Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Spreading Dog Food and Graduation Finale

Because of this, Gu Yifan gave Wang Zibo the cold shoulder for the entire afternoon.

Seeing this, Wang Zibo timidly asked him why he seemed so upset.

This only made Gu Yifan’s expression turn even fouler.

’Damn it!’

’He has no fucking clue, does he?’

’The guy ruins my moment and he’s lucky I haven’t slapped him twice already!’

...

「6:30 PM.」

There was less than half an hour left until the scheduled time for Gu Yifan’s class reunion...

Wang Zibo had already been unable to wait, running home to change into an incredibly flashy outfit before rushing back.

”Brother Fan, it’s about that time. Shouldn’t we get going?”

”Heh heh...”

He stood in the doorway, grinning foolishly at Gu Yifan.

When Gu Yifan turned around at the sound of his voice, he froze as if he’d been struck by lightning.

Ripped jeans, side-swept bangs covering one eye...

’Isn’t this the perfect scene kid getup?’

It gave Gu Yifan the distinct feeling that he’d been transported back to 2008, when the scene style was all the rage.

”Er...”

After a long pause, Gu Yifan said dryly, ”Zibo, are you really planning to go to the graduation dinner dressed like that?”

”Yeah!”

Wang Zibo declared, flicking his bangs with an air of utter confidence.

Gu Yifan: ”...”

He shook his head, speechless. ”Fine. Whatever floats your boat. As long as you’re happy.”

Wang Zibo was a little confused but didn’t give it much thought.

He just grinned and said nothing more.

Gu Yifan turned to Su Qinghe, who was mopping the floor. ”Su Hanhan, I’m heading out now. Just have dinner with my mom when she gets back later. You don’t have to wait up for me.”

”Okay.”

Su Qinghe stopped what she was doing and turned to Gu Yifan, nodding obediently.

Seeing her adorable, simple expression, Gu Yifan couldn’t resist pinching her cheeks, which were starting to get a little chubby. He smiled and said, ”What do you want for a late-night snack? I’ll bring something back for you!”

With someone else present, Su Qinghe’s face turned slightly red.

Seeing the two of them engaging in yet another public display of affection, Wang Zibo, who was standing to the side, couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

”Brother Fan, I’ll wait for you by the elevator!”

Without another word, he slipped away without a backward glance.

Gu Yifan glanced back at him but paid him no mind. He turned back to Su Qinghe and asked, ”Is there anything you’re craving? How about I bring you some *tangyou baba*?”

Su Qinghe gently shook her head. ’He’ll be back late,’ she thought, ’I don’t want to cause him more trouble.’ So she said softly, ”N-No, that’s okay. I’ll be full from dinner.”

”You sure?”

”Mm-hm.”

”Alright then. Be good and stay home, don’t go running off. My mom’s on her way back already.”

Gu Yifan didn’t press the issue. After a moment’s thought, he added this.

”Mm-hm... I know,” Su Qinghe said with a nod.

Gu Yifan nodded and turned to walk toward the door.

”W-Wait.”

Su Qinghe suddenly called out.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan stopped in his tracks and turned back to her, a look of confusion on his face.

”I...” For a moment, Su Qinghe didn’t know what to say, her face a mask of indecision.

Seeing her hesitate, Gu Yifan walked back to her and asked softly, ”What’s wrong?”

After a moment’s hesitation, Su Qinghe pursed her lips, looked up at Gu Yifan, and said quietly, ”Can you... try not to drink or smoke too much?”

”Er...”

Gu Yifan paused, taken aback for a second, then broke into a small smile. ”Okay. I promise.”

At his words, Su Qinghe’s eyes lit up, and a brilliant smile bloomed on her face.

”You silly Hanhan.”

Gu Yifan said with a laugh as he reached out and ruffled her hair.

The gentle pat on the head made Su Qinghe’s face flush red once more.

Seeing her shy, adorable expression, he couldn’t resist pinching her cheek again.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, Gu Yifan saw it was already 5:40. ”Alright, I’m running late,” he said. ”I have to go now. Wait for me to get back!”

”Mm-hm.”

Su Qinghe nodded emphatically.

Hearing that, Gu Yifan delayed no further and walked out the door.

Su Qinghe watched his retreating back. She reached up to touch the cheek Gu Yifan had pinched, pouting as she muttered to herself, ”My cheeks are going to get all stretched out from his pinching...”

...

”What took you so long!” By the elevator, Wang Zibo complained with a pout when he saw Gu Yifan finally sauntering over.

Gu Yifan shot him a look and said nonchalantly, ”I always last a long time.”

”???”

Wang Zibo froze for a second. He glanced at Gu Yifan, who was pressing the elevator button. ’Are we talking about the same thing here?’

DING—

The elevator arrived at the first floor.

”Hey, Brother Fan, this is just the first floor. Aren’t we going to the underground garage?” Wang Zibo asked, confused.

”We’re going to be drinking later, aren’t we?”

Gu Yifan glanced at him and stated flatly, ”Don’t drink and drive, and don’t drive if you’re drinking. We’ll just take a cab.”

Wang Zibo: ”...”

...

「Guyun Xuan Hotel.」

Gu Yifan was the first one out of the taxi.

Wang Zibo followed, grumbling and cursing as he climbed out of the passenger seat.

”Dammit! I knew you were up to no good making me sit in the front! That was fifty bucks! My internet cafe budget for the week is gone, just like that!” he wailed.

”Oh, come on, you mutt. All you do at the internet cafe is play games and watch porn anyway. You’d be better off using that time to think about your ’bosom buddy’ with her ’three gold bricks’!” Gu Yifan retorted casually.

Wang Zibo: ”... -_-||”

”You son of a bitch, Gu Yifan! Can we please not bring up the ’three gold bricks’ thing again!” he said, his face darkening.

”Oh.”

”Maybe next time,” Gu Yifan said, shooting him a meaningful look over his shoulder.

With that, he turned and walked into the hotel without looking back.

He left Wang Zibo standing there alone, his mind a complete mess.

Seeing that Gu Yifan had already entered the hotel, Wang Zibo finally snapped out of it and hurried after him. ”Hey, you son of a bitch, wait for me!”

...

”Zibo, what was the private room number again?”

Gu Yifan asked casually, turning to Wang Zibo in the hotel lobby.

”It’s 305, isn’t it? You son of a bitch, don’t you ever read the group chat messages?” Wang Zibo snapped, unable to stop himself from rolling his eyes.

He was currently a ball of pent-up resentment, looking for all the world like a sulky, unsatisfied housewife.

”305?”

Gu Yifan paused. ’305 again... I really seem to have a strange connection to this number.’

Shaking his head, he didn’t dwell on it. He turned to a nearby hostess and said, ”Excuse me... we’re headed to private room 305. Could you please show us the way?”

”Of course!”

”Right this way, gentlemen.”

The hostess said with a smile.

...

「Two and a half minutes later.」

”’Dengke Dian’... what an interesting name.”

Gu Yifan muttered to himself, looking at the nameplate on the door of room 305.

”Come on, Brother Fan, who cares what the room is called? Let’s just go in, I’m starving!”

Wang Zibo whined, pushing open the door to the room and pulling Gu Yifan in with him.
