Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5235: Confronting The Heaven’s Warriors

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar saw that no matter what she said, he wasn’t going to change his mind.

She unbound the Temporal Voidplane Ring, which directly caused a backlash to her soul, but the Low-Level Exalt Grade replica couldn’t put a dent in her soul. An Omega Exalt Stage cultivator was easily comparable to a Level Twelve or Level Thirteen Exalt cultivator, essentially a strong Peak-Level Exalt Stage cultivator.

Her true cultivation base was far more than what she displayed.

If she hadn’t kept herself suppressed with the aid of her twilight replica, then she would’ve long been kicked out of the Second Layer and sent to the void, and it would be gruesome since he true strength was nearer to the absolute layer limit than the normal layer limit.

After removing it, she sent it flying towards him with a flick of her finger.

Davis caught it and bound it back to himself.

His chaotic spatial seed resonated with it, easily binding it without incurring its wrath.

Binding and unbinding were essentially just abusing it. It certainly remembered the taste of his soul. Although Davis felt some weakness when he bound it with his soul, it didn’t hit him as much as he thought it would. He simply laughed it off, thinking the treasure’s spirituality liked him.

Unlike the poison replica, it wasn’t aggressive nor vicious at all, although it was still extremely picky.

He looked at his fingers ringed with four spatial rings of High-Level Exalt Grade that contained many more life rings within and four life rings of Low-Level Exalt Grade, one of which was High-Level Exalt Grade. It was his spoils of war. They looked fancier than the other considering each had its own design and insignia, belonging to a power, but as the Divine Emperor of Death, whose retaliation did he need to worry about?

He proudly wore them as a Bandit Emperor would.

The only problem was that he needed to shield them from his own attacks by protecting them with a layer of his own energy. He reminded himself not to use chaos-destruction while wearing them.

At this point, he was far stronger than the rings.

It mostly wouldn’t be a problem for him to launch attacks at the layer limit and protect most of these rings, but he would need to avoid a frontal crash like clashing fists and his fist breaking. If his fist broke, that would essentially be the same as the ring breaking.

After checking out his gear, he nodded, ”Then let’s move out in an hour.”

Turning around, he began to walk towards the exit.

”Where are you going? The Heaven’s Warriors are still following us. Among them are Venerable Knight Foredawn and Venerable Knight Renard.”

Davis paused for a moment. Another Venerable Knight joined their ranks?

Sure enough, as time passed, the situation would’ve turned bleaker, but fortunately, he managed to bring about the Golden Era, gaining himself some reprieve through merit.

”That’s why we’re moving out in an hour. Let’s lose them first. Who’s coming with me?”

Davis shot a playful smile at them, causing their hearts to churn.

Which innocent Divergent wouldn’t want to hit back at the annoying and hateful Heaven’s Warriors who were hunting them for no other reason other than that they were hidden dangers?

They knew it was not going to be easy, but if it was just losing them in the wind, it shouldn’t be that hard.

============

An obsidian flying palace was traversing below the purple-white skies.

Davis emerged from it and turned to look at the flying palace that he hadn’t paid much attention to before.

This flying palace had the architectural structure of a pagoda, with five immense tiers of sweeping obsidian roofs, each smaller than the one below until the top pagoda looked even more sleek and dazzling, but the space inside each of these floors was larger than an entire mortal city. It could house millions easily.

It was covered in an active violet barrier that seemed to indicate its defensive formation was working at high capacity.

It should be able to defend against one or two attacks at the Level Ten Exalt Stage before collapsing.

Although the Heaven’s Warriors might not attack, some random rogue cultivator with unknown intentions or those who wanted them dead for the intended or unintended casualties they caused might take advantage of the situation to break this period of non-aggression.

Davis could only wryly smile as he saw the cautiousness of Fairy Qiyra Darkstar.

The immortal world was always filled with conspiracies and schemes. He could tell by the way they lived their lives that they were always distrusting of his words, even though he was completely sincere and even though they wanted to believe. Skepticism was deep-rooted in not only them but the entire world.

The Heaven’s Warriors wouldn’t believe that he would not harm the world either.

