Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Han Ning’s Despair! Su Qinghe: I’m Peeing

At these words, Gu Yifan stopped in his tracks, his brow furrowing slightly.

After a moment’s thought, he turned to face Han Ning and asked, ”Han Ning, do you need something?”

”I... can we talk?”

Han Ning whispered, her voice laced with a plea as she lightly bit her lip.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan’s frown deepened. His tone was perfectly calm as he said, ”Haven’t we already said everything there is to say?”

”I...”

Han Ning was at a loss for words, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

She asked meekly, ”I just want to talk to you again. Just for two minutes, please?”

Seeing her like this, Gu Yifan was momentarily at a loss for what to say.

After a moment’s hesitation, he relented. ”Fine. Whatever it is, just say it.”

Seeing Gu Yifan agree, Han Ning’s eyes lit up. She hurried forward, reaching for his hand.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan frowned slightly, taking a step back to avoid her hand.

”Han Ning, please have some self-respect.”

His tone was calm, yet it carried a distance that would keep anyone a thousand miles away.

The expression on Han Ning’s face froze.

”I just wanted to take you somewhere...” she said, her voice filled with grievance.

”I have to get home soon. Whatever you have to say, say it here.”

Gu Yifan said flatly, his brow furrowed, giving her no room to maneuver.

Hearing this, Han Ning’s sense of grievance only grew stronger.

”Gu Yifan, you’ve changed! You never used to treat me like this!”

she cried out, her eyes red and her voice on the verge of tears.

Gu Yifan: ”...”

’Here we go again!’

It was always the same few lines. He’d heard them so many times his ears were starting to grow calluses.

”Han Ning, if this is what you wanted to talk about, then there’s no need. I have to go, so I’m leaving now.”

Gu Yifan said impatiently.

With that, he turned and headed for Room 305 at the end of the hall.

THUMP!

Suddenly,

Han Ning ran up and hugged him from behind.

Caught off guard, he stumbled slightly from the impact.

”No, please don’t go! Gu Yifan, I was wrong! Please don’t leave me, okay?”

”I like you, I really, really like you! I don’t want to lose you!”

”I’ll agree! I’ll be your girlfriend! Can’t we just go back to how things were before?”

”SOB... SOB... SOB...”

Tears finally streamed uncontrollably from Han Ning’s eyes.

Listening to the heartbreaking sobs of the girl pressed tightly against his back, Gu Yifan felt no pity. Instead, he felt an inexplicable wave of irritation.

Without a hint of hesitation, he pried her hands off him and took several steps back to prevent her from lunging at him again.

Pushed away by Gu Yifan, Han Ning was so stunned that for a moment, she forgot to cry.

She stared in disbelief at Gu Yifan, whose expression was not just impassive, but cold.

”Han Ning, have some self-respect.”

Gu Yifan said coldly, his expression thunderous.

At his words, all the color drained from Han Ning’s face.

Because she had just seen indifference and disgust in his eyes.

This was the first time he had ever looked at her that way. Before, his gaze had always been endlessly gentle.

She regretted it.

She truly regretted it!

A torrent of regret and grievance burst forth, overflowing from her heart like a monstrous flood.

But she really, really didn’t want to lose Gu Yifan.

Tears streaming down her face, she pleaded humbly, ”Gu Yifan, I was wrong. I really know I was wrong now. Please, just give me one more chance!”

Seeing Han Ning’s pitiful, tear-streaked face, Gu Yifan’s heart remained completely unmoved.

He truly wanted nothing more to do with Han Ning, and he certainly wasn’t going to give her another chance to turn him back into a simp.

’So be it.’

Gu Yifan looked up at her, his expression placid. ”Sorry,” he said. ”I don’t like you anymore.”

With that, Gu Yifan turned and walked away without a shred of hesitation.

Staring at his ruthless, retreating figure, Han Ning could no longer hold back.

No longer caring if she dirtied her princess dress, she collapsed to the floor and began to wail.

Hearing her gut-wrenching sobs behind him, Gu Yifan couldn’t help but quicken his pace.

Just as he pushed open the door to the private room, he nearly ran into a frantic-looking Wu Xiaoyan.

”Ah!”

With quick reflexes, Gu Yifan grabbed her arm, saving her from a nasty fall.

”What’s the big rush?”

Gu Yifan asked with a frown.

”Gu Yifan! It’s you.”

”Um... Xiaoning’er is missing!”

”Did you see her out there just now?”

Ignoring her own near-tumble, Wu Xiaoyan asked frantically.

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan paused for a second, then nodded. ”Yeah, I saw her.”

”You did?”

Hearing that, Wu Xiaoyan grabbed his arm. ”Where is she? Where’s Xiaoning’er?”

”She’s at the end of the hall. You should probably go check on her.”

Gu Yifan said.

”Oh, okay.”

Wu Xiaoyan nodded and started to run off to find Han Ning.

”Wait!”

Gu Yifan called out, stopping her.

”What is it?”

Wu Xiaoyan asked, looking confused.

”Um... Han Ning’s pretty upset. You should probably take her home. I’ll make your excuses to the teachers.”

Gu Yifan said.

Before Wu Xiaoyan could react, he pushed the door open again and went inside.

?!

As if she’d just realized something, Wu Xiaoyan sprinted toward the end of the hall.

...

Back in the private room, Gu Yifan was dragged into drinking a few more glasses. Afterward, he found his homeroom teacher, Ye Xiangying, and a few other female teachers, told them he was leaving, and then grabbed the now slightly-sobering Wang Zibo to leave.

As for the rest of the party, class officers like Ye Tianlong would handle the cleanup, so he didn’t need to concern himself with it.

Around eleven o’clock at night, Gu Yifan finally managed to get Wang Zibo safely home. The guy had been hugging a utility pole, shouting that he wasn’t drunk, that he could still drink more, and that he was ready to do battle with the pole for three hundred rounds.

”BLEGH!”

”SPLATTER...”

”Agh!”

”You little brat! I just mopped this floor!”

Hearing the ferocious roar of Wang Zibo’s mother from behind the door, Gu Yifan could only think to himself, ’Poor Zibo. Good luck when you wake up tomorrow. You’re on your own.’

Shaking his head, Gu Yifan went straight to the elevator and headed downstairs.

He glanced at the time. It was just past eleven. He pulled out his phone and called Su Qinghe.

RING... RING... RING...

The phone rang for a while with no answer, and Gu Yifan started to get confused.

’What’s that silly Su Qinghe doing?’

’Why isn’t she picking up?’

Just as he was about to hang up, the call connected.

”Hello?”

Su Qinghe’s soft, sweet voice came through the receiver, accompanied by a faint sound, like running water.

”Su Hanhan, what were you doing? Why’d it take you so long to answer?”

Gu Yifan asked with a frown.

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe, on the other end of the line, seemed taken aback and didn’t know how to respond at first.

But, afraid of making him angry, she hesitated for a moment before whispering, ”...I was peeing.”

Gu Yifan: ”???????”
