Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 164: Chapter 164: Yihe Technology’s Current Situation

Gazing at the large, gilded characters for ”Yihe Technology Co., Ltd.” on the reception wall, Gu Yifan nodded in satisfaction.

”Boss, just as you instructed, our company has rented this entire floor!”

Wang Shouren explained.

”Good!”

Gu Yifan nodded.

”Boss, your office is inside. Let me take you to see it!”

Wang Shouren said respectfully once more.

Gu Yifan didn’t say much, just gave a slight nod.

He then followed Wang Shouren and stepped into the main office area.

But as soon as they walked in, the scene before them gave them a start!

”Welcome, Boss!”

Over a dozen people were standing respectfully in two rows on either side of the aisle. The moment they saw Gu Yifan, they all shouted in unison.

Gu Yifan was taken aback for a moment, then turned to give Wang Shouren a long, hard look.

Wang Shouren: ”...” (-_-||)

He was completely dumbfounded himself!

He had only told everyone to tidy up the office, but he never expected this bunch to pull a stunt like this!

”Um... Hello, everyone!”

Gu Yifan’s expression remained neutral as he calmly nodded at the crowd.

Su Qinghe, who was beside him, however, was a little uncomfortable. Being a bit socially anxious, she had never witnessed a scene like this before!

Noticing Su Qinghe’s discomfort, Gu Yifan turned to Wang Shouren and said, ”President Wang, have everyone disperse.”

”Yes, yes, Boss!”

Wang Shouren nodded hurriedly, then turned to the staff. ”Alright, everyone, break it up! Go back to your workstations and get back to what you were doing!”

”President Wang, let’s talk in my office,”

Gu Yifan said.

”Of course!”

”Boss, please follow me this way!”

Wang Shouren nodded eagerly.

With that, he led the way toward the inner office.

Watching Gu Yifan and the others’ retreating backs, the employees exchanged uncertain glances.

”Uh...”

”We’re so screwed!”

”Did our good intentions just backfire? It seems like the boss isn’t a fan of these empty formalities.”

”It can’t be that bad, can it?”

”Yeah, the boss didn’t look angry to me!”

”But did you guys notice? The boss is so young! And he’s damn handsome, too!”

”Yeah, holy shit, I forgot to even notice because I was so nervous. The boss really is young!”

”Oh, and did you see the girl next to the boss? She’s gorgeous! She must be the boss lady, right?”

”Totally gorgeous, like a goddess! I used to think Xiaohu was pretty, but next to the boss lady, she looks like a handmaiden from the Eastern Palace. The comparison is just brutal!”

”That girl has to be the boss lady. I snuck a peek just now and saw the boss holding her hand!”

”Damn... the boss and the boss lady’s looks are just out of this world!”

...

After returning to their desks, the group started whispering among themselves.

Meanwhile, Gu Yifan had arrived at the general manager’s office that Wang Shouren had prepared for him.

Looking at the clean, minimalist decor, Gu Yifan glanced at Wang Shouren in surprise.

”Ahem.”

Gu Yifan’s look made Wang Shouren a bit awkward. He quickly explained, ”Boss, I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I just did a simple setup based on the styles popular with young people today. If you don’t like it, we can have it redone!”

”No need.”

”This is fine. I’m quite satisfied with this style,”

Gu Yifan said, waving his hand.

Seeing that he was satisfied, Wang Shouren secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

’That awkward incident at the entrance, on top of the decor issue... I was afraid my young boss would get a bad impression of me!’

’Thankfully, it was a close call, but everything’s fine!’

”You are... Xiaohu, right? Please go make a few cups of tea and bring them to the office.”

Gu Yifan said to He Lina, the front desk assistant who had followed them in.

”Right away, Boss!”

He Lina nodded quickly.

She then respectfully exited the office, pulling the door closed behind her.

After she left, Gu Yifan turned to Wang Shouren and said, ”Well... Old Wang, let’s sit down and talk.”

”Hm?”

Hearing Gu Yifan’s form of address for him change from ”President Wang” to ”Old Wang,” Wang Shouren was secretly delighted.

’This shows that the boss is generally satisfied with my performance!’

”Yes, of course, Boss!”

He nodded and said quickly.

...

”Old Wang, you’ve worked hard on the company’s affairs during this time.”

Sitting on the reception sofa, Gu Yifan spoke to Wang Shouren again.

This wasn’t just a pleasantry; he truly meant it.

Although he was paying Wang Shouren a high salary and this was all part of his job...

Still!

After all, ever since the company was founded in mid-June, he had been a completely hands-off manager, leaving Wang Shouren to handle and manage all matters, big and small.

So, he deserved to hear that he had worked hard.

Hearing Gu Yifan bring this up again, Wang Shouren didn’t dare take credit. Just as before, he hurriedly said it was all part of his job.

”Boss, it’s great that you’re here at the company now. With you absent, the company was missing its backbone!”

Wang Shouren’s smooth bit of flattery was very pleasing to Gu Yifan.

”Haha.”

”Old Wang, let’s skip the mutual flattery.”

Gu Yifan smiled faintly. ”Um... why don’t you give me a rundown of the company’s current situation?”

”Of course, Boss!”

Wang Shouren nodded.

”Hey, Old Wang, don’t call me ’Boss’ anymore. It sounds a bit distant. Call me President Gu.”

”Uh... yes, President Gu!”

Wang Shouren nodded again, then adopted a serious expression and began his report. ”Currently, Yihe Technology Co., Ltd. has a total of 15 people, including you, President Gu. Ten of them are in the IT department—experienced computer specialists recruited per your request. We also have one front desk assistant, one accountant, one HR specialist, and then there’s me. The cashier position hasn’t been filled yet, so I’m covering those duties for now, pending your selection of a candidate.”

”Additionally, our company has taken on a few small software development projects, which the IT department is currently working on...”

...

After listening to Wang Shouren’s entire report, Gu Yifan nodded slightly.

He now had a general overview of the company’s current status.

”By the way, Ol— uh, President Gu, the detailed financial statements and project reports for the past two months are in my office. I’ll go get them for you to review right now!”

As he spoke, Wang Shouren started to get up to retrieve the documents, but Gu Yifan stopped him.

”Hey, Old Wang, there’s no rush for those. I’ll look at them later.”

”Uh...”

Wang Shouren was taken aback for a moment, then nodded. ”Alright!”

And so, he sat back down.

Gu Yifan pondered for a moment before looking up at Wang Shouren. ”Hmm... Old Wang, you understand the company’s current situation better than I do. Why don’t you start by telling me your thoughts or suggestions for the company’s future direction?”