This suddenly made him appreciate the two fairy Heaven’s Warriors who suddenly took off, making him wonder where exactly they went.

He cast his gaze at the Heaven’s Warriors, trying to search for them.

As soon as he appeared in the air, the army of seven thousand Heaven’s Warriors and over a hundred thousand cultivators and beasts who were extremely curious stopped in their tracks, a minority even dropping their jaws in shock before turning around to flee.

The Divine Emperor of Death was still alive!

Many of these people had come late to the battlefield.

They finally believed it was true! The Golden Era was really heralded by the Divine Emperor of Death’s actions as the rumors said.

”As expected, you’re still alive.”

A white-robed man with slanted eyes and a naturally cunning face said with a calm expression. His flowing white robes carried the yin-yang symbol at the chest. His golden eyes were piercing. He possessed short hair but held a flute in his hand.

In front of an Absolute Primarch, Davis felt alarm bells ring in his mind.

Funnily enough, this made him understand that Venerable Knight Lussandra never hated him as much as she pointed her bow at him.

”My condolences for what happened to Venerable Knight Damien.”

Davis cupped his hands as he stood alone in the vast skies.

The Heaven’s Warriors felt greatly shaken.

Venerable Knight Damien had been killed by the Apostle of Nullification from the Heavenly Blight Hall. It had brought intense humiliation and pain to the Heaven’s Warriors as they had lost such a fine warrior in their ranks.

They glared at the Divine Emperor of Death, their eyes radiating intense hostility since they felt like he was mocking them.

Davis could only purse his lips, feeling like he had been misunderstood.

He had only told the Heavenly Blight Hall to distract the Heaven’s Warriors. It wasn’t his fault that one of their finest warriors ended up dead because an apostle decided it was better to kill one of them. He wasn’t going to blame the Heavenly Blight Hall since he was grateful for their help.

If he was going to blame someone, he would only blame Second Apostle Tiaozen for hurting innocent bystanders more than necessary.

He gazed at Venerable Knight Renard, who was particularly incensed and radiated immense hostility, but he knew the other party was personally present at the scene when First Apostle Miraele slew Venerable Knight Damien. He could tell the helplessness and humiliation of being unable to save Venerable Knight Damien had personally taken root inside him as a seed of vengeance.

Incredulously, he further felt like he could very well harvest the seed in a tangible form along with his truesoul essence.

He couldn’t help but say, ”Fellow cultivator, you would face the same fate if you continue to follow our flying palace.”

Venerable Knight Renard pointed at him, ”If it weren’t for the Supreme One’s benevolence and magnanimity of rewarding you for your merit towards the human race, do you think you could survive?”

”Probably... not.” Davis thought as he lay before he chuckled, ”But since I survived and even got seven days of reprieve, I do not appreciate being followed. If fellow cultivators have some kind of message to deliver, I’ll take it. If not, please be on your way.”

He gestured to them respectfully, but to the Heaven’s Warriors, it was even more infuriating as they felt mocked.

”We are not fellow cultivators!”

”No matter your merit, you need to be sealed in order for the universe to be safe!”

”Obediently hand over yourself, and we’ll make your sealing process painless and give more merit to your non-Divergent family for them to survive.”

The Venerable Elders echoed at him.

”Divine Emperor of Death,” Venerable Knight Renard clenched his teeth, ”The Apostle of Nullification claimed that you were the new Dark Apostle, and we also received information that the Apostle of Nullification had constantly harassed this realm just before you revealed yourself. Do you dare accept that you are the Fifth Dark Apostle?”

”Of course, I’m the Fifth Dark Apostle.” Davis nodded firmly.

There was no way he would be able to hide his connection with the Heavenly Blight Hall. They had appeared whenever he had appeared. It would just harm his reputation instead since he felt he had built quite a reputation by fulfilling what he promised.

Venerable Knight Renard’s pupils quivered in hatred, ”Good, good. I will remember this.”

”...”

Davis’s expression nearly flickered with a hint of amusement. He wanted to say that the other party was making it easier for him since his soul appeared delicious.

’The Heavenly Echo Soul, is it...?’
