? It’s not like I’m going to eat you,”

Gu Yifan teased.

Instantly, Su Qinghe’s face turned bright red.

She hurriedly lowered her head in a fluster, completely unable to meet Gu Yifan’s gaze.

Seeing how shy she was, Gu Yifan couldn’t resist planting a kiss on her rosy cheek.

His kiss only made Su Qinghe more flustered.

She hugged Gu Yifan tightly, at a complete loss for a moment.

Just then.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

A sudden knock came from the door.

Wang Shouren had returned. After knocking gently on Gu Yifan’s office door, he stood at the entrance and called out, ”President Gu, I’ve booked the restaurant. Should I head over first, or should I wait for you both to go together?”

Hearing the voice, Su Qinghe frantically struggled out of Gu Yifan’s arms.

”Er...”

Watching Su Qinghe scramble away like a startled little rabbit, Gu Yifan shook his head with a sigh.

He then turned to Wang Shouren outside the door and said, ”Hmm... Wait for a moment. We’ll all go together.”

...

「Jinling Restaurant」

Gu Yifan stood at the door of private room 305, somewhat dazed.

’Room 305 again? This is...’

For a moment, he was at a loss for words.

They say that when a number keeps appearing in your life, it’s meant to be a reminder or a hint about something.

In his previous life, scientific research indicated that the ultimate answer to the universe was 42!

’Could the number 305 be something similar?’
